NVIDIA GPU display driver for Windows and Linux contains a vulnerability where referencing memory after it has been freed can lead to denial of service or data tampering.
A use-after-free flaw was found in lan78xx_disconnect in drivers/net/usb/lan78xx.c in the network sub-component, net/usb/lan78xx in the Linux Kernel. This flaw allows a local attacker to crash the system when the LAN78XX USB device detaches.
A heap use-after-free flaw was found in coders/bmp.c in ImageMagick.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_core: Fix leaking sent_cmd skb sent_cmd memory is not freed before freeing hci_dev causing it to leak it contents.
Missing lock check in SynHsaService may create a use-after-free condition which causes abnormal termination of the service, resulting in denial of service for the Synaptics Hardware Support App.
The CIL compiler in SELinux 3.2 has a use-after-free in __cil_verify_classperms (called from __cil_verify_classpermission and __cil_pre_verify_helper).
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: Fix possible deadlock in rfcomm_sk_state_change syzbot reports a possible deadlock in rfcomm_sk_state_change [1]. While rfcomm_sock_connect acquires the sk lock and waits for the rfcomm lock, rfcomm_sock_release could have the rfcomm lock and hit a deadlock for acquiring the sk lock. Here's a simplified flow: rfcomm_sock_connect: lock_sock(sk) rfcomm_dlc_open: rfcomm_lock() rfcomm_sock_release: rfcomm_sock_shutdown: rfcomm_lock() __rfcomm_dlc_close: rfcomm_k_state_change: lock_sock(sk) This patch drops the sk lock before calling rfcomm_dlc_open to avoid the possible deadlock and holds sk's reference count to prevent use-after-free after rfcomm_dlc_open completes.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFC: port100: fix use-after-free in port100_send_complete Syzbot reported UAF in port100_send_complete(). The root case is in missing usb_kill_urb() calls on error handling path of ->probe function. port100_send_complete() accesses devm allocated memory which will be freed on probe failure. We should kill this urbs before returning an error from probe function to prevent reported use-after-free Fail log: BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in port100_send_complete+0x16e/0x1a0 drivers/nfc/port100.c:935 Read of size 1 at addr ffff88801bb59540 by task ksoftirqd/2/26 ... In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/mm, kexec, ima: Use memblock_free_late() from ima_free_kexec_buffer() The code calling ima_free_kexec_buffer() runs long after the memblock allocator has already been torn down, potentially resulting in a use after free in memblock_isolate_range(). With KASAN or KFENCE, this use after free will result in a BUG from the idle task, and a subsequent kernel panic. Switch ima_free_kexec_buffer() over to memblock_free_late() to avoid that bug.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: fix potential use after free in nilfs_gccache_submit_read_data() In nilfs_gccache_submit_read_data(), brelse(bh) is called to drop the reference count of bh when the call to nilfs_dat_translate() fails. If the reference count hits 0 and its owner page gets unlocked, bh may be freed. However, bh->b_page is dereferenced to put the page after that, which may result in a use-after-free bug. This patch moves the release operation after unlocking and putting the page. NOTE: The function in question is only called in GC, and in combination with current userland tools, address translation using DAT does not occur in that function, so the code path that causes this issue will not be executed. However, it is possible to run that code path by intentionally modifying the userland GC library or by calling the GC ioctl directly. [konishi.ryusuke@gmail.com: NOTE added to the commit log]
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfc: pn533: Wait for out_urb's completion in pn533_usb_send_frame() Fix a use-after-free that occurs in hcd when in_urb sent from pn533_usb_send_frame() is completed earlier than out_urb. Its callback frees the skb data in pn533_send_async_complete() that is used as a transfer buffer of out_urb. Wait before sending in_urb until the callback of out_urb is called. To modify the callback of out_urb alone, separate the complete function of out_urb and ack_urb. Found by a modified version of syzkaller. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/i915: Fix potential context UAFs gem_context_register() makes the context visible to userspace, and which point a separate thread can trigger the I915_GEM_CONTEXT_DESTROY ioctl. So we need to ensure that nothing uses the ctx ptr after this. And we need to ensure that adding the ctx to the xarray is the *last* thing that gem_context_register() does with the ctx pointer. A use-after-free flaw was found in the MegaRAID emulator of QEMU. This issue occurs while processing SCSI I/O requests in the case of an error mptsas_free_request() that does not dequeue the request object 'req' from a pending requests queue. This flaw allows a privileged guest user to crash the QEMU process on the host, resulting in a denial of service. Versions between 2.10.0 and 5.2.0 are potentially affected.

