In Splunk Enterprise versions below 8.2.9, 8.1.12, and 9.0.2, sending a malformed file through the Splunk-to-Splunk (S2S) or HTTP Event Collector (HEC) protocols to an indexer results in a blockage or denial-of-service preventing further indexing.
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 8.1.12, 8.2.9, and 9.0.2, a remote user who can create search macros and schedule search reports can cause a denial of service through the use of specially crafted search macros.
In Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) versions lower than 7.1.2, an attacker can create a malformed Investigation to perform a denial of service (DoS). The malformed investigation prevents the generation and rendering of the Investigations manager until it is deleted.<br>The vulnerability requires an authenticated session and access to create an Investigation. It only affects the availability of the Investigations manager, but without the manager, the Investigations functionality becomes unusable for most users.
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.2.2, 10.0.5, 9.4.11, and 9.3.12, and Splunk Cloud Platform versions below 10.4.2603.1, 10.3.2512.9, 10.2.2510.11, 10.1.2507.21, 10.0.2503.13, and 9.3.2411.129, a low-privileged user that does not hold the ‘admin’ or ‘power’ Splunk roles could cause a Denial of Service by exploiting the `coldToFrozen.sh` script in the `splunk_archiver` app to rename critical Splunk directories, making the instance non-functional.<br><br>The Denial of Service is possible because of missing input validation in the `coldToFrozen.sh` script, which accepts arbitrary file paths and renames them without restricting operations to safe directories.
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.0.2, 9.4.6, 9.3.8, and 9.2.10, and versions below 3.9.10, 3.8.58 and 3.7.28 of the Splunk Secure Gateway app on Splunk Cloud Platform, a low-privileged user that does not hold the "admin" or "power" Splunk roles could craft a malicious payload through the `label` column field after adding a new device in the Splunk Secure Gateway app. This could potentially lead to a client-side denial of service (DoS).
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 9.4.4, 9.3.6, and 9.2.8, and Splunk Cloud Platform versions below 9.3.2411.108, 9.3.2408.118 and 9.2.2406.123, a low privilege user that does not hold the "admin" or "power" Splunk roles could perform an extensible markup language (XML) external entity (XXE) injection through the dashboard tab label field. The XXE injection has the potential to cause denial of service (DoS) attacks.
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 9.0.5, 8.2.11, and 8.1.14, and Splunk Cloud Platform versions below 9.0.2303.100, an attacker can exploit a vulnerability in the {{dump}} SPL command to cause a denial of service by crashing the Splunk daemon.
On Splunk Enterprise versions below 9.0.5, 8.2.11, and 8.1.14, an unauthenticated attacker can send specially-crafted messages to the XML parser within SAML authentication to cause a denial of service in the Splunk daemon.
In versions 3.1.0 and lower of the Splunk Supporting Add-on for Active Directory, also known as SA-ldapsearch, a vulnerable regular expression pattern could lead to a Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) attack.
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 8.1.13, 8.2.10, and 9.0.4, an improperly-formatted ‘INGEST_EVAL’ parameter in a Field Transformation crashes the Splunk daemon (splunkd).
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 9.2.2, 9.1.5, and 9.0.10 and Splunk Cloud Platform versions below 9.2.2403.100, an authenticated, low-privileged user that does not hold the admin or power Splunk roles could send a specially crafted HTTP POST request to the datamodel/web REST endpoint in Splunk Enterprise, potentially causing a denial of service.
In Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) versions below 7.1.2, an attacker can use investigation attachments to perform a denial of service (DoS) to the Investigation. The attachment endpoint does not properly limit the size of the request which lets an attacker cause the Investigation to become inaccessible.
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.2.0, 10.0.2, 9.4.8, 9.3.9, and 9.2.12, and Splunk Cloud Platform versions below 10.2.2510.3, 10.1.2507.8, 10.0.2503.9, and 9.3.2411.121, a low-privileged user that does not hold the "admin" or "power" Splunk roles could craft a malicious payload into the `realname`, `tz`, or `email` parameters of the `/splunkd/__raw/services/authentication/users/username` REST API endpoint when they change a password. This could potentially lead to a client‑side denial‑of‑service (DoS). The malicious payload might significantly slow page load times or render Splunk Web temporarily unresponsive.
libcurl provides the `CURLOPT_CERTINFO` option to allow applications torequest details to be returned about a server's certificate chain.Due to an erroneous function, a malicious server could make libcurl built withNSS get stuck in a never-ending busy-loop when trying to retrieve thatinformation.
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.0.1, 9.4.4, 9.3.6, and 9.2.8, and Splunk Cloud Platform versions below 9.3.2411.108, 9.3.2408.118 and 9.2.2406.123, a user who holds a role that contains the high-privilege capability `change_authentication`, could send multiple LDAP bind requests to a specific internal endpoint, resulting in high server CPU usage, which could potentially lead to a denial of service (DoS) until the Splunk Enterprise instance is restarted. See https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/administer/manage-users-and-security/10.0/manage-splunk-platform-users-and-roles/define-roles-on-the-splunk-platform-with-capabilities and https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/administer/manage-users-and-security/10.0/use-ldap-as-an-authentication-scheme/configure-ldap-with-splunk-web#cfe47e31_007f_460d_8b3d_8505ffc3f0dd__Configure_LDAP_with_Splunk_Web for more information.
