md: Don't suspend the array for interrupted reshape

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md: Don't suspend the array for interrupted reshape md_start_sync() will suspend the array if there are spares that can be added or removed from conf, however, if reshape is still in progress, this won't happen at all or data will be corrupted(remove_and_add_spares won't be called from md_choose_sync_action for reshape), hence there is no need to suspend the array if reshape is not done yet. Meanwhile, there is a potential deadlock for raid456: 1) reshape is interrupted; 2) set one of the disk WantReplacement, and add a new disk to the array, however, recovery won't start until the reshape is finished; 3) then issue an IO across reshpae position, this IO will wait for reshape to make progress; 4) continue to reshape, then md_start_sync() found there is a spare disk that can be added to conf, mddev_suspend() is called; Step 4 and step 3 is waiting for each other, deadlock triggered. Noted this problem is found by code review, and it's not reporduced yet. Fix this porblem by don't suspend the array for interrupted reshape, this is safe because conf won't be changed until reshape is done.

rtw88: Fix array overrun in rtw_get_tx_power_params()

The trivial increase in the dimension of bw40_base fails as this struct must match the layout of efuse. The fix is to add the rate as an argument to rtw_get_channel_group() and set the group for channel 14 to 4 if rate <= DESC_RATE11M. This patch fixes commit fa6dfe6bff24 ("rtw88: resolve order of tx power setting routines")

ethernet: hisilicon: hns: hns_dsaf_misc: fix a possible array overflow in hns_dsaf_ge_srst_by_port()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ethernet: hisilicon: hns: hns_dsaf_misc: fix a possible array overflow in hns_dsaf_ge_srst_by_port() The if statement: if (port >= DSAF_GE_NUM) return; limits the value of port less than DSAF_GE_NUM (i.e., 8). However, if the value of port is 6 or 7, an array overflow could occur: port_rst_off = dsaf_dev->mac_cb[port]->port_rst_off; because the length of dsaf_dev->mac_cb is DSAF_MAX_PORT_NUM (i.e., 6). To fix this possible array overflow, we first check port and if it is greater than or equal to DSAF_MAX_PORT_NUM, the function returns.

kyber: fix out of bounds access when preempted

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kyber: fix out of bounds access when preempted __blk_mq_sched_bio_merge() gets the ctx and hctx for the current CPU and passes the hctx to ->bio_merge(). kyber_bio_merge() then gets the ctx for the current CPU again and uses that to get the corresponding Kyber context in the passed hctx. However, the thread may be preempted between the two calls to blk_mq_get_ctx(), and the ctx returned the second time may no longer correspond to the passed hctx. This "works" accidentally most of the time, but it can cause us to read garbage if the second ctx came from an hctx with more ctx's than the first one (i.e., if ctx->index_hw[hctx->type] > hctx->nr_ctx). This manifested as this UBSAN array index out of bounds error reported by Jakub: UBSAN: array-index-out-of-bounds in ../kernel/locking/qspinlock.c:130:9 index 13106 is out of range for type 'long unsigned int [128]' Call Trace: dump_stack+0xa4/0xe5 ubsan_epilogue+0x5/0x40 __ubsan_handle_out_of_bounds.cold.13+0x2a/0x34 queued_spin_lock_slowpath+0x476/0x480 do_raw_spin_lock+0x1c2/0x1d0 kyber_bio_merge+0x112/0x180 blk_mq_submit_bio+0x1f5/0x1100 submit_bio_noacct+0x7b0/0x870 submit_bio+0xc2/0x3a0 btrfs_map_bio+0x4f0/0x9d0 btrfs_submit_data_bio+0x24e/0x310 submit_one_bio+0x7f/0xb0 submit_extent_page+0xc4/0x440 __extent_writepage_io+0x2b8/0x5e0 __extent_writepage+0x28d/0x6e0 extent_write_cache_pages+0x4d7/0x7a0 extent_writepages+0xa2/0x110 do_writepages+0x8f/0x180 __writeback_single_inode+0x99/0x7f0 writeback_sb_inodes+0x34e/0x790 __writeback_inodes_wb+0x9e/0x120 wb_writeback+0x4d2/0x660 wb_workfn+0x64d/0xa10 process_one_work+0x53a/0xa80 worker_thread+0x69/0x5b0 kthread+0x20b/0x240 ret_from_fork+0x1f/0x30 Only Kyber uses the hctx, so fix it by passing the request_queue to ->bio_merge() instead. BFQ and mq-deadline just use that, and Kyber can map the queues itself to avoid the mismatch.

