The D-Link DIR-615 device before v20.12PTb04 doesn't use SSL for any of the authenticated pages. Also, it doesn't allow the user to generate his own SSL Certificate. An attacker can simply monitor network traffic to steal a user's credentials and/or credentials of users being added while sniffing the traffic.
The Scalyr Agent before 2.1.10 has Missing SSL Certificate Validation because, in some circumstances, the openssl binary is called without the -verify_hostname option.
The Motorola MH702x devices, prior to version 2.0.0.301, do not properly verify the server certificate during communication with the support server which could lead to the communication channel being accessible by an attacker.
The Zoom Client for Meetings for Windows in all versions before 5.3.0 fails to properly validate the certificate information used to sign .msi files when performing an update of the client. This could lead to remote code execution in an elevated privileged context.
Hutool v5.7.18's HttpRequest was discovered to ignore all TLS/SSL certificate validation.
offlineimap before 6.3.4 added support for SSL server certificate validation but it is still possible to use SSL v2 protocol, which is a flawed protocol with multiple security deficiencies.
A flaw was found in keylime 5.8.1 and older. The issue in the Keylime agent and registrar code invalidates the cryptographic chain of trust from the Endorsement Key certificate to agent attestations.
HashiCorp Nomad and Nomad Enterprise up to 0.10.2 incorrectly validated role/region associated with TLS certificates used for mTLS RPC, and were susceptible to privilege escalation. Fixed in 0.10.3.
The TLS protocol, and the SSL protocol 3.0 and possibly earlier, as used in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0, mod_ssl in the Apache HTTP Server 2.2.14 and earlier, OpenSSL before 0.9.8l, GnuTLS 2.8.5 and earlier, Mozilla Network Security Services (NSS) 3.12.4 and earlier, multiple Cisco products, and other products, does not properly associate renegotiation handshakes with an existing connection, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to insert data into HTTPS sessions, and possibly other types of sessions protected by TLS or SSL, by sending an unauthenticated request that is processed retroactively by a server in a post-renegotiation context, related to a "plaintext injection" attack, aka the "Project Mogul" issue.
OpenText BizManager before 16.6.0.1 does not perform proper validation during the change-password operation. This allows any authenticated user to change the password of any other user, including the Administrator account.
Sunshine is a self-hosted game stream host for Moonlight. In versions prior to 2026.516.143833, the client-certificate authentication can be bypassed because of how OpenSSL verification results are handled. In src/crypto.cpp, the custom verify callback treats X509_V_ERR_UNABLE_TO_GET_ISSUER_CERT_LOCALLY, X509_V_ERR_CERT_NOT_YET_VALID, and X509_V_ERR_CERT_HAS_EXPIRED as success. This can allow an untrusted certificate to pass authentication and access protected HTTPS endpoints. This issue has been fixed in version 2026.516.143833.
A specially crafted x509 certificate can cause a single out of bounds byte overwrite in wolfSSL through 3.10.2 resulting in potential certificate validation vulnerabilities, denial of service and possible remote code execution. In order to trigger this vulnerability, the attacker needs to supply a malicious x509 certificate to either a server or a client application using this library.
Improper validation of server certificates in Canon EOS Network Setting Tool Version 1.5.0 or earlier
Improper validation of SSH host keys in Canon EOS Network Setting Tool Version 1.5.0 or earlier
strongSwan 5.9.8 and 5.9.9 potentially allows remote code execution because it uses a variable named "public" for two different purposes within the same function. There is initially incorrect access control, later followed by an expired pointer dereference. One attack vector is sending an untrusted client certificate during EAP-TLS. A server is affected only if it loads plugins that implement TLS-based EAP methods (EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, EAP-PEAP, or EAP-TNC). This is fixed in 5.9.10.
A improper certificate validation vulnerability in Fortinet FortiClientEMS 7.4.3 through 7.4.5, FortiClientEMS 7.4.0 through 7.4.1, FortiClientEMS 7.2 all versions may allow attacker to information disclosure via <insert attack vector here>
OpenSSL in Apple Mac OS X 10.6.x before 10.6.5 does not properly perform arithmetic, which allows remote attackers to bypass X.509 certificate authentication via an arbitrary certificate issued by a legitimate Certification Authority.
Incorrect SSL certificate validation in Nagios Fusion 4.1.8 and earlier allows for Escalation of Privileges or Code Execution as root via vectors related to download of an untrusted update package in upgrade_to_latest.sh.
Dell BSAFE Crypto-C Micro Edition, versions before 4.1.5, and Dell BSAFE Micro Edition Suite,Ā versions before 4.5.2, contain a Missing Required Cryptographic Step Vulnerability.
