Kronosnet: kronosnet: encryption key exposure in memory after cryptographic configuration changes

A vulnerability was found in kronosnet's (version <=1.34) cryptographic configuration management. The framework does not correctly zero-out or wipe sensitive memory segments after executing changes to its cryptographic configuration. This omission leaves raw encryption keys resident in memory after the associated structures are freed. A local attacker capable of leveraging memory disclosure techniques could exploit this flaw to retrieve the active encryption key, allowing them to decrypt cluster network communications or inject malicious packets to cause severe high-availability cluster instability.

TeX Live SyncTeX Parser Heap Use-After-Free via Malformed SyncTeX File

The SyncTeX parser (synctex_parser.c) shipped with TeX Live and embedded by downstream consumers such as GNOME Evince contains a heap use-after-free vulnerability that allows attackers to crash applications or potentially execute arbitrary code by supplying a malformed .synctex or .synctex.gz file. A malformed SyncTeX file can construct a ref node with a NULL parent pointer, causing the replacement routine to fail to detach the node from its sibling chain, which triggers recursive freeing of live tree nodes and leaves dangling pointers that are later accessed by the parser during document load.

Rsync: Symlink races on path-based syscalls

Rsync is a file-copying tool that uses a delta-transfer algorithm to synchronize remote and local files. In versions prior to 3.4.3, previous bug fixes for symlink races in open() calls missed races in other path based system calls like chmod() and chown(). For rsync daemons with "use chroot = no" this allows an attacker with local filesystem access to change permissions, ownership or timestamp on a file outside the exported module. This issue is fixed in version 3.4.3.

ExtremeXOS Privilege Escalation via Symlink Following in File Utilities

The mv, cp, and rm file utilities exposed within the ExtremeXOS (EXOS) shell environment fail to safely canonicalize paths and follow symbolic links outside of the intended privilege boundary. An attacker with low-privilege CLI access can create a symbolic link that references a privileged filesystem location and then invoke the affected utilities to read, modify, or replace security-critical files outside of their authorized scope. Under certain conditions, this may enable escalation to root-level access and persistent modification of the device software stack. Exploitation is possible remotely by an attacker holding a low-privilege account, or locally via the serial console. Extreme would like to thank Hadrien Barral (Université Gustave Eiffel) and Georges-Axel Jaloyan (French Ministry of the Interior) for responsible disclosure of their findings.

NULL Pointer Dereference in REST API properties_parse via Malformed user_properties

In nanomq versions 0.24.11 and earlier, a NULL pointer dereference in `properties_parse()` allows an authenticated attacker to crash the NanoMQ broker by sending a POST request to `/api/v4/mqtt/publish` with `user_properties` as a JSON array instead of a JSON object. The crash occurs because `strlen()` is called on a NULL `item->string` pointer when iterating over array elements. An authenticated attacker can exploit this to crash the NanoMQ broker process. This is patched in version 0.24.14.

nanomq NULL Pointer Dereference in MQTTv5 Client CONNECT Decoder Leading to Remote DoS

In nanomq versions 0.24.11 and earlier, a NULL pointer dereference in `nni_mqttv5_msg_decode_connect()` allows a malicious MQTT broker to crash any connecting NanoMQ MQTTv5 client (including bridge mode) with a single packet, causing remote denial of service via SIGSEGV. In `nni_mqttv5_msg_decode_connect()` (`mqtt_codec.c:1863`), the code iterates over CONNECT properties using variable `prop` when it should use `will_prop`. When a CONNECT packet has no connect-level properties (`prop == NULL`) but has will properties (`will_prop != NULL`), dereferencing `prop->next` causes SIGSEGV at address `0x38` (NULL + `offsetof(property, next)`). This affects both `nanomq_cli` and **NanoMQ bridge mode** (Core component), as both use the same `mqtt_client.c` receive path. This can lead to remote DoS if a malicious MQTT broker can crash the client process with a single 35-byte packet and persistent DoS if auto-reconnect causes infinite crash loop.

