IBM WebSphere Portal 7.0, 8.0, 8.5, and 9.0 may fail to set the correct user context in certain impersonation scenarios, which can allow a user to act with the identity of a different user. IBM X-Force ID: 144958.
Authentication Bypass by Primary Weakness in GitHub repository ikus060/rdiffweb prior to 2.5.5.
An issue was discovered in phpMyAdmin 4.8.x before 4.8.2, in which an attacker can include (view and potentially execute) files on the server. The vulnerability comes from a portion of code where pages are redirected and loaded within phpMyAdmin, and an improper test for whitelisted pages. An attacker must be authenticated, except in the "$cfg['AllowArbitraryServer'] = true" case (where an attacker can specify any host he/she is already in control of, and execute arbitrary code on phpMyAdmin) and the "$cfg['ServerDefault'] = 0" case (which bypasses the login requirement and runs the vulnerable code without any authentication).
A certain Red Hat patch for SquirrelMail 1.4.8 sets the same SQMSESSID cookie value for all sessions, which allows remote authenticated users to access other users' folder lists and configuration data in opportunistic circumstances by using the standard webmail.php interface. NOTE: this vulnerability exists because of an incorrect fix for CVE-2008-3663.
A vulnerability was found in Apereo CAS 6.6. It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown part of the file /login?service of the component 2FA. The manipulation leads to improper authentication. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
An improper password check exists in the login functionality of WWBN AVideo 11.6 and dev master commit 3f7c0364. An attacker that owns a users' password hash will be able to use it to directly login into the account, leading to increased privileges.
A vulnerability in the Cisco Umbrella API could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to view and modify data across their organization and other organizations. The vulnerability is due to insufficient authentication configurations for the API interface of Cisco Umbrella. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to view and potentially modify data for their organization or other organizations. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to read or modify data across multiple organizations.
A vulnerability in the Cisco IOS XE Software REST API could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to bypass API authorization checks and use the API to perform privileged actions on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to insufficient authorization checks for requests that are sent to the REST API of the affected software. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a malicious request to an affected device via the REST API. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to selectively bypass authorization checks for the REST API of the affected software and use the API to perform privileged actions on an affected device. Cisco Bug IDs: CSCuz56428.
If RSH service is enabled on Junos OS and if the PAM authentication is disabled, a remote unauthenticated attacker can obtain root access to the device. RSH service is disabled by default on Junos. There is no documented CLI command to enable this service. However, an undocumented CLI command allows a privileged Junos user to enable RSH service and disable PAM, and hence expose the system to unauthenticated root access. When RSH is enabled, the device is listing to RSH connections on port 514. This issue is not exploitable on platforms where Junos release is based on FreeBSD 10+. Affected releases are Juniper Networks Junos OS: 12.1X46 versions prior to 12.1X46-D77 on SRX Series; 12.3 versions prior to 12.3R12-S10; 12.3X48 versions prior to 12.3X48-D75 on SRX Series; 14.1X53 versions prior to 14.1X53-D47 on QFX/EX Series; 15.1 versions prior to 15.1R4-S9, 15.1R6-S6, 15.1R7; 15.1X49 versions prior to 15.1X49-D131, 15.1X49-D140 on SRX Series; 15.1X53 versions prior to 15.1X53-D59 on EX2300/EX3400 Series; 15.1X53 versions prior to 15.1X53-D67 on QFX10K Series; 15.1X53 versions prior to 15.1X53-D233 on QFX5200/QFX5110 Series; 15.1X53 versions prior to 15.1X53-D471, 15.1X53-D490 on NFX Series; 16.1 versions prior to 16.1R3-S9, 16.1R4-S9, 16.1R5-S4, 16.1R6-S4, 16.1R7; 16.2 versions prior to 16.2R2-S5; 17.1 versions prior to 17.1R1-S7, 17.1R2-S7, 17.1R3; 17.2 versions prior to 17.2R1-S6, 17.2R2-S4, 17.2R3; 17.2X75 versions prior to 17.2X75-D110, 17.2X75-D91; 17.3 versions prior to 17.3R1-S4, 17.3R2-S2, 17.3R3; 17.4 versions prior to 17.4R1-S3, 17.4R2; 18.2X75 versions prior to 18.2X75-D5.
cPanel before 55.9999.141 allows attackers to bypass Two Factor Authentication via DNS clustering requests (SEC-93).
A flaw was found in the Pacemaker configuration tool (pcs). The pcs daemon was allowing expired accounts, and accounts with expired passwords to login when using PAM authentication. Therefore, unprivileged expired accounts that have been denied access could still login.
Huawei Video Content Management (VCM) before V100R001C10SPC001 does not properly "authenticate online user identities and privileges," which allows remote authenticated users to gain privileges and perform a case operation as another user via a crafted message, aka "Horizontal Privilege Escalation Vulnerability."
The API on Fisher-Price Smart Toy Bear devices allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information or modify data by leveraging presence in an 802.11 network's coverage area and entering an account number.
VMware Horizon DaaS (7.x before 8.0.0) contains a broken authentication vulnerability that may allow an attacker to bypass two-factor authentication. Note: In order to exploit this issue, an attacker must have a legitimate account on Horizon DaaS.