An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel 5.10.x before 5.10.155. A use-after-free in io_sqpoll_wait_sq in fs/io_uring.c allows an attacker to crash the kernel, resulting in denial of service. finish_wait can be skipped. An attack can occur in some situations by forking a process and then quickly terminating it. NOTE: later kernel versions, such as the 5.15 longterm series, substantially changed the implementation of io_sqpoll_wait_sq.
A use after free was found in igc_reloc_struct_ptr() of psi/igc.c of ghostscript-9.25. A local attacker could supply a specially crafted PDF file to cause a denial of service.
Quick Emulator (Qemu) built with the 'chardev' backend support is vulnerable to a use after free issue. It could occur while hotplug and unplugging the device in the guest. A guest user/process could use this flaw to crash a Qemu process on the host resulting in DoS.

A potential use-after-free vulnerability was reported in the Lenovo View driver that could result in denial of service.
A use after free vulnerability exists in GPAC version 2.3-DEV-revrelease, specifically in the gf_filterpacket_del function in filter_core/filter.c at line 38. This vulnerability can lead to a double-free condition, which may cause the application to crash.
Use after free in some Intel(R) Graphics Drivers before version 15.33.51.5146 may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable denial of service via local access.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/migrate_device: don't add folio to be freed to LRU in migrate_device_finalize() If migration succeeded, we called folio_migrate_flags()->mem_cgroup_migrate() to migrate the memcg from the old to the new folio. This will set memcg_data of the old folio to 0. Similarly, if migration failed, memcg_data of the dst folio is left unset. If we call folio_putback_lru() on such folios (memcg_data == 0), we will add the folio to be freed to the LRU, making memcg code unhappy. Vim is an improved version of the good old UNIX editor Vi. Heap-use-after-free in memory allocated in the function `ga_grow_inner` in in the file `src/alloc.c` at line 748, which is freed in the file `src/ex_docmd.c` in the function `do_cmdline` at line 1010 and then used again in `src/cmdhist.c` at line 759. When using the `:history` command, it's possible that the provided argument overflows the accepted value. Causing an Integer Overflow and potentially later an use-after-free. This vulnerability has been patched in version 9.0.2068.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's implementation of GRO in versions before 5.2. This flaw allows an attacker with local access to crash the system.
The __do_follow_link function in fs/namei.c in the Linux kernel before 2.6.33 does not properly handle the last pathname component during use of certain filesystems, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (incorrect free operations and system crash) via an open system call.
Use after free in some Intel(R) Graphics Driver before version 27.20.100.8336, 15.45.33.5164, and 15.40.47.5166 may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable denial of service via local access.
A use-after-free vulnerability was found in the cyttsp4_core driver in the Linux kernel. This issue occurs in the device cleanup routine due to a possible rearming of the watchdog_timer from the workqueue. This could allow a local user to crash the system, causing a denial of service.
A use-after-free vulnerability was found in the siano smsusb module in the Linux kernel. The bug occurs during device initialization when the siano device is plugged in. This flaw allows a local user to crash the system, causing a denial of service condition.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: dwc3: gadget: Free gadget structure only after freeing endpoints As part of commit e81a7018d93a ("usb: dwc3: allocate gadget structure dynamically") the dwc3_gadget_release() was added which will free the dwc->gadget structure upon the device's removal when usb_del_gadget_udc() is called in dwc3_gadget_exit(). However, simply freeing the gadget results a dangling pointer situation: the endpoints created in dwc3_gadget_init_endpoints() have their dep->endpoint.ep_list members chained off the list_head anchored at dwc->gadget->ep_list. Thus when dwc->gadget is freed, the first dwc3_ep in the list now has a dangling prev pointer and likewise for the next pointer of the dwc3_ep at the tail of the list. The dwc3_gadget_free_endpoints() that follows will result in a use-after-free when it calls list_del(). This was caught by enabling KASAN and performing a driver unbind. The recent commit 568262bf5492 ("usb: dwc3: core: Add shutdown callback for dwc3") also exposes this as a panic during shutdown. There are a few possibilities to fix this. One could be to perform a list_del() of the gadget->ep_list itself which removes it from the rest of the dwc3_ep chain. Another approach is what this patch does, by splitting up the usb_del_gadget_udc() call into its separate "del" and "put" components. This allows dwc3_gadget_free_endpoints() to be called before the gadget is finally freed with usb_put_gadget().