In Splunk Enterprise versions lower than 9.0.6 and 8.2.12, a malicious actor can send a malformed security assertion markup language (SAML) request to the `/saml/acs` REST endpoint which can cause a denial of service through a crash or hang of the Splunk daemon.
In Splunk Enterprise versions lower than 8.2.12, 9.0.6, and 9.1.1, an attacker can use the `printf` SPL function to perform a denial of service (DoS) against the Splunk Enterprise instance.
This is a duplicate for CVE-2023-46104. With correct CVE version ranges for affected Apache Superset. Uncontrolled resource consumption can be triggered by authenticated attacker that uploads a malicious ZIP to import database, dashboards or datasets. This vulnerability exists in Apache Superset versions up to and including 2.1.2 and versions 3.0.0, 3.0.1.
Mattermost versions 8.1.x <= 8.1.10, 9.6.x <= 9.6.0, 9.5.x <= 9.5.2 and 8.1.x <= 8.1.11 fail to limit the size of a request path that includes user inputs which allows an attacker to cause excessive resource consumption, possibly leading to a DoS via sending large request paths
The IBM Integration Bus for z/OS 10.1 through 10.1.0.2 AdminAPI is vulnerable to a denial of service due to file system exhaustion. IBM X-Force ID: 279972.
Argo CD is a declarative continuous deployment for Kubernetes. Argo CD versions v0.7.0 and later are vulnerable to an uncontrolled memory consumption bug, allowing an authorized malicious user to crash the repo-server service, resulting in a Denial of Service. The attacker must be an authenticated Argo CD user authorized to deploy Applications from a repository which contains (or can be made to contain) a large file. The fix for this vulnerability is available in versions 2.3.5, 2.2.10, 2.1.16, and later. There are no known workarounds. Users are recommended to upgrade.

Mattermost version 7.0.x and earlier fails to sufficiently limit the in-memory sizes of concurrently uploaded JPEG images, which allows authenticated users to cause resource exhaustion on specific system configurations, resulting in server-side Denial of Service.
An incomplete fix for ose-olm-catalogd-container was issued for the Rapid Reset Vulnerability (CVE-2023-39325/CVE-2023-44487) where only unauthenticated streams were protected, not streams created by authenticated sources.
KubeEdge is an open source system for extending native containerized application orchestration capabilities to hosts at Edge. Prior to versions 1.11.1, 1.10.2, and 1.9.4, the CloudCore Router does not impose a limit on the size of responses to requests made by the REST handler. An attacker could use this weakness to make a request that will return an HTTP response with a large body and cause DoS of CloudCore. In the HTTP Handler API, the rest handler makes a request to a pre-specified handle. The handle will return an HTTP response that is then read into memory. The consequence of the exhaustion is that CloudCore will be in a denial of service. Only an authenticated user of the cloud can make an attack. It will be affected only when users enable `router` module in the config file `cloudcore.yaml`. This bug has been fixed in Kubeedge 1.11.1, 1.10.2, and 1.9.4. As a workaround, disable the router switch in the config file `cloudcore.yaml`.
Tekton Pipelines project provides k8s-style resources for declaring CI/CD-style pipelines. Starting in version 1.0.0 and prior to versions 1.0.2, 1.3.4, 1.6.2, 1.9.3, and 1.11.1, the HTTP resolver's FetchHttpResource function calls io.ReadAll(resp.Body) with no response body size limit. Any tenant with permission to create TaskRuns or PipelineRuns that reference the HTTP resolver can point it at an attacker-controlled HTTP server that returns a very large response body within the 1-minute timeout window, causing the tekton-pipelines-resolvers pod to be OOM-killed by Kubernetes. Because all resolver types (Git, Hub, Bundle, Cluster, HTTP) run in the same pod, crashing this pod denies resolution service to the entire cluster. Repeated exploitation causes a sustained crash loop. The same vulnerable code path is reached by both the deprecated pkg/resolution/resolver/http and the current pkg/remoteresolution/resolver/http implementations. Versions 1.0.2, 1.3.4, 1.6.2, 1.9.3, and 1.11.1 fix the issue.
A Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability exists in the file upload feature of binary-husky/gpt_academic version 3.83. The vulnerability is due to improper handling of form-data with a large filename in the file upload request. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a payload with an excessively large filename, causing the server to become overwhelmed and unavailable for legitimate users.
Multiple Denial of Service (DoS) conditions has been discovered in GitLab CE/EE affecting all versions starting from 1.0 prior to 16.11.5, starting from 17.0 prior to 17.0.3, and starting from 17.1 prior to 17.1.1 which allowed an attacker to cause resource exhaustion via banzai pipeline.
