In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: clear 'kern' flag from fallback sockets The mptcp ULP extension relies on sk->sk_sock_kern being set correctly: It prevents setsockopt(fd, IPPROTO_TCP, TCP_ULP, "mptcp", 6); from working for plain tcp sockets (any userspace-exposed socket). blk-mq: cancel blk-mq dispatch work in both blk_cleanup_queue and disk_release()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: blk-mq: cancel blk-mq dispatch work in both blk_cleanup_queue and disk_release() For avoiding to slow down queue destroy, we don't call blk_mq_quiesce_queue() in blk_cleanup_queue(), instead of delaying to cancel dispatch work in blk_release_queue(). However, this way has caused kernel oops[1], reported by Changhui. The log shows that scsi_device can be freed before running blk_release_queue(), which is expected too since scsi_device is released after the scsi disk is closed and the scsi_device is removed. Fixes the issue by canceling blk-mq dispatch work in both blk_cleanup_queue() and disk_release(): 1) when disk_release() is run, the disk has been closed, and any sync dispatch activities have been done, so canceling dispatch work is enough to quiesce filesystem I/O dispatch activity. 2) in blk_cleanup_queue(), we only focus on passthrough request, and passthrough request is always explicitly allocated & freed by its caller, so once queue is frozen, all sync dispatch activity for passthrough request has been done, then it is enough to just cancel dispatch work for avoiding any dispatch activity. ice: avoid bpf_prog refcount underflow

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: avoid bpf_prog refcount underflow Ice driver has the routines for managing XDP resources that are shared between ndo_bpf op and VSI rebuild flow. The latter takes place for example when user changes queue count on an interface via ethtool's set_channels(). There is an issue around the bpf_prog refcounting when VSI is being rebuilt - since ice_prepare_xdp_rings() is called with vsi->xdp_prog as an argument that is used later on by ice_vsi_assign_bpf_prog(), same bpf_prog pointers are swapped with each other. Then it is also interpreted as an 'old_prog' which in turn causes us to call bpf_prog_put on it that will decrement its refcount. The problem was in wrong mutex_init() location. Previous mutex_init(&state->msg_lock) call was in ->init() function, but dvb_usbv2_init() has this order of calls: dvb_usbv2_init() dvb_usbv2_adapter_init() dvb_usbv2_adapter_frontend_init() props->frontend_attach() props->init() Since mxl111sf_* devices call mxl111sf_ctrl_msg() in ->frontend_attach() internally we need to initialize state->msg_lock before frontend_attach(). To achieve it, ->probe() call added to all mxl111sf_* devices, which will simply initiaize mutex.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/mlx5: Fix mlx5_poll_one() cur_qp update flow When cur_qp isn't NULL, in order to avoid fetching the QP from the radix tree again we check if the next cqe QP is identical to the one we already have. The bug however is that we are checking if the QP is identical by checking the QP number inside the CQE against the QP number inside the mlx5_ib_qp, but that's wrong since the QP number from the CQE is from FW so it should be matched against mlx5_core_qp which is our FW QP number. Otherwise we could use the wrong QP when handling a CQE which could cause the kernel trace below. This issue is mainly noticeable over QPs 0 & 1, since for now they are the only QPs in our driver whereas the QP number inside mlx5_ib_qp doesn't match the QP number inside mlx5_core_qp. Then it triggered a scrub, but since scrub relies on extent tree to find where the data/metadata extents are, scrub_find_fill_first_stripe() relies on an non-empty extent root. But unfortunately scrub_find_fill_first_stripe() doesn't really expect an NULL pointer for extent root, it use extent_root to grab fs_info and triggered a NULL pointer dereference. [FIX] Add an extra check for a valid extent root at the beginning of scrub_find_fill_first_stripe(). The new error path is introduced by 42437a6386ff ("btrfs: introduce mount option rescue=ignorebadroots"), but that's pretty old, and later commit b979547513ff ("btrfs: scrub: introduce helper to find and fill sector info for a scrub_stripe") changed how we do scrub. So for kernels older than 6.6, the fix will need manual backport.

