Photo Gallery by 10Web – Mobile-Friendly Image Gallery <= 1.8.23 - Authenticated (Contributor+) Path Traversal via esc_dir Function

The Photo Gallery by 10Web – Mobile-Friendly Image Gallery plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Path Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.8.23 via the esc_dir function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers to cut and paste (copy) the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information, and to cut (delete) arbitrary directories, including the root WordPress directory. By default this can be exploited by administrators only. In the premium version of the plugin, administrators can give gallery edit permissions to lower level users, which might make this exploitable by users as low as contributors.

Improper sanitization of target names in tough

Tough provides a set of Rust libraries and tools for using and generating the update framework (TUF) repositories. The tough library, prior to 0.12.0, does not properly sanitize target names when caching a repository, or when saving specific targets to an output directory. When targets are cached or saved, files could be overwritten with arbitrary content anywhere on the system. A fix is available in version 0.12.0. No workarounds to this issue are known.

Path Traversal in some REST methods leading to file upload to arbitrary places

OpenOlat is a web-basedlearning management system. A path traversal vulnerability exists in OpenOlat prior to versions 15.5.12 and 16.0.5. By providing a filename that contains a relative path as a parameter in some REST methods, it is possible to create directory structures and write files anywhere on the target system. The attack could be used to write files anywhere in the web root folder or outside, depending on the configuration of the system and the properly configured permission of the application server user. The attack requires an OpenOlat user account, an enabled REST API and the rights on a business object to call the vulnerable REST calls. The problem is fixed in version 15.5.12 and 16.0.5. There is a workaround available. The vulnerability requires the REST module to be enabled. Disabling the REST module or limiting the REST module via some firewall or web-server access rules to be accessed only be trusted systems will mitigate the risk.

Path Traversal in Archive Handling Leading to Code Execution

OpenOLAT is a web-based learning management system (LMS). A path traversal vulnerability exists in versions prior to 15.3.18, 15.5.3, and 16.0.0. Using a specially prepared ZIP file, it is possible to overwrite any file that is writable by the application server user (e.g. the tomcat user). Depending on the configuration this can be limited to files of the OpenOlat user data directory, however, if not properly set up, the attack could also be used to overwrite application server config files, java code or even operating system files. The attack could be used to corrupt or modify any OpenOlat file such as course structures, config files or temporary test data. Those attack would require in-depth knowledge of the installation and thus more theoretical. If the app server configuration allows the execution of jsp files and the path to the context is known, it is also possible to execute java code. If the app server runs with the same user that is used to deploy the OpenOlat code or has write permissions on the OpenOlat code files and the path to the context is know, code injection is possible. The attack requires an OpenOlat user account to upload a ZIP file and trigger the unzip method. It can not be exploited by unregistered users. The problem is fixed in versions 15.3.18, 15.5.3 and 16.0.0. There are no known workarounds aside from upgrading.

wpForo Forum <= 3.0.5 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Arbitrary File Deletion via Custom Profile Field File Path

The wpForo Forum plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Deletion in versions up to and including 3.0.5. This is due to two compounding flaws: the Members::update() method does not validate or restrict the value of file-type custom profile fields, allowing authenticated users to store an arbitrary path instead of a legitimate upload path; and the wpforo_fix_upload_dir() sanitization function in ucf_file_delete() only remaps paths that match the expected pattern, and it is passed directly to the unlink() function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php). Perfmatters <= 2.5.9 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Arbitrary File Overwrite via 'snippets' Parameter

The Perfmatters plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file overwrite via path traversal in all versions up to, and including, 2.5.9. This is due to the `PMCS::action_handler()` method processing the bulk action `activate`/`deactivate` handlers without any authorization check or nonce verification. The `$_GET['snippets'][]` values are passed unsanitized to `Snippet::activate()`/`Snippet::deactivate()` which call `Snippet::update()` then `file_put_contents()` with the traversed path. Langflow: Path Traversal in Langflow Knowledge Bases API

Langflow is a tool for building and deploying AI-powered agents and workflows. Prior to 1.9.0, Langflow is vulnerable to Path Traversal in the Knowledge Bases API (DELETE /api/v1/knowledge_bases). This occurs because user-supplied knowledge base names are concatenated directly into file paths without proper sanitization or boundary validation. Abitrary file write through systemd-creds option

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Incus instances have an option to provide credentials to systemd in the guest. For containers, this is handled through a shared directory. Prior to version 6.23.0, an attacker can set a configuration key named something like `systemd.credential.../../../../../../root/.bashrc` to cause Incus to write outside of the `credentials` directory associated with the container. This makes use of the fact that the Incus syntax for such credentials is `systemd.credential.XYZ` where `XYZ` can itself contain more periods. While it's not possible to read any data this way, it's possible to write to arbitrary files as root, enabling both privilege escalation and denial of service attacks. Version 6.23.0 fixes the issue.

