Brook is a cross-platform programmable network tool. The `tproxy` server is vulnerable to a drive-by command injection. An attacker may fool a victim into visiting a malicious web page which will trigger requests to the local `tproxy` service leading to remote code execution. A patch is available in version 20230606.
An issue was discovered on D-Link DIR-823G devices with firmware through 1.02B03. A command Injection vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands via a crafted /HNAP1 request. This occurs when any HNAP API function triggers a call to the system function with untrusted input from the request body, such as a body of ' /bin/telnetd' for the GetDeviceSettingsset API function. Consequently, an attacker can execute any command remotely when they control this input.
The NetWorker command processor in rrobotd.exe in the Device Manager in EMC AlphaStor 4.0 before build 800 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via a DCP "run command" operation.
Toshiba ConfigFree 8.0.38 has a CF7 File Remote Command Execution Vulnerability
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Malwarebytes Antimalware 3.6.1.2711. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious web page. There is an issue with the way the product handles URIs within certain schemes. The product does not warn the user that a dangerous navigation is about to take place. Because special characters in the URI are not sanitized, this could lead to the execution of arbitrary commands. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current user at medium integrity. Was ZDI-CAN-7162.
If an attacker can control the port, which in itself is a very sensitive value, they can inject arbitrary OS commands due to the usage of the exec function in a third-party module kill-port < 1.3.2.
The Cybozu KUNAI application before 2.0.6 for Android allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary Java methods, and obtain sensitive information or execute arbitrary commands, via a crafted web site.
An ActiveX control in KeyHelp.ocx in KeyWorks KeyHelp Module (aka the HTML Help component), as used in GE Intelligent Platforms Proficy Historian 3.1, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5; Proficy HMI/SCADA iFIX 5.0 and 5.1; Proficy Pulse 1.0; Proficy Batch Execution 5.6; SI7 I/O Driver 7.20 through 7.42; and other products, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via crafted input, related to a "command injection vulnerability."
Arbitrary command execution is possible in Git before 2.20.2, 2.21.x before 2.21.1, 2.22.x before 2.22.2, 2.23.x before 2.23.1, and 2.24.x before 2.24.1 because a "git submodule update" operation can run commands found in the .gitmodules file of a malicious repository.
In Zmanda Management Console 3.3.9, ZMC_Admin_Advanced?form=adminTasks&action=Apply&command= allows CSRF, as demonstrated by command injection with shell metacharacters. This may depend on weak default credentials.
In Avast Premium Security 19.8.2393, attackers can send a specially crafted request to the local web server run by Avast Antivirus on port 27275 to support Bank Mode functionality. A flaw in the processing of a command allows execution of arbitrary OS commands with the privileges of the currently logged in user. This allows for example attackers who compromised a browser extension to escape from the browser sandbox.
An issue was discovered in Centreon before 18.10.8, 19.10.1, and 19.04.2. It allows CSRF with resultant remote command execution via shell metacharacters in a POST to centreon-autodiscovery-server/views/scan/ajax/call.php in the Autodiscovery plugin.
A OS Command Injection vulnerability in the bootstrap stage of Bitdefender BOX 2 allows the manipulation of the `get_image_url()` function in special circumstances to inject a system command.
A flaw was found in WebSVN 2.3.2. Without prior authentication, if the 'allowDownload' option is enabled in config.php, an attacker can invoke the dl.php script and pass a well formed 'path' argument to execute arbitrary commands against the underlying operating system.
File::Find::Rule through 0.34 for Perl is vulnerable to Arbitrary Code Execution when `grep()` encounters a crafted filename. A file handle is opened with the 2 argument form of `open()` allowing an attacker controlled filename to provide the MODE parameter to `open()`, turning the filename into a command to be executed. Example: $ mkdir /tmp/poc; echo > "/tmp/poc/|id" $ perl -MFile::Find::Rule \ -E 'File::Find::Rule->grep("foo")->in("/tmp/poc")' uid=1000(user) gid=1000(user) groups=1000(user),100(users)
The Zoom Client before 4.4.53932.0709 on macOS allows remote code execution, a different vulnerability than CVE-2019-13450. If the ZoomOpener daemon (aka the hidden web server) is running, but the Zoom Client is not installed or can't be opened, an attacker can remotely execute code with a maliciously crafted launch URL. NOTE: ZoomOpener is removed by the Apple Malware Removal Tool (MRT) if this tool is enabled and has the 2019-07-10 MRTConfigData.
GNU patch through 2.7.6 is vulnerable to OS shell command injection that can be exploited by opening a crafted patch file that contains an ed style diff payload with shell metacharacters. The ed editor does not need to be present on the vulnerable system. This is different from CVE-2018-1000156.
getchar.c in Vim before 8.1.1365 and Neovim before 0.3.6 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands via the :source! command in a modeline, as demonstrated by execute in Vim, and assert_fails or nvim_input in Neovim.