The SASL authentication functionality in 389 Directory Server before 1.2.11.26 allows remote authenticated users to connect as an arbitrary user and gain privileges via the authzid parameter in a SASL/GSSAPI bind.
django-mfa3 is a library that implements multi factor authentication for the django web framework. It achieves this by modifying the regular login view. Django however has a second login view for its admin area. This second login view was not modified, so the multi factor authentication can be bypassed. Users are affected if they have activated both django-mfa3 (< 0.5.0) and django.contrib.admin and have not taken any other measures to prevent users from accessing the admin login view. The issue has been fixed in django-mfa3 0.5.0. It is possible to work around the issue by overwriting the admin login route, e.g. by adding the following URL definition *before* the admin routes: url('admin/login/', lambda request: redirect(settings.LOGIN_URL)
An authentication issue was addressed with improved state management. This issue is fixed in macOS Mojave 10.14.5. A user may be unexpectedly logged in to another user’s account.
Session fixation vulnerability in phpFreeChat 1.1 allows remote authenticated users to hijack web sessions by setting the session_id parameter to match the victim's nickid parameter.
Unspecified vulnerability in the Sun Java System Web Server 7.0 plugin in Sun N1 Service Provisioning System (SPS) 5.2 and 6.0 allows remote authenticated SPS users to gain administrative access to the web server via unknown attack vectors.
In Apache Zeppelin prior to 0.8.0 the cron scheduler was enabled by default and could allow users to run paragraphs as other users without authentication.
Attackers can access the CGE account management function without privilege for permission elevation and execute arbitrary commands or files after obtaining user permissions.
capsule-proxy is a reverse proxy for Capsule Operator which provides multi-tenancy in Kubernetes. In versions prior to 0.2.1 an attacker with a proper authentication mechanism may use a malicious `Connection` header to start a privilege escalation attack towards the Kubernetes API Server. This vulnerability allows for an exploit of the `cluster-admin` Role bound to `capsule-proxy`. There are no known workarounds for this issue.
Advanced Authentication versions prior to 6.3 SP4 have a potential broken authentication due to improper session management issue.
prosody before versions 0.10.2, 0.9.14 is vulnerable to an Authentication Bypass. Prosody did not verify that the virtual host associated with a user session remained the same across stream restarts. A user may authenticate to XMPP host A and migrate their authenticated session to XMPP host B of the same Prosody instance.
cp_memberedit.php in LightBlog 8.4.1.1 does not check for administrative credentials when processing an admin action, which allows remote authenticated users to increase the privileges of any account.
The FusionSphere OpenStack V100R006C00SPC102(NFV) has an improper authentication vulnerability. Due to improper authentication on one port, an authenticated, remote attacker may exploit the vulnerability to execute more operations by send a crafted rest message.
Siemens RUGGEDCOM ROX I (all versions) allow an authenticated user to bypass access restrictions in the web interface at port 10000/TCP to obtain privileged file system access or change configuration settings.
NodeBB before version 1.14.3 has a bug introduced in version 1.12.2 in the validation logic that makes it possible to change the password of any user on a running NodeBB forum by sending a specially crafted socket.io call to the server. This could lead to a privilege escalation event due via an account takeover. As a workaround you may cherry-pick the following commit from the project's repository to your running instance of NodeBB: 16cee1b03ba3eee177834a1fdac4aa8a12b39d2a. This is fixed in version 1.14.3.
In GitLab before 13.0.12, 13.1.6, and 13.2.3, improper access control was used on the Applications page
Authentication Bypass Using an Alternate Path or Channel in GitHub repository requarks/wiki prior to 2.5.281. User can get root user permissions
cPanel before 55.9999.141 does not perform as two-factor authentication check when possessing another account (SEC-101).
Prima Systems FlexAir, Versions 2.3.38 and prior. The application allows improper authentication using the MD5 hash value of the password, which may allow an attacker with access to the database to login as admin without decrypting the password.
An Access Control vulnerability exists in Nacos 2.0.3 in the access prompt page; enter username and password, click on login to capture packets and then change the returned package, which lets a malicious user login.
Flask-AppBuilder is a development framework built on top of Flask. Verions prior to 3.3.4 contain an improper authentication vulnerability in the REST API. The issue allows for a malicious actor with a carefully crafted request to successfully authenticate and gain access to existing protected REST API endpoints. This only affects non database authentication types and new REST API endpoints. Users should upgrade to Flask-AppBuilder 3.3.4 to receive a patch.
Learnsite 1.2.5.0 contains a remote privilege escalation vulnerability in /Manager/index.aspx through the JudgIsAdmin() function. By modifying the initial letter of the key of a user cookie, the key of the administrator cookie can be obtained.
Broken Authentication in Atlassian Connect Spring Boot (ACSB) in version 1.1.0 before 2.1.3 and from version 2.1.4 before 2.1.5: Atlassian Connect Spring Boot is a Java Spring Boot package for building Atlassian Connect apps. Authentication between Atlassian products and the Atlassian Connect Spring Boot app occurs with a server-to-server JWT or a context JWT. Atlassian Connect Spring Boot versions 1.1.0 before 2.1.3 and versions 2.1.4 before 2.1.5 erroneously accept context JWTs in lifecycle endpoints (such as installation) where only server-to-server JWTs should be accepted, permitting an attacker to send authenticated re-installation events to an app.
An authentication flaw was found in ceph in versions before 14.2.20. When the monitor handles CEPHX_GET_AUTH_SESSION_KEY requests, it doesn't sanitize other_keys, allowing key reuse. An attacker who can request a global_id can exploit the ability of any user to request a global_id previously associated with another user, as ceph does not force the reuse of old keys to generate new ones. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity as well as system availability.
As of v1.5.0, the default admin password is set to the argocd-server pod name. For insiders with access to the cluster or logs, this issue could be abused for privilege escalation, as Argo has privileged roles. A malicious insider is the most realistic threat, but pod names are not meant to be kept secret and could wind up just about anywhere.
IBM Event Streams 10.0.0 could allow an authenticated user to perform tasks to a schema due to improper authentication validation. IBM X-Force ID: 186233.
