color@5.0.1 contains malware after npm account takeover

color is a Javascript color conversion and manipulation library. On 8 September 2025, the npm publishing account for color was taken over after a phishing attack. Version 5.0.1 was published, functionally identical to the previous patch version, but with a malware payload added attempting to redirect cryptocurrency transactions to the attacker's own addresses from within browser environments. Local environments, server environments, command line applications, etc. are not affected. If the package was used in a browser context (e.g. a direct <script> inclusion, or via a bundling tool such as Babel, Rollup, Vite, Next.js, etc.) there is a chance the malware still exists and such bundles will need to be rebuilt. The malware seemingly only targets cryptocurrency transactions and wallets such as MetaMask. npm removed the offending package from the registry over the course of the day on 8 September, preventing further downloads from npm proper. On 13 September, the package owner published new patch versions to help cache-bust those using private registries who might still have the compromised version cached. Users should update to the latest patch version, completely remove their node_modules directory, clean their package manager's global cache, and rebuild any browser bundles from scratch. Those operating private registries or registry mirrors should purge the offending versions from any caches. This issues has been resolved in 5.0.2.

hackmd-mcp server-side request forgery in HTTP transport mode

hackmd-mcp is a Model Context Protocol server for integrating HackMD's note-taking platform with AI assistants. From 1.4.0 to before 1.5.0, hackmd-mcp contains a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability when the server is run in HTTP transport mode. Arbitrary hackmdApiUrl values supplied via the Hackmd-Api-Url HTTP header or a base64-encoded JSON query parameter are accepted without validation, allowing attackers to redirect outbound API requests to internal network services, access internal endpoints, perform network reconnaissance, and bypass network access controls. The stdio transport mode is not affected because it only accepts stdio requests. The issue is fixed in version 1.5.0, which enforces allowed endpoints and supports the ALLOWED_HACKMD_API_URLS environment variable. Users should update to 1.5.0 or later or apply documented mitigations such as switching to stdio mode, restricting outbound network access, or filtering the Hackmd-Api-Url header and related query parameter via a reverse proxy.

n8n stored cross-site scripting in LangChain Chat Trigger node initialMessages parameter

n8n is an open source workflow automation platform. From 1.24.0 to before 1.107.0, there is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in @n8n/n8n-nodes-langchain.chatTrigger. An authorized user can configure the LangChain Chat Trigger node with malicious JavaScript in the initialMessages field and enable public access so that the payload is executed in the browser of any user who visits the resulting public chat URL. This can be used for phishing or to steal cookies or other sensitive data from users accessing the public chat link. The issue is fixed in version 1.107.0. Updating to 1.107.0 or later is recommended. As a workaround, the affected chatTrigger node can be disabled. No other workarounds are known.

drawnix debug logging cross-site scripting vulnerability

drawnix is an all in one open-source whiteboard tool. In drawnix versions through 0.2.1, a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in the debug logging functionality. User controlled content is inserted directly into the DOM via innerHTML without sanitization when the global function __drawnix__web__console is invoked, as shown in apps/web/src/app/app.tsx where div.innerHTML = value is executed. This can allow arbitrary JavaScript execution in the context of the application if an attacker can cause untrusted data to be passed to the debug logger (for example via a malicious extension or other injection vector), potentially exposing user data or enabling unauthorized actions. The issue is fixed in version 0.3.0. Updating to 0.3.0 or later is recommended. No known workarounds exist.

Apache Fory: Denial of Service (DoS) due to Deserialization of Untrusted malicious large Data

A vulnerability in Apache Fory allows a remote attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS). The issue stems from the insecure deserialization of untrusted data. An attacker can supply a large, specially crafted data payload that, when processed, consumes an excessive amount of CPU resources during the deserialization process. This leads to CPU exhaustion, rendering the application or system using the Apache Fory library unresponsive and unavailable to legitimate users. Users of Apache Fory are strongly advised to upgrade to version 0.12.2 or later to mitigate this vulnerability. Developers of libraries and applications that depend on Apache Fory should update their dependency requirements to Apache Fory 0.12.2 or later and release new versions of their software.

Dataease H2 data source JDBC URL validation bypass leads to remote code execution

Dataease is an open source data analytics and visualization platform. In Dataease versions up to 2.10.12 the H2 data source implementation (H2.java) does not verify that a provided JDBC URL starts with jdbc:h2. This lack of validation allows a crafted JDBC configuration that substitutes the Amazon Redshift driver and leverages the socketFactory and socketFactoryArg parameters to invoke org.springframework.context.support.FileSystemXmlApplicationContext or ClassPathXmlApplicationContext with an attacker‑controlled remote XML resource, resulting in remote code execution. Versions up to and including 2.10.12 are affected. The issue is fixed in version 2.10.13. Updating to version 2.10.13 or later is the recommended remediation. No known workarounds exist.

Dataease has a JDBC attack vulnerability in the Impala datasource

Dataease is an open-source data visualization and analysis platform. In versions up to and including 2.10.12, the Impala data source is vulnerable to remote code execution due to insufficient filtering in the getJdbc method of the io.dataease.datasource.type.Impala class. Attackers can construct malicious JDBC connection strings that exploit JNDI injection and trigger RMI deserialization, ultimately enabling remote command execution. The vulnerability can be exploited by editing the data source and providing a crafted JDBC connection string that references a remote configuration file, leading to RMI-based deserialization attacks. This issue has been patched in version 2.10.13. It is recommended to upgrade to the latest version. No known workarounds exist for affected versions.

