Buffer overflow in the util_path_encode function in udev/lib/libudev-util.c in udev before 1.4.1 allows local users to cause a denial of service (service outage) via vectors that trigger a call with crafted arguments.
In QEMU through 5.0.0, an assertion failure can occur in the network packet processing. This issue affects the e1000e and vmxnet3 network devices. A malicious guest user/process could use this flaw to abort the QEMU process on the host, resulting in a denial of service condition in net_tx_pkt_add_raw_fragment in hw/net/net_tx_pkt.c.
In QEMU 4.2.0, a MemoryRegionOps object may lack read/write callback methods, leading to a NULL pointer dereference.
In the Linux kernel 4.4 through 5.7.6, usbtest_disconnect in drivers/usb/misc/usbtest.c has a memory leak, aka CID-28ebeb8db770.
An issue was discovered in OpenEXR before 2.5.2. Invalid input could cause a use-after-free in DeepScanLineInputFile::DeepScanLineInputFile() in IlmImf/ImfDeepScanLineInputFile.cpp.
QEMU 4.2.0 has a use-after-free in hw/net/e1000e_core.c because a guest OS user can trigger an e1000e packet with the data's address set to the e1000e's MMIO address.
In the Linux kernel before 6.1.6, a NULL pointer dereference bug in the traffic control subsystem allows an unprivileged user to trigger a denial of service (system crash) via a crafted traffic control configuration that is set up with "tc qdisc" and "tc class" commands. This affects qdisc_graft in net/sched/sch_api.c.
An issue was discovered in OpenEXR before v2.5.2. Invalid chunkCount attributes could cause a heap buffer overflow in getChunkOffsetTableSize() in IlmImf/ImfMisc.cpp.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nft_set_pipapo: release elements in clone only from destroy path Clone already always provides a current view of the lookup table, use it to destroy the set, otherwise it is possible to destroy elements twice. This fix requires: 212ed75dc5fb ("netfilter: nf_tables: integrate pipapo into commit protocol") which came after: 9827a0e6e23b ("netfilter: nft_set_pipapo: release elements in clone from abort path").
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: SUNRPC: fix some memleaks in gssx_dec_option_array The creds and oa->data need to be freed in the error-handling paths after their allocation. So this patch add these deallocations in the corresponding paths.
QEMU (aka Quick Emulator), when built with the IDE disk and CD/DVD-ROM Emulator support, allows local guest OS privileged users to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and QEMU process crash) by flushing an empty CDROM device drive.
XRunSabre in sabre (aka xsabre) 0.2.4b relies on the ability to create /tmp/sabre.log, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (application unavailability) by creating a /tmp/sabre.log file that cannot be overwritten.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: do not ASSERT() if the newly created subvolume already got read [BUG] There is a syzbot crash, triggered by the ASSERT() during subvolume creation: assertion failed: !anon_dev, in fs/btrfs/disk-io.c:1319 ------------[ cut here ]------------ kernel BUG at fs/btrfs/disk-io.c:1319! invalid opcode: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP KASAN RIP: 0010:btrfs_get_root_ref.part.0+0x9aa/0xa60 <TASK> btrfs_get_new_fs_root+0xd3/0xf0 create_subvol+0xd02/0x1650 btrfs_mksubvol+0xe95/0x12b0 __btrfs_ioctl_snap_create+0x2f9/0x4f0 btrfs_ioctl_snap_create+0x16b/0x200 btrfs_ioctl+0x35f0/0x5cf0 __x64_sys_ioctl+0x19d/0x210 do_syscall_64+0x3f/0xe0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x63/0x6b ---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]--- [CAUSE] During create_subvol(), after inserting root item for the newly created subvolume, we would trigger btrfs_get_new_fs_root() to get the btrfs_root of that subvolume. The idea here is, we have preallocated an anonymous device number for the subvolume, thus we can assign it to the new subvolume. But there is really nothing preventing things like backref walk to read the new subvolume. If that happens before we call btrfs_get_new_fs_root(), the subvolume would be read out, with a new anonymous device number assigned already. In that case, we would trigger ASSERT(), as we really expect no one to read out that subvolume (which is not yet accessible from the fs). But things like backref walk is still possible to trigger the read on the subvolume. Thus our assumption on the ASSERT() is not correct in the first place. [FIX] Fix it by removing the ASSERT(), and just free the @anon_dev, reset it to 0, and continue. If the subvolume tree is read out by something else, it should have already get a new anon_dev assigned thus we only need to free the preallocated one.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: riscv: Sparse-Memory/vmemmap out-of-bounds fix Offset vmemmap so that the first page of vmemmap will be mapped to the first page of physical memory in order to ensure that vmemmap’s bounds will be respected during pfn_to_page()/page_to_pfn() operations. