In readFrom of Uri.java, there is a possible bad URI permission grant due to improper input validation. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
Exim 4 before 4.94.2 allows Execution with Unnecessary Privileges. Because Exim operates as root in the spool directory (owned by a non-root user), an attacker can write to a /var/spool/exim4/input spool header file, in which a crafted recipient address can indirectly lead to command execution.
Pritunl Client v1.2.2550.20 contains a local privilege escalation vulnerability in the pritunl-service component. The attack vector is: malicious openvpn config. A local attacker could leverage the log and log-append along with log injection to create or append to privileged script files and execute code as root/SYSTEM.
All versions of Windscribe VPN for Mac and Windows <= v2.02.10 contain a local privilege escalation vulnerability in the WindscribeService component. A low privilege user could leverage several openvpn options to execute code as root/SYSTEM.
Dell EMC Isilon OneFS versions 8.1 and later and Dell EMC PowerScale OneFS version 9.0.0 contain a privilege escalation vulnerability on a SmartLock Compliance mode cluster. The compadmin user connecting using ISI PRIV LOGIN SSH or ISI PRIV LOGIN CONSOLE can elevate privileges to the root user if they have ISI PRIV HARDENING privileges.
Dell EMC PowerScale OneFS versions 8.1.0 - 9.1.0 contain a privilege escalation vulnerability. A user with ISI_PRIV_JOB_ENGINE may use the PermissionRepair job to grant themselves the highest level of RBAC privileges thus being able to read arbitrary data, tamper with system software or deny service to users.
An issue was discovered in Xen through 4.14.x. The PCI passthrough code improperly uses register data. Code paths in Xen's MSI handling have been identified that act on unsanitized values read back from device hardware registers. While devices strictly compliant with PCI specifications shouldn't be able to affect these registers, experience shows that it's very common for devices to have out-of-spec "backdoor" operations that can affect the result of these reads. A not fully trusted guest may be able to crash Xen, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS) for the entire system. Privilege escalation and information leaks cannot be excluded. All versions of Xen supporting PCI passthrough are affected. Only x86 systems are vulnerable. Arm systems are not vulnerable. Only guests with passed through PCI devices may be able to leverage the vulnerability. Only systems passing through devices with out-of-spec ("backdoor") functionality can cause issues. Experience shows that such out-of-spec functionality is common; unless you have reason to believe that your device does not have such functionality, it's better to assume that it does.
An issue in mRemoteNG v1.76.20 allows attackers to escalate privileges via a crafted executable file. NOTE: third parties were unable to reproduce any scenario in which the claimed access of BUILTIN\Users:(M) is present.
A local privilege escalation vulnerability was identified within the "luminati_net_updater_win_eagleget_com" service in EagleGet Downloader version 2.1.5.20 Stable. This issue allows authenticated non-administrative user to escalate their privilege and conduct code execution as a SYSTEM privilege.
An insecure temporary file vulnerability in Palo Alto Networks Traps allows a local authenticated Windows user to escalate privileges or overwrite system files. This issue affects Palo Alto Networks Traps 5.0 versions before 5.0.8; 6.1 versions before 6.1.4 on Windows. This issue does not affect Cortex XDR 7.0. This issue does not affect Traps for Linux or MacOS.
An incorrect privilege assignment vulnerability when writing application-specific files in the Palo Alto Networks Global Protect Agent for Linux on ARM platform allows a local authenticated user to gain root privileges on the system. This issue affects Palo Alto Networks Global Protect Agent for Linux 5.0 versions before 5.0.8; 5.1 versions before 5.1.1.
PackageKit's apt backend mistakenly treated all local debs as trusted. The apt security model is based on repository trust and not on the contents of individual files. On sites with configured PolicyKit rules this may allow users to install malicious packages.
An issue was discovered in Acuant AsureID Sentinel before 5.2.149. It allows elevation of privileges because it opens Notepad after the installation of AssureID, Identify x64, and Identify x86, aka CORE-7361.
An issue was discovered in ProlinOS through 2.4.161.8859R. An attacker with local code execution privileges as a normal user (MAINAPP) can escalate to root privileges by exploiting the setuid installation of the xtables-multi binary and leveraging the ip6tables --modprobe switch.
An issue was discovered on NOKIA Airscale ASIKA Single RAN devices before 21B. A mobile network solution internal fault was found in Nokia Single RAN software releases. Certain software processes in the BTS internal software design have unnecessarily high privileges to BTS embedded operating system (OS) resources.
A mobile network solution internal fault is found in Nokia Web Element Manager before 22 R1, in which an authenticated, unprivileged user can execute administrative functions. Exploitation is not possible from outside of mobile network solution architecture. This means that exploit is not possible from mobile network user UEs, from roaming networks, or from the Internet. Exploitation is possible only from a CSP (Communication Service Provider) mobile network solution internal BTS management network.
PC settings tool Ver10.1.26.0 and earlier, PC settings tool Ver11.0.22.0 and earlier allows a attacker to write to the registry as administrator privileges with standard user privileges.
Proofpoint Enterprise Protection (PPS/PoD) contains a vulnerability which allows the pps user to escalate to root privileges due to unnecessary permissions. This affects all versions 8.19.0 and below.
In Sudo before 1.9.12p2, the sudoedit (aka -e) feature mishandles extra arguments passed in the user-provided environment variables (SUDO_EDITOR, VISUAL, and EDITOR), allowing a local attacker to append arbitrary entries to the list of files to process. This can lead to privilege escalation. Affected versions are 1.8.0 through 1.9.12.p1. The problem exists because a user-specified editor may contain a "--" argument that defeats a protection mechanism, e.g., an EDITOR='vim -- /path/to/extra/file' value.
The System Management Mode (SMM) implementation in Dell Latitude E6430 BIOS Revision A09, HP EliteBook 850 G1 BIOS revision L71 Ver. 01.09, and possibly other BIOS implementations does not ensure that function calls operate on SMRAM memory locations, which allows local users to bypass the Secure Boot protection mechanism and gain privileges by leveraging write access to physical memory.
Dell Repository Manager version 3.4.2 and earlier, contain a Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability in Installation module. A local low privileged attacker may potentially exploit this vulnerability leading to the execution of arbitrary executable on the operating system with high privileges using the existing vulnerability in operating system. Exploitation may lead to unavailability of the service.

<p>An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists when the Windows User Profile Service (ProfSvc) improperly handles junction points. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could delete files and folders in an elevated context.</p> <p>To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker would first have to log on to the system. An attacker could then run a specially crafted application that could exploit the vulnerability and delete files or folders of their choosing.</p> <p>The security update addresses the vulnerability by correcting how the Windows User Profile Service handles junction points.</p>