In FreeBSD 12.1-STABLE before r364644, 11.4-STABLE before r364651, 12.1-RELEASE before p9, 11.4-RELEASE before p3, and 11.3-RELEASE before p13, improper handling in the kernel causes a use-after-free bug by sending large user messages from multiple threads on the same SCTP socket. The use-after-free situation may result in unintended kernel behaviour including a kernel panic.
A use-after-free vulnerability was found in the cxgb4 driver in the Linux kernel. The bug occurs when the cxgb4 device is detaching due to a possible rearming of the flower_stats_timer from the work queue. This flaw allows a local user to crash the system, causing a denial of service condition.
A vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel, where accessing a deallocated instance in printer_ioctl() printer_ioctl() tries to access of a printer_dev instance. However, use-after-free arises because it had been freed by gprinter_free().
QEMU 5.0.0 has a use-after-free in hw/usb/hcd-xhci.c because the usb_packet_map return value is not checked.
Vixie Cron before the 3.0pl1-133 Debian package allows local users to cause a denial of service (use-after-free and daemon crash) because of a force_rescan_user error.
In libstagefright, there is a possible use-after-free due to improper locking. This could lead to local escalation of privilege in the media server with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. Product: AndroidVersions: Android-10Android ID: A-77474014
An issue was discovered in Falco through 0.14.0. A missing indicator for insufficient resources allows local users to bypass the detection engine.

And this might fix a following problem reported by our syzkaller(unreproducible): ================================================================== BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in bfq_do_early_stable_merge block/bfq-iosched.c:5692 [inline] BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in bfq_do_or_sched_stable_merge block/bfq-iosched.c:5805 [inline] BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in bfq_get_queue+0x25b0/0x2610 block/bfq-iosched.c:5889 Write of size 1 at addr ffff888123839eb8 by task kworker/0:1H/18595 CPU: 0 PID: 18595 Comm: kworker/0:1H Tainted: G L 6.6.0-07439-gba2303cacfda #6 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS rel-1.14.0-0-g155821a1990b-prebuilt.qemu.org 04/01/2014 Workqueue: kblockd blk_mq_requeue_work Call Trace: <TASK> __dump_stack lib/dump_stack.c:88 [inline] dump_stack_lvl+0x91/0xf0 lib/dump_stack.c:106 print_address_description mm/kasan/report.c:364 [inline] print_report+0x10d/0x610 mm/kasan/report.c:475 kasan_report+0x8e/0xc0 mm/kasan/report.c:588 bfq_do_early_stable_merge block/bfq-iosched.c:5692 [inline] bfq_do_or_sched_stable_merge block/bfq-iosched.c:5805 [inline] bfq_get_queue+0x25b0/0x2610 block/bfq-iosched.c:5889 bfq_get_bfqq_handle_split+0x169/0x5d0 block/bfq-iosched.c:6757 bfq_init_rq block/bfq-iosched.c:6876 [inline] bfq_insert_request block/bfq-iosched.c:6254 [inline] bfq_insert_requests+0x1112/0x5cf0 block/bfq-iosched.c:6304 blk_mq_insert_request+0x290/0x8d0 block/blk-mq.c:2593 blk_mq_requeue_work+0x6bc/0xa70 block/blk-mq.c:1502 process_one_work kernel/workqueue.c:2627 [inline] process_scheduled_works+0x432/0x13f0 kernel/workqueue.c:2700 worker_thread+0x6f2/0x1160 kernel/workqueue.c:2781 kthread+0x33c/0x440 kernel/kthread.c:388 ret_from_fork+0x4d/0x80 arch/x86/kernel/process.c:147 ret_from_fork_asm+0x1b/0x30 arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:305 </TASK> Allocated by task 20776: kasan_save_stack+0x20/0x40 mm/kasan/common.c:45 kasan_set_track+0x25/0x30 mm/kasan/common.c:52 __kasan_slab_alloc+0x87/0x90 mm/kasan/common.c:328 kasan_slab_alloc include/linux/kasan.h:188 [inline] slab_post_alloc_hook mm/slab.h:763 [inline] slab_alloc_node mm/slub.c:3458 [inline] kmem_cache_alloc_node+0x1a4/0x6f0 mm/slub.c:3503 ioc_create_icq block/blk-ioc.c:370 [inline] ---truncated---
iproute2 before 5.1.0 has a use-after-free in get_netnsid_from_name in ip/ipnetns.c. NOTE: security relevance may be limited to certain uses of setuid that, although not a default, are sometimes a configuration option offered to end users. Even when setuid is used, other factors (such as C library configuration) may block exploitability.