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbdev: savage: Error out if pixclock equals zero The userspace program could pass any values to the driver through ioctl() interface. If the driver doesn't check the value of pixclock, it may cause divide-by-zero error. Although pixclock is checked in savagefb_decode_var(), but it is not checked properly in savagefb_probe(). Fix this by checking whether pixclock is zero in the function savagefb_check_var() before info->var.pixclock is used as the divisor. This is similar to CVE-2022-3061 in i740fb which was fixed by commit 15cf0b8.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: usb-storage: Prevent divide-by-0 error in isd200_ata_command The isd200 sub-driver in usb-storage uses the HEADS and SECTORS values in the ATA ID information to calculate cylinder and head values when creating a CDB for READ or WRITE commands. The calculation involves division and modulus operations, which will cause a crash if either of these values is 0. While this never happens with a genuine device, it could happen with a flawed or subversive emulation, as reported by the syzbot fuzzer. Protect against this possibility by refusing to bind to the device if either the ATA_ID_HEADS or ATA_ID_SECTORS value in the device's ID information is 0. This requires isd200_Initialization() to return a negative error code when initialization fails; currently it always returns 0 (even when there is an error).
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clk: Fix clk_core_get NULL dereference It is possible for clk_core_get to dereference a NULL in the following sequence: clk_core_get() of_clk_get_hw_from_clkspec() __of_clk_get_hw_from_provider() __clk_get_hw() __clk_get_hw() can return NULL which is dereferenced by clk_core_get() at hw->core. Prior to commit dde4eff47c82 ("clk: Look for parents with clkdev based clk_lookups") the check IS_ERR_OR_NULL() was performed which would have caught the NULL. Reading the description of this function it talks about returning NULL but that cannot be so at the moment. Update the function to check for hw before dereferencing it and return NULL if hw is NULL.
A list management bug in BSS handling in the mac80211 stack in the Linux kernel 5.1 through 5.19.x before 5.19.16 could be used by local attackers (able to inject WLAN frames) to corrupt a linked list and, in turn, potentially execute code.
Stack-based buffer overflow in hw/usb/redirect.c in QEMU (aka Quick Emulator) allows local guest OS users to cause a denial of service (QEMU process crash) via vectors related to logging debug messages.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ARM: ep93xx: Add terminator to gpiod_lookup_table Without the terminator, if a con_id is passed to gpio_find() that does not exist in the lookup table the function will not stop looping correctly, and eventually cause an oops.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ice: Fix potential NULL pointer dereference in ice_bridge_setlink() The function ice_bridge_setlink() may encounter a NULL pointer dereference if nlmsg_find_attr() returns NULL and br_spec is dereferenced subsequently in nla_for_each_nested(). To address this issue, add a check to ensure that br_spec is not NULL before proceeding with the nested attribute iteration.
In the Linux kernel 5.8 through 5.19.x before 5.19.16, local attackers able to inject WLAN frames into the mac80211 stack could cause a NULL pointer dereference denial-of-service attack against the beacon protection of P2P devices.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: fix race condition on enabling fast-xmit fast-xmit must only be enabled after the sta has been uploaded to the driver, otherwise it could end up passing the not-yet-uploaded sta via drv_tx calls to the driver, leading to potential crashes because of uninitialized drv_priv data. Add a missing sta->uploaded check and re-check fast xmit after inserting a sta.
Xenstore: Guests can create orphaned Xenstore nodes By creating multiple nodes inside a transaction resulting in an error, a malicious guest can create orphaned nodes in the Xenstore data base, as the cleanup after the error will not remove all nodes already created. When the transaction is committed after this situation, nodes without a valid parent can be made permanent in the data base.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: inet: read sk->sk_family once in inet_recv_error() inet_recv_error() is called without holding the socket lock. IPv6 socket could mutate to IPv4 with IPV6_ADDRFORM socket option and trigger a KCSAN warning.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clk: qcom: mmcc-apq8084: fix terminating of frequency table arrays The frequency table arrays are supposed to be terminated with an empty element. Add such entry to the end of the arrays where it is missing in order to avoid possible out-of-bound access when the table is traversed by functions like qcom_find_freq() or qcom_find_freq_floor(). Only compile tested.