Network-AI: EnvironmentManager.backup() follows symlinked directories and copies files outside the environment root into backups

Network-AI is a TypeScript/Node.js multi-agent orchestrator. Prior to version 5.12.2, `EnvironmentManager.backup()` recursively collects files using `_collectBackupFiles()`. `_collectBackupFiles()` uses `statSync(full)`, which follows symlinks. If `data/<env>` contains a symlink to a directory outside the environment root, backup recursion follows the symlink and copies external files into `data/<env>/.backups/<backupId>/`. An attacker who can place a symlink under the environment data directory can cause backup operations to disclose files outside the environment root into backup artifacts. The issue is fixed in v5.12.2. `_collectBackupFiles()` now uses `lstatSync` instead of `statSync` and skips any entry where `isSymbolicLink()` is true. Symlinks are never traversed, so `backup()` can no longer follow a link out of the environment root and copy external files into a backup artifact.

dataCycle No Brute-Force Protection On Web And API Login Endpoints

dataCycle is a data management system for centrally storing, managing, searching, finding, and distributing data. In dataCycle-CORE, the module handling core processing and framework rules, before and including version 25.07.3, the application accepts unlimited password guesses against both the browser login flow and the JSON login endpoint. The source code enables Devise's `:lockable` module on the user model but explicitly disables both lock and unlock strategies, and no request throttling or rate-limiting layer was identified in the Rails code. This creates a direct online password-guessing risk: - valid user accounts can be attacked continuously without temporary lockout - the same weakness is reachable through both `/users/sign_in` and `/api/v4/auth/login` - successful guessing yields a normal session cookie in the HTML flow or a fresh JWT in the API flow - the API endpoint is especially attractive for automation because it requires no CSRF token This has been patched in version 26.06.08.

SurrealDB before v2.6.1 Denial of Service via scripting

SurrealDB before v2.6.1 (and before v3.0.0-beta.3) contains a denial of service vulnerability in its embedded JavaScript scripting engine, which is enabled via the --allow-scripting capability (disabled by default). Any user able to execute arbitrary queries — including unauthenticated guests when --allow-guests is enabled — can use built-in string functions to construct a large string and pass it to the JavaScript runtime for compilation, triggering a null pointer dereference in the underlying QuickJS-NG engine. This causes the server process to terminate immediately without graceful shutdown, requiring a manual restart. The issue was fixed by updating the rquickjs dependency from v0.9.0 to v0.11.0.

When the global max_request_per_minute is exceeded, requests to /events still succeed if the events-specific counter (hardcoded 30/min) has not been reached. This allows event injection into analysisd beyond the admin-configured global rate limit. This issue has been fixed in version 4.14.5.

YAML::Syck versions before 1.47 for Perl allow a heap use-after-free via an anchor name reused as an anchors-table key in syck_hdlr_add_anchor

YAML::Syck versions before 1.47 for Perl allow a heap use-after-free via an anchor name reused as an anchors-table key in syck_hdlr_add_anchor. In the bundled libsyck an anchor name allocated by syck_strndup is stored both as node->anchor, freed when the node is freed, and as the key in the parser's anchors table. Freeing the node frees the shared key, and a later anchor redefinition makes st_delete compare against the freed key, so st_strcmp reads freed heap memory. Anchors are a standard YAML feature and need no special flags, so this is reached on the default Load path. Any caller that runs Load or LoadFile on an untrusted document that redefines an anchor reaches the read of freed memory.

YAML::Syck versions before 1.47 for Perl allow a use-after-free and double-free via an anchor node freed while still on the parser value stack

YAML::Syck versions before 1.47 for Perl allow a use-after-free and double-free via an anchor node freed while still on the parser value stack. In the bundled libsyck, when an anchor name is redefined or removed, syck_hdlr_add_anchor and syck_hdlr_remove_anchor free the node stored under that name with syck_free_node. That node can still be live on the parser's value stack, so syck_hdlr_add_node reaches it again and frees it a second time. On a normal build the 48-byte node chunk is freed twice and the interpreter aborts. Anchors need no special flags, so this is reached on the default Load path, and a 7-byte document that redefines an anchor triggers it. Any caller that runs Load or LoadFile on an untrusted document that redefines an anchor mid-parse crashes the interpreter, a denial of service.