A vulnerability was found in SourceCodester Engineers Online Portal 1.0. It has been classified as problematic. Affected is an unknown function of the component File Upload Handler. The manipulation leads to resource consumption. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The identifier of this vulnerability is VDB-250116.
Nextcloud Deck is a kanban style organization tool aimed at personal planning and project organization for teams integrated with Nextcloud. A database error can be generated potentially causing a DoS when performed multiple times. There are currently no known workarounds. It is recommended that the Nextcloud Server is upgraded to 1.6.5 or 1.7.3 or 1.8.2.
Libreswan 4.9 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (assert failure and daemon restart) via crafted TS payload with an incorrect selector length.
A vulnerability in a logging API in Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the device to become unresponsive or trigger an unexpected reload. This vulnerability could also allow an attacker with valid user credentials, but not Administrator privileges, to view a system log file that they would not normally have access to. This vulnerability is due to a lack of rate-limiting of requests that are sent to a specific API that is related to an FMC log. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a high rate of HTTP requests to the API. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition due to the FMC CPU spiking to 100 percent utilization or to the device reloading. CPU utilization would return to normal if the attack traffic was stopped before an unexpected reload was triggered.
In spring framework versions prior to 5.2.24 release+ ,5.3.27+ and 6.0.8+ , it is possible for a user to provide a specially crafted SpEL expression that may cause a denial-of-service (DoS) condition.
Argo CD is a declarative continuous deployment for Kubernetes. All versions of ArgoCD starting from v2.4 have a bug where the ArgoCD repo-server component is vulnerable to a Denial-of-Service attack vector. Specifically, the said component extracts a user-controlled tar.gz file without validating the size of its inner files. As a result, a malicious, low-privileged user can send a malicious tar.gz file that exploits this vulnerability to the repo-server, thereby harming the system's functionality and availability. Additionally, the repo-server is susceptible to another vulnerability due to the fact that it does not check the extracted file permissions before attempting to delete them. Consequently, an attacker can craft a malicious tar.gz archive in a way that prevents the deletion of its inner files when the manifest generation process is completed. A patch for this vulnerability has been released in versions 2.6.15, 2.7.14, and 2.8.3. Users are advised to upgrade. The only way to completely resolve the issue is to upgrade, however users unable to upgrade should configure RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and provide access for configuring applications only to a limited number of administrators. These administrators should utilize trusted and verified Helm charts.
Mikrotik RouterOs before 6.47 (stable tree) suffers from an uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability in the /nova/bin/route process. An authenticated remote attacker can cause a Denial of Service due to overloading the systems CPU.
User-controlled operations could have allowed Denial of Service in M-Files Server before 23.4.12528.1 due to uncontrolled memory consumption for a scheduled job.
Discourse is an open source platform for community discussion. In affected versions the endpoint for generating inline oneboxes for URLs wasn't enforcing limits on the number of URLs that it accepted, allowing a malicious user to inflict denial of service on some parts of the app. This vulnerability is only exploitable by authenticated users. This issue has been patched in the latest stable, beta and tests-passed versions of Discourse. Users are advised to upgrade. Users unable to upgrade should turn off the `enable inline onebox on all domains` site setting and remove all entries from the `allowed inline onebox domains` site setting.
The duration function in the moment package before 2.11.2 for Node.js allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) via a long string, aka a "regular expression Denial of Service (ReDoS)."
A flaw was found in glusterfs server through versions 4.1.4 and 3.1.2 which allowed repeated usage of GF_META_LOCK_KEY xattr. A remote, authenticated attacker could use this flaw to create multiple locks for single inode by using setxattr repetitively resulting in memory exhaustion of glusterfs server node.
WordPress before 2.0.5 does not properly store a profile containing a string representation of a serialized object, which allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a string that represents a (1) malformed or (2) large serialized object, because the object triggers automatic unserialization for display.
In a Point-to-Multipoint (P2MP) Label Switched Path (LSP) scenario, an uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability in the Routing Protocol Daemon (RPD) in Juniper Networks Junos OS allows a specific SNMP request to trigger an infinite loop causing a high CPU usage Denial of Service (DoS) condition. This issue affects both SNMP over IPv4 and IPv6. This issue affects: Juniper Networks Junos OS: 12.3X48 versions prior to 12.3X48-D90; 15.1 versions prior to 15.1R7-S6; 15.1X49 versions prior to 15.1X49-D200; 15.1X53 versions prior to 15.1X53-D238, 15.1X53-D592; 16.1 versions prior to 16.1R7-S5; 16.2 versions prior to 16.2R2-S11; 17.1 versions prior to 17.1R3-S1; 17.2 versions prior to 17.2R3-S2; 17.3 versions prior to 17.3R3-S7; 17.4 versions prior to 17.4R2-S4, 17.4R3; 18.1 versions prior to 18.1R3-S5; 18.2 versions prior to 18.2R3; 18.2X75 versions prior to 18.2X75-D50; 18.3 versions prior to 18.3R2; 18.4 versions prior to 18.4R2; 19.1 versions prior to 19.1R2.
