A vulnerability in the received packet parser of Cisco Expressway Series and Cisco TelePresence Video Communication Server (VCS) software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a reload of the affected system, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability is due to insufficient size validation of user-supplied data. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted H.224 data in Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) packets in an H.323 call. An exploit could allow the attacker to overflow a buffer in a cache that belongs to the received packet parser, which will result in a crash of the application, resulting in a DoS condition. All versions of Cisco Expressway Series Software and Cisco TelePresence VCS Software prior to version X8.8.2 are vulnerable. Cisco has released software updates that address this vulnerability. There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability. Cisco Bug IDs: CSCus99263.
A vulnerability in the Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) decoder of the Cisco NetFlow Generation Appliance (NGA) with software before 1.1(1a) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the device to hang or unexpectedly reload, causing a denial of service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability is due to incomplete validation of SCTP packets being monitored on the NGA data ports. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending malformed SCTP packets on a network that is monitored by an NGA data port. SCTP packets addressed to the IP address of the NGA itself will not trigger this vulnerability. An exploit could allow the attacker to cause the appliance to become unresponsive or reload, causing a DoS condition. User interaction could be needed to recover the device using the reboot command from the CLI. The following Cisco NetFlow Generation Appliances are vulnerable: NGA 3140, NGA 3240, NGA 3340. Cisco Bug IDs: CSCvc83320.
Dovecot before version 2.2.29 is vulnerable to a denial of service. When 'dict' passdb and userdb were used for user authentication, the username sent by the IMAP/POP3 client was sent through var_expand() to perform %variable expansion. Sending specially crafted %variable fields could result in excessive memory usage causing the process to crash (and restart), or excessive CPU usage causing all authentications to hang.

An issue was discovered in Enigmail before 1.9.9. Regular expressions are exploitable for Denial of Service, because of attempts to match arbitrarily long strings, aka TBE-01-003.
A vulnerability in the software-based SSL/TLS message handler of Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause an affected device to reload, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition. This vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of SSL/TLS messages when the device performs software-based SSL/TLS decryption. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted SSL/TLS message to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the affected device to reload, resulting in a DoS condition. Note: Datagram TLS (DTLS) messages cannot be used to exploit this vulnerability.
Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances (ASA) 5500 series devices, and the ASA Services Module (ASASM) in Cisco Catalyst 6500 series devices, with software 7.0 through 7.2 before 7.2(5.7), 8.0 before 8.0(5.27), 8.1 before 8.1(2.53), 8.2 before 8.2(5.8), 8.3 before 8.3(2.25), 8.4 before 8.4(2.5), and 8.5 before 8.5(1.2) and the Firewall Services Module (FWSM) 3.1 and 3.2 before 3.2(23) and 4.0 and 4.1 before 4.1(8) in Cisco Catalyst 6500 series devices, when multicast routing is enabled, allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (device reload) via a crafted IPv4 PIM message, aka Bug IDs CSCtr47517 and CSCtu97367.
Data can be copied without validation in the built-in web server in Moxa NPort IAW5000A-I/O series firmware version 2.2 or earlier, which may allow a remote attacker to cause denial-of-service conditions.
The rose_parse_ccitt function in net/rose/rose_subr.c in the Linux kernel before 2.6.39 does not validate the FAC_CCITT_DEST_NSAP and FAC_CCITT_SRC_NSAP fields, which allows remote attackers to (1) cause a denial of service (integer underflow, heap memory corruption, and panic) via a small length value in data sent to a ROSE socket, or (2) conduct stack-based buffer overflow attacks via a large length value in data sent to a ROSE socket.

Decamelize is used to convert a dash/dot/underscore/space separated string to camelCase. Decamelize 1.1.0 through 1.1.1 uses regular expressions to evaluate a string and takes unescaped separator values, which can be used to create a denial of service attack.
On BIG-IP 14.0.0-14.0.0.2, 13.0.0-13.1.1.1, or 12.1.0-12.1.3.6, malicious requests made to virtual servers with an HTTP profile can cause the TMM to restart. The issue is exposed with the non-default "normalize URI" configuration options used in iRules and/or BIG-IP LTM policies.