isdn: cpai: check ctr->cnr to avoid array index out of bound

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: isdn: cpai: check ctr->cnr to avoid array index out of bound The cmtp_add_connection() would add a cmtp session to a controller and run a kernel thread to process cmtp. __module_get(THIS_MODULE); session->task = kthread_run(cmtp_session, session, "kcmtpd_ctr_%d", session->num); During this process, the kernel thread would call detach_capi_ctr() to detach a register controller. if the controller was not attached yet, detach_capi_ctr() would trigger an array-index-out-bounds bug. ice: fix locking for Tx timestamp tracking flush

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: fix locking for Tx timestamp tracking flush Commit 4dd0d5c33c3e ("ice: add lock around Tx timestamp tracker flush") added a lock around the Tx timestamp tracker flow which is used to cleanup any left over SKBs and prepare for device removal. This lock is problematic because it is being held around a call to ice_clear_phy_tstamp. The clear function takes a mutex to send a PHY write command to firmware. This could lead to a deadlock if the mutex actually sleeps, and causes the following warning on a kernel with preemption debugging enabled: [ 715.419426] BUG: sleeping function called from invalid context at kernel/locking/mutex.c:573 [ 715.427900] in_atomic(): 1, irqs_disabled(): 0, non_block: 0, pid: 3100, name: rmmod [ 715.435652] INFO: lockdep is turned off. objtool, spi: amd: Fix out-of-bounds stack access in amd_set_spi_freq()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: objtool, spi: amd: Fix out-of-bounds stack access in amd_set_spi_freq() If speed_hz < AMD_SPI_MIN_HZ, amd_set_spi_freq() iterates over the entire amd_spi_freq array without breaking out early, causing 'i' to go beyond the array bounds. Fix that by stopping the loop when it gets to the last entry, so the low speed_hz value gets clamped up to AMD_SPI_MIN_HZ. Fixes the following warning with an UBSAN kernel: drivers/spi/spi-amd.o: error: objtool: amd_set_spi_freq() falls through to next function amd_spi_set_opcode()

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's udmabuf device driver. The specific flaw exists within a fault handler. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a memory access past the end of an array. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of the kernel.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: pvrusb2: fix array-index-out-of-bounds in pvr2_i2c_core_init Syzbot reported that -1 is used as array index. The problem was in missing validation check. hdw->unit_number is initialized with -1 and then if init table walk fails this value remains unchanged. Since code blindly uses this member for array indexing adding sanity check is the easiest fix for that. hdw->workpoll initialization moved upper to prevent warning in __flush_work.

drm/amd/display: Fix potential index out of bounds in color transformation function

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Fix potential index out of bounds in color transformation function Fixes index out of bounds issue in the color transformation function. The issue could occur when the index 'i' exceeds the number of transfer function points (TRANSFER_FUNC_POINTS). The fix adds a check to ensure 'i' is within bounds before accessing the transfer function points. If 'i' is out of bounds, an error message is logged and the function returns false to indicate an error. Reported by smatch: drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/dcn10/dcn10_cm_common.c:405 cm_helper_translate_curve_to_hw_format() error: buffer overflow 'output_tf->tf_pts.red' 1025 <= s32max drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/dcn10/dcn10_cm_common.c:406 cm_helper_translate_curve_to_hw_format() error: buffer overflow 'output_tf->tf_pts.green' 1025 <= s32max drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/dcn10/dcn10_cm_common.c:407 cm_helper_translate_curve_to_hw_format() error: buffer overflow 'output_tf->tf_pts.blue' 1025 <= s32max

bpf: Fix potential array overflow in bpf_trampoline_get_progs()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix potential array overflow in bpf_trampoline_get_progs() The cnt value in the 'cnt >= BPF_MAX_TRAMP_PROGS' check does not include BPF_TRAMP_MODIFY_RETURN bpf programs, so the number of the attached BPF_TRAMP_MODIFY_RETURN bpf programs in a trampoline can exceed BPF_MAX_TRAMP_PROGS. When this happens, the assignment '*progs++ = aux->prog' in bpf_trampoline_get_progs() will cause progs array overflow as the progs field in the bpf_tramp_progs struct can only hold at most BPF_MAX_TRAMP_PROGS bpf programs.