A vulnerability in the integration of single sign-on (SSO) with Control Hub in Cisco Webex Services could have allowed an unauthenticated, remote attacker to impersonate any user within the service. This vulnerability existed because of improper certificate validation. Prior to this vulnerability being addressed, an attacker could have exploited this vulnerability by connecting to a service endpoint and supplying a crafted token. A successful exploit could have allowed the attacker to gain unauthorized access to legitimate Cisco Webex services.
The Scalyr Agent before 2.1.10 has Missing SSL Certificate Validation because, in some circumstances, native Python code is used that lacks a comparison of the hostname to commonName and subjectAltName.
IBM Concert 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 vulnerable to attacks that rely on the use of cookies without the SameSite attribute.
An issue was found in Apache IoTDB .9.0 to 0.9.1 and 0.8.0 to 0.8.2. When starting IoTDB, the JMX port 31999 is exposed with no certification. Then, clients could execute code remotely.
IBM Security Verify Access 10.0.0.0 through 10.0.6.1 uses insecure calls that could allow an attacker on the network to take control of the server. IBM X-Force ID: 254977.
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in cym1102 nginxWebUI up to 3.9.9. This affects the function handlePath of the file /adminPage/conf/saveCmd. The manipulation of the argument nginxPath leads to improper certificate validation. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The identifier VDB-260577 was assigned to this vulnerability.
x509/x509_verify.c in LibreSSL before 3.4.2, and OpenBSD before 7.0 errata 006, allows authentication bypass because an error for an unverified certificate chain is sometimes discarded.
Nanoleaf firmware v7.1.1 and below is missing TLS verification, allowing attackers to execute arbitrary code via a DNS hijacking attack.
ComponentSpace.Saml2 4.4.0 Missing SSL Certificate Validation. NOTE: the vendor does not consider this a vulnerability because the report is only about use of certificates at the application layer (not the transport layer) and "Certificates are exchanged in a controlled fashion between entities within a trust relationship. This is why self-signed certificates may be used and why validating certificates isnāt as important as doing so for the transport layer certificates."
Dell PowerScale OneFS, versions 8.2.x-9.3.x, contains an Improper Certificate Validation vulnerability. An remote unauthenticated attacker could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to a full compromise of the system.
If a user visited a webpage with an invalid TLS certificate, and granted an exception, the webpage was able to provide a WebAuthn challenge that the user would be prompted to complete. This is in violation of the WebAuthN spec which requires "a secure transport established without errors". This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 140 and Thunderbird 140.
Zulip Desktop before 5.2.0 has Missing SSL Certificate Validation because all validation was inadvertently disabled during an attempt to recognize the ignoreCerts option.
A certificate validation issue existed in the handling of WKWebView. This issue was addressed with improved validation. This issue is fixed in tvOS 16.1, iOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura 13, watchOS 9.1. Processing a maliciously crafted certificate may lead to arbitrary code execution.
When using Ingest Actions to configure a destination that resides on Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) in Splunk Web, TLS certificate validation is not correctly performed and tested for the destination. The vulnerability only affects connections between Splunk Enterprise and an Ingest Actions Destination through Splunk Web and only applies to environments that have configured TLS certificate validation. It does not apply to Destinations configured directly in the outputs.conf configuration file. The vulnerability affects Splunk Enterprise version 9.0.0 and does not affect versions below 9.0.0, including the 8.1.x and 8.2.x versions.
An issue was discovered in Keyfactor PrimeKey EJBCA before 7.9.0, related to possible inconsistencies in DNS identifiers submitted in an ACME order and the corresponding CSR submitted during finalization. During the ACME enrollment process, an order is submitted containing an identifier for one or multiple dnsNames. These are validated properly in the ACME challenge. However, if the validation passes, a non-compliant client can include additional dnsNames the CSR sent to the finalize endpoint, resulting in EJBCA issuing a certificate including the identifiers that were not validated. This occurs even if the certificate profile is configured to not allow a DN override by the CSR.
An issue was discovered in Couchbase Sync Gateway 3.x before 3.0.2. Admin credentials are not verified when using X.509 client-certificate authentication from Sync Gateway to Couchbase Server. When Sync Gateway is configured to authenticate with Couchbase Server using X.509 client certificates, the admin credentials provided to the Admin REST API are ignored, resulting in privilege escalation for unauthenticated users. The Public REST API is not impacted by this issue. A workaround is to replace X.509 certificate based authentication with Username and Password authentication inside the bootstrap configuration.
fs2 is a compositional, streaming I/O library for Scala. When establishing a server-mode `TLSSocket` using `fs2-io` on Node.js, the parameter `requestCert = true` is ignored, peer certificate verification is skipped, and the connection proceeds. The vulnerability is limited to: 1. `fs2-io` running on Node.js. The JVM TLS implementation is completely independent. 2. `TLSSocket`s in server-mode. Client-mode `TLSSocket`s are implemented via a different API. 3. mTLS as enabled via `requestCert = true` in `TLSParameters`. The default setting is `false` for server-mode `TLSSocket`s. It was introduced with the initial Node.js implementation of fs2-io in 3.1.0. A patch is released in v3.2.11. The requestCert = true parameter is respected and the peer certificate is verified. If verification fails, a SSLException is raised. If using an unpatched version on Node.js, do not use a server-mode TLSSocket with requestCert = true to establish a mTLS connection.