Pi-Hole 4.3 allows Command Injection.
A flaw was found in SSSD, where the sssctl command was vulnerable to shell command injection via the logs-fetch and cache-expire subcommands. This flaw allows an attacker to trick the root user into running a specially crafted sssctl command, such as via sudo, to gain root access. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to confidentiality, integrity, as well as system availability.
When running on Windows with enableCmdLineArguments enabled, the CGI Servlet in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.17, 8.5.0 to 8.5.39 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.93 is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution due to a bug in the way the JRE passes command line arguments to Windows. The CGI Servlet is disabled by default. The CGI option enableCmdLineArguments is disable by default in Tomcat 9.0.x (and will be disabled by default in all versions in response to this vulnerability). For a detailed explanation of the JRE behaviour, see Markus Wulftange's blog (https://codewhitesec.blogspot.com/2016/02/java-and-command-line-injections-in-windows.html) and this archived MSDN blog (https://web.archive.org/web/20161228144344/https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/twistylittlepassagesallalike/2011/04/23/everyone-quotes-command-line-arguments-the-wrong-way/).
Proxyee-Down is open source proxy software. An attacker being able to provide an extension script (eg: through a MiTM attack or by hosting a malicious extension) may be able to run arbitrary commands on the system running Proxyee-Down. For more details including a PoC see the referenced GHSL-2021-053. As of the writing of this CVE there is currently no patched version.
The "go get" implementation in Go 1.9.4, when the -insecure command-line option is used, does not validate the import path (get/vcs.go only checks for "://" anywhere in the string), which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands via a crafted web site.
Worldweaver DX Studio Player 3.0.29.0, 3.0.22.0, 3.0.12.0, and probably other versions before 3.0.29.1, when used as a plug-in for Firefox, does not restrict access to the shell.execute JavaScript API method, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via a .dxstudio file that invokes this method.
A vulnerability has been found in MailCleaner up to 2023.03.14 and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown functionality of the component Admin Endpoints. The manipulation leads to os command injection. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. It is recommended to apply a patch to fix this issue. The identifier VDB-262309 was assigned to this vulnerability.
runc through 1.0-rc6, as used in Docker before 18.09.2 and other products, allows attackers to overwrite the host runc binary (and consequently obtain host root access) by leveraging the ability to execute a command as root within one of these types of containers: (1) a new container with an attacker-controlled image, or (2) an existing container, to which the attacker previously had write access, that can be attached with docker exec. This occurs because of file-descriptor mishandling, related to /proc/self/exe.
An issue in Plasmoapp RPShare Fabric mod v.1.0.0 allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code via the build method in DonwloadPromptScreen
Poddycast is a podcast app made with Electron. Prior to version 0.8.1, an attacker can create a podcast or episode with malicious characters and execute commands on the client machine. The application does not clean the HTML characters of the podcast information obtained from the Feed, which allows the injection of HTML and JS code (cross-site scripting). Being an application made in electron, cross-site scripting can be scaled to remote code execution, making it possible to execute commands on the machine where the application is running. The vulnerability is patched in Poddycast version 0.8.1.
The package Snyk CLI before 1.1294.0 is vulnerable to Code Injection when scanning an untrusted Gradle project. The vulnerability can be triggered if Snyk test is run inside the untrusted project due to the improper handling of the current working directory name. Snyk recommends only scanning trusted projects.
A command Injection Vulnerability in McAfee Agent (MA) for Windows prior to 5.7.5 allows local users to inject arbitrary shell code into the file cleanup.exe. The malicious clean.exe file is placed into the relevant folder and executed by running the McAfee Agent deployment feature located in the System Tree. An attacker may exploit the vulnerability to obtain a reverse shell which can lead to privilege escalation to obtain root privileges.
The CRUDDIY project is vulnerable to shell command injection via sending a crafted POST request to the application server. The exploitation risk is limited since CRUDDIY is meant to be launched locally. Nevertheless, a user with the project running on their computer might visit a website which would send such a malicious request to the locally launched server.
A vulnerability in the REST API of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to perform a command injection attack and elevate privileges to root. This vulnerability is due to insufficient input validation for specific API endpoints. An attacker in a man-in-the-middle position could exploit this vulnerability by intercepting and modifying specific internode communications from one ISE persona to another ISE persona. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to run arbitrary commands with root privileges on the underlying operating system. To exploit this vulnerability, the attacker would need to decrypt HTTPS traffic between two ISE personas that are located on separate nodes.
Grandstream HT800 series firmware version 1.0.17.5 and below is vulnerable to an OS command injection vulnerability. Unauthenticated remote attackers can execute arbitrary commands as root by crafting a special configuration file and sending a crafted SIP message.
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Bitdefender SafePay 23.0.10.34. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the processing of tiscript. When processing the System.Exec method the application does not properly validate a user-supplied string before using it to execute a system call. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-7234.