Guests can trigger deadlock in Linux netback driver T[his CNA information record relates to multiple CVEs; the text explains which aspects/vulnerabilities correspond to which CVE.] The patch for XSA-392 introduced another issue which might result in a deadlock when trying to free the SKB of a packet dropped due to the XSA-392 handling (CVE-2022-42328). Additionally when dropping packages for other reasons the same deadlock could occur in case of netpoll being active for the interface the xen-netback driver is connected to (CVE-2022-42329).
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/srpt: Support specifying the srpt_service_guid parameter Make loading ib_srpt with this parameter set work. The current behavior is that setting that parameter while loading the ib_srpt kernel module triggers the following kernel crash: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000000 Call Trace: <TASK> parse_one+0x18c/0x1d0 parse_args+0xe1/0x230 load_module+0x8de/0xa60 init_module_from_file+0x8b/0xd0 idempotent_init_module+0x181/0x240 __x64_sys_finit_module+0x5a/0xb0 do_syscall_64+0x5f/0xe0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x6e/0x76
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: IB/hfi1: Fix a memleak in init_credit_return When dma_alloc_coherent fails to allocate dd->cr_base[i].va, init_credit_return should deallocate dd->cr_base and dd->cr_base[i] that allocated before. Or those resources would be never freed and a memleak is triggered.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nft_chain_filter: handle NETDEV_UNREGISTER for inet/ingress basechain Remove netdevice from inet/ingress basechain in case NETDEV_UNREGISTER event is reported, otherwise a stale reference to netdevice remains in the hook list.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_tables: disallow anonymous set with timeout flag Anonymous sets are never used with timeout from userspace, reject this. Exception to this rule is NFT_SET_EVAL to ensure legacy meters still work.
Xenstore: Guests can create arbitrary number of nodes via transactions T[his CNA information record relates to multiple CVEs; the text explains which aspects/vulnerabilities correspond to which CVE.] In case a node has been created in a transaction and it is later deleted in the same transaction, the transaction will be terminated with an error. As this error is encountered only when handling the deleted node at transaction finalization, the transaction will have been performed partially and without updating the accounting information. This will enable a malicious guest to create arbitrary number of nodes.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: imx: csc/scaler: fix v4l2_ctrl_handler memory leak Free the memory allocated in v4l2_ctrl_handler_init on release.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hv_netvsc: Register VF in netvsc_probe if NET_DEVICE_REGISTER missed If hv_netvsc driver is unloaded and reloaded, the NET_DEVICE_REGISTER handler cannot perform VF register successfully as the register call is received before netvsc_probe is finished. This is because we register register_netdevice_notifier() very early( even before vmbus_driver_register()). To fix this, we try to register each such matching VF( if it is visible as a netdevice) at the end of netvsc_probe.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: amdkfd: use calloc instead of kzalloc to avoid integer overflow This uses calloc instead of doing the multiplication which might overflow.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_core: Fix possible buffer overflow struct hci_dev_info has a fixed size name[8] field so in the event that hdev->name is bigger than that strcpy would attempt to write past its size, so this fixes this problem by switching to use strscpy.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Fix potential NULL pointer dereferences in 'dcn10_set_output_transfer_func()' The 'stream' pointer is used in dcn10_set_output_transfer_func() before the check if 'stream' is NULL. Fixes the below: drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/hwss/dcn10/dcn10_hwseq.c:1892 dcn10_set_output_transfer_func() warn: variable dereferenced before check 'stream' (see line 1875)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: v4l2-mem2mem: fix a memleak in v4l2_m2m_register_entity The entity->name (i.e. name) is allocated in v4l2_m2m_register_entity but isn't freed in its following error-handling paths. This patch adds such deallocation to prevent memleak of entity->name.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: stmmac: xgmac: fix handling of DPP safety error for DMA channels Commit 56e58d6c8a56 ("net: stmmac: Implement Safety Features in XGMAC core") checks and reports safety errors, but leaves the Data Path Parity Errors for each channel in DMA unhandled at all, lead to a storm of interrupt. Fix it by checking and clearing the DMA_DPP_Interrupt_Status register.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clk: qcom: gcc-ipq8074: fix terminating of frequency table arrays The frequency table arrays are supposed to be terminated with an empty element. Add such entry to the end of the arrays where it is missing in order to avoid possible out-of-bound access when the table is traversed by functions like qcom_find_freq() or qcom_find_freq_floor(). Only compile tested.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: avoid allocating blocks from corrupted group in ext4_mb_find_by_goal() Places the logic for checking if the group's block bitmap is corrupt under the protection of the group lock to avoid allocating blocks from the group with a corrupted block bitmap.