An improper certificate validation vulnerability exists in ToDesktop Builder v0.32.1 This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated, on-path attacker to spoof backend responses by exploiting insufficient certificate validation.
Xecurify's miniOrange Premium, Standard, and Enterprise Drupal SAML SP modules possess an authentication and authorization bypass vulnerability. An attacker with access to a HTTP-request intercepting method is able to bypass authentication and authorization by removing the SAML Assertion Signature - impersonating existing users and existing roles, including administrative users/roles. This vulnerability is not mitigated by configuring the module to enforce signatures or certificate checks. Xecurify recommends updating miniOrange modules to their most recent versions. This vulnerability is present in paid versions of the miniOrange Drupal SAML SP product affecting Drupal 7, 8, and 9.
Spring Boot's Cassandra auto-configuration does not perform hostname verification when establishing an SSL connection to Cassandra. Affected: Spring Boot 4.0.0ā4.0.5 (fix 4.0.6), 3.5.0ā3.5.13 (fix 3.5.14), 3.4.0ā3.4.15 (fix 3.4.16), 3.3.0ā3.3.18 (fix 3.3.19), 2.7.0ā2.7.32 (fix 2.7.33); Cassandra SSL auto-configuration. Versions that are no longer supported are also affected per vendor advisory.
Envoy is an open source edge and service proxy, designed for cloud-native applications. Envoy's tls allows re-use when some cert validation settings have changed from their default configuration. The only workaround for this issue is to ensure that default tls settings are used. Users are advised to upgrade.
IBM MQ Operator LTS 2.0.0 through 2.0.29, MQ Operator CD 3.0.0, 3.0.1, 3.1.0 through 3.1.3, 3.3.0, 3.4.0, 3.4.1, 3.5.0, 3.5.1 through 3.5.3, and MQ Operator SC2 3.2.0 through 3.2.12 Native HA CRR could be configured with a private key and chain other than the intended key which could disclose sensitive information or allow the attacker to perform unauthorized actions.
CISA Thorium does not validate TLS certificates when connecting to Elasticsearch. An unauthenticated attacker with access to a Thorium cluster could impersonate the Elasticsearch service. Fixed in 1.1.2.
An issue was discovered on COROS PACE 3 devices through 3.0808.0. It implements a function to connect the watch to a WLAN. This function is mainly for downloading firmware files. Before downloading firmware files, the watch requests some information about the firmware via HTTPS from the back-end API. However, the X.509 server certificate within the TLS handshake is not validated by the device. This allows an attacker within an active machine-in-the-middle position, using a TLS proxy and a self-signed certificate, to eavesdrop and manipulate the HTTPS communication. This could be abused, for example, for stealing the API access token of the assigned user account.
An issue in MHSanaei 3x-ui before v.2.5.3 and before allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code via the management script x-ui passes the no check certificate option to wget when downloading updates
An authentication bypass in Optoma 1080PSTX C02 allows an attacker to access the administration console without valid credentials.
Microsoft Defender for IoT Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
The EU Technical Specifications for Digital COVID Certificates before 1.1 mishandle certificate governance. A non-production public key certificate could have been used in production.
A validation issue existed in Trust Anchor Management. This issue was addressed with improved validation. This issue is fixed in watchOS 5.2, macOS Mojave 10.14.4, Security Update 2019-002 High Sierra, Security Update 2019-002 Sierra, iOS 12.2. An untrusted radius server certificate may be trusted.
An issue was discovered in TCPDF before 6.8.0. If libcurl is used, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST and CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER are set unsafely.
Improper Certificate Validation vulnerability in LibreOffice "LibreOfficeKit" mode disables TLS certification verification LibreOfficeKit can be used for accessing LibreOffice functionality through C/C++. Typically this is used by third party components to reuse LibreOffice as a library to convert, view or otherwise interact with documents. LibreOffice internally makes use of "curl" to fetch remote resources such as images hosted on webservers. In affected versions of LibreOffice, when used in LibreOfficeKit mode only, then curl's TLS certification verification was disabled (CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER of false) In the fixed versions curl operates in LibreOfficeKit mode the same as in standard mode with CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER of true. This issue affects LibreOffice before version 24.2.4.