Endian Firewall /cgi-bin/backup.cgi remove ARCHIVE Directory Traversal

Endian Firewall version 3.3.25 and prior allow authenticated users to delete arbitrary files via directory traversal in the remove ARCHIVE parameter to /cgi-bin/backup.cgi. The remove ARCHIVE parameter value is used to construct a file path without sanitization of directory traversal sequences, which is then passed to an unlink() call.

Fireshare has Path Traversal Arbitrary File Write in `/api/uploadChunked`

Fireshare facilitates self-hosted media and link sharing. In version 1.5.1, an authenticated path traversal vulnerability in Fireshare’s chunked upload endpoint allows an attacker to write arbitrary files outside the intended upload directory. The `checkSum` multipart field is used directly in filesystem path construction without sanitization or containment checks. This enables unauthorized file writes to attacker-chosen paths writable by the Fireshare process (e.g., container `/tmp`), violating integrity and potentially enabling follow-on attacks depending on deployment. Version 1.5.2 fixes the issue.

AVideo Affected by Arbitrary File Deletion via Path Traversal in CloneSite deleteDump Parameter

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. Prior to version 26.0, the `deleteDump` parameter in `plugin/CloneSite/cloneServer.json.php` is passed directly to `unlink()` without any path sanitization. An attacker with valid clone credentials can use path traversal sequences (e.g., `../../`) to delete arbitrary files on the server, including critical application files such as `configuration.php`, causing complete denial of service or enabling further attacks by removing security-critical files. Version 26.0 fixes the issue.

Magic Wormhole: "wormhole receive" allows arbitrary local file overwrite

Magic Wormhole makes it possible to get arbitrary-sized files and directories from one computer to another. From 0.21.0 to before 0.23.0, receiving a file (wormhole receive) from a malicious party could result in overwriting critical local files, including ~/.ssh/authorized_keys and .bashrc. This could be used to compromise the receiver's computer. Only the sender of the file (the party who runs wormhole send) can mount the attack. Other parties (including the transit/relay servers) are excluded by the wormhole protocol. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.23.0.

Path Traversal Vulnerability in mlflow/mlflow

A path traversal vulnerability exists in the mlflow/mlflow repository, specifically within the artifact deletion functionality. Attackers can bypass path validation by exploiting the double decoding process in the `_delete_artifact_mlflow_artifacts` handler and `local_file_uri_to_path` function, allowing for the deletion of arbitrary directories on the server's filesystem. This vulnerability is due to an extra unquote operation in the `delete_artifacts` function of `local_artifact_repo.py`, which fails to properly sanitize user-supplied paths. The issue is present up to version 2.9.2, despite attempts to fix a similar issue in CVE-2023-6831.

Uptime Kuma authenticated path traversal via plugin repository name may lead to unavailability or data loss

Uptime Kuma, a self-hosted monitoring tool, has a path traversal vulnerability in versions prior to 1.22.1. Uptime Kuma allows authenticated users to install plugins from an official list of plugins. This feature is currently disabled in the web interface, but the corresponding API endpoints are still available after login. Before a plugin is downloaded, the plugin installation directory is checked for existence. If it exists, it's removed before the plugin installation. Because the plugin is not validated against the official list of plugins or sanitized, the check for existence and the removal of the plugin installation directory are prone to path traversal. This vulnerability allows an authenticated attacker to delete files from the server Uptime Kuma is running on. Depending on which files are deleted, Uptime Kuma or the whole system may become unavailable due to data loss.

HHVM supports the use of an "admin" server which accepts administrative requests over HTTP. One of those request handlers, dump-pcre-cache, can be used to output cached regular expressions from the current execution context into a file. The handler takes a parameter which specifies where on the filesystem to write this data. The parameter is not validated, allowing a malicious user to overwrite arbitrary files where the user running HHVM has write access. This issue affects HHVM versions prior to 4.56.2, all versions between 4.57.0 and 4.78.0, as well as 4.79.0, 4.80.0, 4.81.0, 4.82.0, and 4.83.0.

ConvertX Vulnerable to Arbitrary File Deletion via Path Traversal in `POST /delete`

ConvertXis a self-hosted online file converter. In versions prior to 0.17.0, the `POST /delete` endpoint uses a user-controlled `filename` value to construct a filesystem path and deletes it via `unlink` without sufficient validation. By supplying path traversal sequences (e.g., `../`), an attacker can delete arbitrary files outside the intended uploads directory, limited only by the permissions of the server process. Version 0.17.0 fixes the issue.