TBF is out of tokens so it schedules itself for later. * the second packet is sent and TBF tries to queues it to SFQ. qdisc qlen is now 2 and because the SFQ limit is 1 the packet is dropped by SFQ. At this point qlen is 1, and all of the SFQ slots are empty, however q->tail is not NULL. At this point, assuming no more packets are queued, when sch_dequeue runs again it will decrement the qlen for the current empty slot causing an underflow and the subsequent out of bounds access.

drivers/perf: hisi: hns3: Fix out-of-bound access when valid event group

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drivers/perf: hisi: hns3: Fix out-of-bound access when valid event group The perf tool allows users to create event groups through following cmd [1], but the driver does not check whether the array index is out of bounds when writing data to the event_group array. If the number of events in an event_group is greater than HNS3_PMU_MAX_HW_EVENTS, the memory write overflow of event_group array occurs. Add array index check to fix the possible array out of bounds violation, and return directly when write new events are written to array bounds. There are 9 different events in an event_group. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: spi: cadence: Fix out-of-bounds array access in cdns_mrvl_xspi_setup_clock() If requested_clk > 128, cdns_mrvl_xspi_setup_clock() iterates over the entire cdns_mrvl_xspi_clk_div_list array without breaking out early, causing 'i' to go beyond the array bounds. Fix that by stopping the loop when it gets to the last entry, clamping the clock to the minimum 6.25 MHz. Fixes the following warning with an UBSAN kernel: vmlinux.o: warning: objtool: cdns_mrvl_xspi_setup_clock: unexpected end of section .text.cdns_mrvl_xspi_setup_clock

mm: vmalloc: ensure vmap_block is initialised before adding to queue

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm: vmalloc: ensure vmap_block is initialised before adding to queue Commit 8c61291fd850 ("mm: fix incorrect vbq reference in purge_fragmented_block") extended the 'vmap_block' structure to contain a 'cpu' field which is set at allocation time to the id of the initialising CPU. When a new 'vmap_block' is being instantiated by new_vmap_block(), the partially initialised structure is added to the local 'vmap_block_queue' xarray before the 'cpu' field has been initialised. If another CPU is concurrently walking the xarray (e.g. via vm_unmap_aliases()), then it may perform an out-of-bounds access to the remote queue thanks to an uninitialised index. This has been observed as UBSAN errors in Android: | Internal error: UBSAN: array index out of bounds: 00000000f2005512 [#1] PREEMPT SMP | | Call trace: | purge_fragmented_block+0x204/0x21c | _vm_unmap_aliases+0x170/0x378 | vm_unmap_aliases+0x1c/0x28 | change_memory_common+0x1dc/0x26c | set_memory_ro+0x18/0x24 | module_enable_ro+0x98/0x238 | do_init_module+0x1b0/0x310 Move the initialisation of 'vb->cpu' in new_vmap_block() ahead of the addition to the xarray.

clk: bcm: rpi: Assign ->num before accessing ->hws

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clk: bcm: rpi: Assign ->num before accessing ->hws Commit f316cdff8d67 ("clk: Annotate struct clk_hw_onecell_data with __counted_by") annotated the hws member of 'struct clk_hw_onecell_data' with __counted_by, which informs the bounds sanitizer about the number of elements in hws, so that it can warn when hws is accessed out of bounds. As noted in that change, the __counted_by member must be initialized with the number of elements before the first array access happens, otherwise there will be a warning from each access prior to the initialization because the number of elements is zero. This occurs in raspberrypi_discover_clocks() due to ->num being assigned after ->hws has been accessed: UBSAN: array-index-out-of-bounds in drivers/clk/bcm/clk-raspberrypi.c:374:4 index 3 is out of range for type 'struct clk_hw *[] __counted_by(num)' (aka 'struct clk_hw *[]') Move the ->num initialization to before the first access of ->hws, which clears up the warning.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drivers/perf: hisi_pcie: Fix out-of-bound access when valid event group The perf tool allows users to create event groups through following cmd [1], but the driver does not check whether the array index is out of bounds when writing data to the event_group array. If the number of events in an event_group is greater than HISI_PCIE_MAX_COUNTERS, the memory write overflow of event_group array occurs. Add array index check to fix the possible array out of bounds violation, and return directly when write new events are written to array bounds. There are 9 different events in an event_group. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: adc: PAC1934: fix accessing out of bounds array index Fix accessing out of bounds array index for average current and voltage measurements. The device itself has only 4 channels, but in sysfs there are "fake" channels for the average voltages and currents too.

wifi: nl80211: Avoid address calculations via out of bounds array indexing

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: nl80211: Avoid address calculations via out of bounds array indexing Before request->channels[] can be used, request->n_channels must be set. Additionally, address calculations for memory after the "channels" array need to be calculated from the allocation base ("request") rather than via the first "out of bounds" index of "channels", otherwise run-time bounds checking will throw a warning.

wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: guard against invalid STA ID on removal

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: guard against invalid STA ID on removal Guard against invalid station IDs in iwl_mvm_mld_rm_sta_id as that would result in out-of-bounds array accesses. This prevents issues should the driver get into a bad state during error handling.