CoreDNS: rewrite-plugin EDNS0 response-revert nil-pointer panic (remote DoS) when a downstream plugin returns a response with no OPT record

CoreDNS is a DNS server written in Go. Prior to 1.14.5, the CoreDNS rewrite plugin supports edns0 rewrite rules with an optional revert flag, and two response rules, edns0SetResponseRule and edns0ReplaceResponseRule[T] in plugin/rewrite/edns0.go, call res.IsEdns0() and immediately dereference the returned *dns.OPT without a nil check when a downstream plugin returns a response with no OPT record. A remote, unauthenticated client can send a single ordinary DNS query matching a rewrite edns0 <local|nsid|subnet> <set|append|replace> ... revert rule, causing ResponseReverter in plugin/rewrite/reverter.go to panic, return SERVFAIL, and degrade availability, or crash the CoreDNS process if the debug directive disables recovery. CoreDNS is a DNS server written in Go. Prior to 1.14.4, a single 28-byte UDP datagram can crash the CoreDNS process when the proxyproto plugin is enabled because plugin/pkg/proxyproto/proxyproto.go PacketConn.ReadFrom handles a PROXY v2 header with non-UDP transport such as family byte 0x11, reassigns addr from a nil readFrom result after parseProxyProtocol errors, and calls addr.String() in the warning log before ServeDNS recovery applies. Activepieces: Arbitrary file write in git-sync via path traversal and symlinks

Activepieces is an open source AI workflow automation platform. Prior to 0.82.0, the git-sync feature clones a user-configured Git repository into a temporary directory on the server and then writes flow, table, and connection state into it before pushing back, and two separate weaknesses allowed those writes to escape the intended workspace and land on arbitrary paths on the host filesystem: Git's symbolic-link handling was not disabled on the clone, so an attacker who controlled the remote repository could include symlinks that redirected the writes, and several user-supplied identifiers used to build on-disk paths (the repository slug and the externalId of tables, flows, and connections) were not validated against directory-traversal sequences such as ../. On a self-hosted Enterprise Edition deployment, a user authorized to configure or push to a git-sync repository (holding the WRITE_PROJECT_RELEASE permission) could cause the server to overwrite files anywhere the Activepieces process user can write, which depending on host layout can be leveraged for tampering, denial of service, or remote code execution. Buffa: Use-After-Free in OwnedView via Unsound 'static Lifetime Promotion in Deref

Buffa is a pure-Rust Protocol Buffers implementation with first-class protobuf editions support. Prior to 0.7.0, a soundness bug in the OwnedView<V> type allowed safe Rust code to trigger a use-after-free: the OwnedView::decode constructor transmuted a borrowed slice to &'static [u8], and the Deref implementation exposed the promoted 'static lifetime on borrowed view fields (such as &'static str and &'static [u8]) to callers, so the borrow checker permitted those references to outlive the OwnedView; once the OwnedView was dropped and its backing buffer freed, the references became dangling, enabling memory corruption, information disclosure of freed heap contents, and cross-thread misuse without any unsafe code in the calling application. This issue is fixed in version 0.7.0.

ubuntu-pro-client Local Privilege Escalation and Information Disclosure via Symlink Arbitrary File Read in collect-logs

An insecure symlink following vulnerability exists in Canonical ubuntu-pro-client (formerly ubuntu-advantage-tools) within the pro collect-logs command framework. The utility creates or utilizes predictable temporary file paths or user-accessible log directories when gathering diagnostic information without verifying the file type or ownership. An unprivileged local attacker can exploit this behavior by creating a symbolic link (symlink) at a predictable destination path pointing to an arbitrary, root-readable file (such as /etc/shadow or private files within /root). When a root administrator or operator subsequently executes the pro collect-logs command, the tool follows the user-controlled symlink, reads the target file, and compresses its contents into the resulting diagnostic support archive. Because the output archive remains readable by the unprivileged user, the attacker can extract and read the sensitive root-owned files, leading to a complete information disclosure of system secrets.