Dataease server-side request forgery via unfiltered DB2 JDBC ldap parameter

Dataease is an open source data analytics and visualization platform. In Dataease versions up to 2.10.12, the patch introduced to mitigate DB2 JDBC deserialization remote code execution attacks only blacklisted the rmi parameter. The ldap parameter in the DB2 JDBC connection string was not filtered, allowing attackers to exploit the DB2 JDBC connection string to trigger server-side request forgery (SSRF). In higher versions of Java, ldap deserialization (autoDeserialize) is disabled by default, preventing remote code execution, but SSRF remains exploitable. Versions up to 2.10.12 are affected. The issue is fixed in version 2.10.13. Updating to 2.10.13 or later is recommended. No known workarounds are documented aside from upgrading.

ocxl: fix pci device refcount leak when calling get_function_0()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocxl: fix pci device refcount leak when calling get_function_0() get_function_0() calls pci_get_domain_bus_and_slot(), as comment says, it returns a pci device with refcount increment, so after using it, pci_dev_put() needs be called. Get the device reference when get_function_0() is not called, so pci_dev_put() can be called in the error path and callers unconditionally. And add comment above get_dvsec_vendor0() to tell callers to call pci_dev_put().

9p: set req refcount to zero to avoid uninitialized usage

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: 9p: set req refcount to zero to avoid uninitialized usage When a new request is allocated, the refcount will be zero if it is reused, but if the request is newly allocated from slab, it is not fully initialized before being added to idr. If the p9_read_work got a response before the refcount initiated. It will use a uninitialized req, which will result in a bad request data struct. Here is the logs from syzbot. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hugetlbfs: fix null-ptr-deref in hugetlbfs_parse_param() Syzkaller reports a null-ptr-deref bug as follows: ====================================================== KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x0000000000000000-0x0000000000000007] RIP: 0010:hugetlbfs_parse_param+0x1dd/0x8e0 fs/hugetlbfs/inode.c:1380 [...] Call Trace: <TASK> vfs_parse_fs_param fs/fs_context.c:148 [inline] vfs_parse_fs_param+0x1f9/0x3c0 fs/fs_context.c:129 vfs_parse_fs_string+0xdb/0x170 fs/fs_context.c:191 generic_parse_monolithic+0x16f/0x1f0 fs/fs_context.c:231 do_new_mount fs/namespace.c:3036 [inline] path_mount+0x12de/0x1e20 fs/namespace.c:3370 do_mount fs/namespace.c:3383 [inline] __do_sys_mount fs/namespace.c:3591 [inline] __se_sys_mount fs/namespace.c:3568 [inline] __x64_sys_mount+0x27f/0x300 fs/namespace.c:3568 do_syscall_x64 arch/x86/entry/common.c:50 [inline] do_syscall_64+0x35/0xb0 arch/x86/entry/common.c:80 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x63/0xcd [...] </TASK> ====================================================== According to commit "vfs: parse: deal with zero length string value", kernel will set the param->string to null pointer in vfs_parse_fs_string() if fs string has zero length. Yet the problem is that, hugetlbfs_parse_param() will dereference the param->string, without checking whether it is a null pointer. To be more specific, if hugetlbfs_parse_param() parses an illegal mount parameter, such as "size=,", kernel will constructs struct fs_parameter with null pointer in vfs_parse_fs_string(), then passes this struct fs_parameter to hugetlbfs_parse_param(), which triggers the above null-ptr-deref bug. This patch solves it by adding sanity check on param->string in hugetlbfs_parse_param().

The backport misses a change to aperture_remove_conflicting_pci_devices(). Mainline itself is fine, because the function does not exist there as a result of the patch series. crypto: cavium - prevent integer overflow loading firmware

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: cavium - prevent integer overflow loading firmware The "code_length" value comes from the firmware file. If your firmware is untrusted realistically there is probably very little you can do to protect yourself. Still we try to limit the damage as much as possible. block, bfq: fix uaf for bfqq in bfq_exit_icq_bfqq

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block, bfq: fix uaf for bfqq in bfq_exit_icq_bfqq Commit 64dc8c732f5c ("block, bfq: fix possible uaf for 'bfqq->bic'") will access 'bic->bfqq' in bic_set_bfqq(), however, bfq_exit_icq_bfqq() can free bfqq first, and then call bic_set_bfqq(), which will cause uaf. Fix the problem by moving bfq_exit_bfqq() behind bic_set_bfqq().

rtc: msc313: Fix function prototype mismatch in msc313_rtc_probe()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rtc: msc313: Fix function prototype mismatch in msc313_rtc_probe() With clang's kernel control flow integrity (kCFI, CONFIG_CFI_CLANG), indirect call targets are validated against the expected function pointer prototype to make sure the call target is valid to help mitigate ROP attacks. If they are not identical, there is a failure at run time, which manifests as either a kernel panic or thread getting killed. msc313_rtc_probe() was passing clk_disable_unprepare() directly, which did not have matching prototypes for devm_add_action_or_reset()'s callback argument. Refactor to use devm_clk_get_enabled() instead. This was found as a result of Clang's new -Wcast-function-type-strict flag, which is more sensitive than the simpler -Wcast-function-type, which only checks for type width mismatches.

The ACPI buffer memory (buf.pointer) should be freed. But the buffer is also used after returning from acpi_get_dsd_graph(). Move the temporary variables buf to acpi_coresight_parse_graph(), and free it before the function return to prevent memory leak.