ethtool: ioctl: fix potential NULL deref in ethtool_set_coalesce()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ethtool: ioctl: fix potential NULL deref in ethtool_set_coalesce() ethtool_set_coalesce() now uses both the .get_coalesce() and .set_coalesce() callbacks. But the check for their availability is buggy, so changing the coalesce settings on a device where the driver provides only _one_ of the callbacks results in a NULL pointer dereference instead of an -EOPNOTSUPP. Fix the condition so that the availability of both callbacks is ensured. This also matches the netlink code. Note that reproducing this requires some effort - it only affects the legacy ioctl path, and needs a specific combination of driver options: - have .get_coalesce() and .coalesce_supported but no .set_coalesce(), or - have .set_coalesce() but no .get_coalesce(). Here eg. ethtool doesn't cause the crash as it first attempts to call ethtool_get_coalesce() and bails out on error.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: udmabuf: validate ubuf->pagecount Syzbot has reported GPF in sg_alloc_append_table_from_pages(). The problem was in ubuf->pages == ZERO_PTR. ubuf->pagecount is calculated from arguments passed from user-space. If user creates udmabuf with list.size == 0 then ubuf->pagecount will be also equal to zero; it causes kmalloc_array() to return ZERO_PTR. Fix it by validating ubuf->pagecount before passing it to kmalloc_array().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: qlogic: qlcnic: Fix a NULL pointer dereference in qlcnic_83xx_add_rings() In qlcnic_83xx_add_rings(), the indirect function of ahw->hw_ops->alloc_mbx_args will be called to allocate memory for cmd.req.arg, and there is a dereference of it in qlcnic_83xx_add_rings(), which could lead to a NULL pointer dereference on failure of the indirect function like qlcnic_83xx_alloc_mbx_args(). Fix this bug by adding a check of alloc_mbx_args(), this patch imitates the logic of mbx_cmd()'s failure handling. This bug was found by a static analyzer. The analysis employs differential checking to identify inconsistent security operations (e.g., checks or kfrees) between two code paths and confirms that the inconsistent operations are not recovered in the current function or the callers, so they constitute bugs. Note that, as a bug found by static analysis, it can be a false positive or hard to trigger. Multiple researchers have cross-reviewed the bug. Builds with CONFIG_QLCNIC=m show no new warnings, and our static analyzer no longer warns about this code.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: stmmac: Disable Tx queues when reconfiguring the interface The Tx queues were not disabled in situations where the driver needed to stop the interface to apply a new configuration. This could result in a kernel panic when doing any of the 3 following actions: * reconfiguring the number of queues (ethtool -L) * reconfiguring the size of the ring buffers (ethtool -G) * installing/removing an XDP program (ip l set dev ethX xdp) Prevent the panic by making sure netif_tx_disable is called when stopping an interface. ASoC: soc-compress: prevent the potentially use of null pointer

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: soc-compress: prevent the potentially use of null pointer There is one call trace that snd_soc_register_card() ->snd_soc_bind_card()->soc_init_pcm_runtime() ->snd_soc_dai_compress_new()->snd_soc_new_compress(). In the trace the 'codec_dai' transfers from card->dai_link, and we can see from the snd_soc_add_pcm_runtime() in snd_soc_bind_card() that, if value of card->dai_link->num_codecs is 0, then 'codec_dai' could be null pointer caused by index out of bound in 'asoc_rtd_to_codec(rtd, 0)'. And snd_soc_register_card() is called by various platforms. Therefore, it is better to add the check in the case of misusing. And because 'cpu_dai' has already checked in soc_init_pcm_runtime(), there is no need to check again. Adding the check as follow, then if 'codec_dai' is null, snd_soc_new_compress() will not pass through the check 'if (playback + capture != 1)', avoiding the leftover use of 'codec_dai'.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ovl: fix warning in ovl_create_real() Syzbot triggered the following warning in ovl_workdir_create() -> ovl_create_real(): if (!err && WARN_ON(!newdentry->d_inode)) { The reason is that the cgroup2 filesystem returns from mkdir without instantiating the new dentry. Weird filesystems such as this will be rejected by overlayfs at a later stage during setup, but to prevent such a warning, call ovl_mkdir_real() directly from ovl_workdir_create() and reject this case early.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: never allow the PM to close a listener subflow Currently, when deleting an endpoint the netlink PM treverses all the local MPTCP sockets, regardless of their status. If an MPTCP listener socket is bound to the IP matching the delete endpoint, the listener TCP socket will be closed. That is unexpected, the PM should only affect data subflows.