In the Ox gem 2.8.0 for Ruby, the process crashes with a segmentation fault when a crafted input is supplied to parse_obj. NOTE: the vendor has stated "Ox should handle the error more gracefully" but has not confirmed a security implication.
In Flexense SysGauge Server 3.6.18, the Control Protocol suffers from a denial of service. The attack vector is a crafted SERVER_GET_INFO packet sent to control port 9221.
Huawei IPS Module V500R001C00, NGFW Module V500R001C00, NIP6300 V500R001C00, NIP6600 V500R001C00, Secospace USG6300 V500R001C00, Secospace USG6500 V500R001C00, Secospace USG6600 V500R001C00, USG9500 V500R001C00 have an insufficient input validation vulnerability. An unauthenticated, remote attacker could send specific MPLS Echo Request messages to the target products. Due to insufficient input validation of some parameters in the messages, successful exploit may cause the device to reset.
Node.js before 4.8.5, 6.x before 6.11.5, and 8.x before 8.8.0 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (uncaught exception and crash) by leveraging a change in the zlib module 1.2.9 making 8 an invalid value for the windowBits parameter.
IBM i OSPF 6.1, 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3 is vulnerable when a rogue router spoofs its origin. Routing tables are affected by a missing LSA, which may lead to loss of connectivity. IBM X-Force ID: 128379.
Exploitable denial of service vulnerabilities exists in the Service Agent functionality of Moxa EDR-810 V4.1 build 17030317. A specially crafted packet can cause a denial of service. An attacker can send a large packet to 4000/tcp to trigger this vulnerability.
In Android for MSM, Firefox OS for MSM, QRD Android, with all Android releases from CAF using the Linux kernel, a length variable which is used to copy data has a size of only 8 bits and can be exceeded resulting in a denial of service.
Huawei S5700 and S6700 with software of V200R005C00 have a DoS vulnerability due to insufficient validation of the Network Quality Analysis (NQA) packets. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending malformed NQA packets to the target device. Successful exploitation could make the device restart.
The Odoo Community Association (OCA) dbfilter_from_header module makes Odoo 8.x, 9.x, 10.x, and 11.x vulnerable to ReDoS (regular expression denial of service) under certain circumstances.
In Tidy 5.5.31, the IsURLCodePoint function in attrs.c allows attackers to cause a denial of service (Segmentation Fault), as demonstrated by an invalid ISALNUM argument.
A denial of service vulnerability in the Android media framework (libhevc). Product: Android. Versions: 6.0, 6.0.1. Android ID: A-71567394.
A vulnerability in the Android media framework (libvpx) related to odd frame width. Product: Android. Versions: 7.0, 7.1.1, 7.1.2, 8.0, 8.1. Android ID: A-64710201.
A vulnerability in the Android media framework (libavc) related to incorrect use of mmco parameters. Product: Android. Versions: 7.0, 7.1.1, 7.1.2, 8.0, 8.1. Android ID: A-65735716.
In Wireshark 2.4.0, 2.2.0 to 2.2.8, and 2.0.0 to 2.0.14, the MSDP dissector could go into an infinite loop. This was addressed in epan/dissectors/packet-msdp.c by adding length validation.
In the pjsip channel driver (res_pjsip) in Asterisk 13.x before 13.17.1 and 14.x before 14.6.1, a carefully crafted tel URI in a From, To, or Contact header could cause Asterisk to crash.
In dnsmasq before 2.78, if the DNS packet size does not match the expected size, the size parameter in a memset call gets a negative value. As it is an unsigned value, memset ends up writing up to 0xffffffff zero's (0xffffffffffffffff in 64 bit platforms), making dnsmasq crash.
A vulnerability in the Android media framework (ex) related to composition of frames lacking a color map. Product: Android. Versions: 7.0, 7.1.1, 7.1.2, 8.0, 8.1. Android ID: A-68399117.
