OpenFGA is a high-performance and flexible authorization/permission engine built for developers and inspired by Google Zanzibar. OpenFGA v1.8.5 to v1.11.2 ( openfga-0.2.22<= Helm chart <= openfga-0.2.51, v.1.8.5 <= docker <= v.1.11.2) are vulnerable to improper policy enforcement when certain Check calls are executed. The vulnerability requires a model that has a a relation directly assignable by a type bound public access and assignable by type bound non-public access, a tuple assigned for the relation that is a type bound public access, a tuple assigned for the same object with the same relation that is not type bound public access, and a tuple assigned for a different object that has an object ID lexicographically larger with the same user and relation which is not type bound public access. This vulnerability is fixed in v1.11.3.
Gogs is an open source self-hosted Git service. Versions 0.13.4 and below have an access control bypass vulnerability which allows any repository collaborator with Write permissions to delete protected branches (including the default branch) by sending a direct POST request, completely bypassing the branch protection mechanism. This vulnerability in the DeleteBranchPost function eenables privilege escalation from Write to Admin level, allowing low-privilege users to perform dangerous operations that should be restricted to administrators only. Although Git Hook layer correctly prevents protected branch deletion via SSH push, the web interface deletion operation does not trigger Git Hooks, resulting in complete bypass of protection mechanisms. In oder to exploit this vulnerability, attackers must have write permissions to the target repository, protected branches configured to the target repository and access to the Gogs web interface. This issue has been fixed in version 0.14.1.
Wekan versions prior to 8.20 allow non-administrative users to access migration functionality due to insufficient permission checks, potentially resulting in unauthorized migration operations.
A vulnerability has been identified in SINEMA Remote Connect Server (All versions < V3.0). Unpriviledged users can access services when guessing the url. An attacker could impact availability, integrity and gain information from logs and templates of the service.
In SapphireIMS 5.0, it is possible to create local administrator on any client with credentials of a non-privileged user by directly accessing RemoteMgmtTaskSave (Automation Tasks) feature.
A vulnerability has been identified in SINEMA Remote Connect Server (All versions < V3.0). The webserver could allow unauthorized actions via special urls for unpriviledged users. The settings of the UMC authorization server could be changed to add a rogue server by an attacker authenticating with unprivilege user rights.
In Cloudera CDH before 5.7.1, Impala REVOKE ALL ON SERVER commands do not revoke all privileges.
ZTE's ZXMP M721 product has a permission and access control vulnerability. Since the folder permission viewed by sftp is 666, which is inconsistent with the actual permission. It’s easy for?users to?ignore the modification?of?the file permission configuration, so that low-authority accounts could actually obtain higher operating permissions on key files.
An issue was discovered in SaltStack Salt in versions before 3002.9, 3003.5, 3004.2. PAM auth fails to reject locked accounts, which allows a previously authorized user whose account is locked still run Salt commands when their account is locked. This affects both local shell accounts with an active session and salt-api users that authenticate via PAM eauth.
Multiple vulnerabilities in the web-based management interface of Cisco SD-WAN vManage Software could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to bypass authorization and modify the configuration of an affected system, gain access to sensitive information, and view information that they are not authorized to access. For more information about these vulnerabilities, see the Details section of this advisory.
There is a configuration defect vulnerability in the version server of ZTE MF258K Pro products. Due to improper directory permission settings, an attacker can execute write permissions in a specific directory.
Multiple flaws were found in the way samba AD DC implemented access and conformance checking of stored data. An attacker could use this flaw to cause total domain compromise.
Broken access control in the component /admin/management/users of School Fees Management System v1.0 allows attackers to escalate privileges and perform Administrative actions, including adding and deleting user accounts.
Improper authorisation of regular users in ProIntegra Uptime DC software (versions below 2.0.0.33940) allows them to change passwords of all other users including administrators leading to a privilege escalation.
TOTOLINK A3002RU version 2.0.0-B20190902.1958 has a post-authentication RCE due to incorrect access control, allows attackers to bypass front-end security restrictions and execute arbitrary code.
Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux. In affected versions there is a privilege escalation vulnerability through a non-admin user's account. Limited users can impersonate another user's account if only single-factor authentication is configured. If a user knows an admin username, opens the login screen and attempts to authenticate with an incorrect password they can subsequently enter a valid non-admin username and password they will be logged in as the admin user. All installations prior to version 0.9.0 are affected. All users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
Istio is an open platform to connect, manage, and secure microservices. In versions 1.12.0 and 1.12.1 Istio is vulnerable to a privilege escalation attack. Users who have `CREATE` permission for `gateways.gateway.networking.k8s.io` objects can escalate this privilege to create other resources that they may not have access to, such as `Pod`. This vulnerability impacts only an Alpha level feature, the Kubernetes Gateway API. This is not the same as the Istio Gateway type (gateways.networking.istio.io), which is not vulnerable. Users are advised to upgrade to resolve this issue. Users unable to upgrade should implement any of the following which will prevent this vulnerability: Remove the gateways.gateway.networking.k8s.io CustomResourceDefinition, set PILOT_ENABLE_GATEWAY_API_DEPLOYMENT_CONTROLLER=true environment variable in Istiod, or remove CREATE permissions for gateways.gateway.networking.k8s.io objects from untrusted users.
IBM CP4BA - Filenet Content Manager Component 5.5.8.0, 5.5.10.0, and 5.5.11.0 could allow a user to gain the privileges of another user under unusual circumstances. IBM X-Force ID: 271656.
A vulnerability in Cisco Connected Mobile Experiences (CMX) could allow a remote, authenticated attacker without administrative privileges to alter the password of any user on an affected system. The vulnerability is due to incorrect handling of authorization checks for changing a password. An authenticated attacker without administrative privileges could exploit this vulnerability by sending a modified HTTP request to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to alter the passwords of any user on the system, including an administrative user, and then impersonate that user.
SOPlanning is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in user management tab. Users with user_manage_team role are allowed to modify permissions of users. However, they are able to assign administrative permissions to any user including themselves. This allow a malicious authenticated attacker with this role to escalate to admin privileges. This issue affects both Bulk Update functionality and regular edition of user's right and privileges. This issue was fixed in version 1.55.
XWiki Platform is a generic wiki platform offering runtime services for applications built on top of it. In affected versions it's possible for a user to write a script in which any velocity content is executed with the right of any other document content author. Since this API require programming right and the user does not have it, the expected result is `$doc.document.authors.contentAuthor` (not executed script), unfortunately with the security vulnerability it is possible for the attacker to get `XWiki.superadmin` which shows that the title was executed with the right of the unmodified document. This has been patched in XWiki versions 14.10.7 and 15.2RC1. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
StudioCMS is a server-side-rendered, Astro native, headless content management system. Prior to 0.4.0, the /studiocms_api/dashboard/api-tokens endpoint allows any authenticated user (at least Editor) to generate API tokens for any other user, including owner and admin accounts. The endpoint fails to validate whether the requesting user is authorized to create tokens on behalf of the target user ID, resulting in a full privilege escalation. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.4.0.
IBM i Access Client Solutions 1.1.2 through 1.1.4 and 1.1.4.3 through 1.1.9.3 could allow an attacker to execute remote code. Due to improper authority checks the attacker could perform operations on the PC under the user's authority. IBM X-Force ID: 268273.
An issue in Dromara SaToken version 1.3.50RC and before when using Spring dynamic controllers, a specially crafted request may cause an authentication bypass.
Kirby is a content management system. A vulnerability in versions prior to 3.5.8.3, 3.6.6.3, 3.7.5.2, 3.8.4.1, and 3.9.6 affects all Kirby sites that might have potential attackers in the group of authenticated Panel users or that allow external visitors to update a Kirby content file (e.g. via a contact or comment form). Kirby sites are *not* affected if they don't allow write access for untrusted users or visitors. A field injection in a content storage implementation is a type of vulnerability that allows attackers with content write access to overwrite content fields that the site developer didn't intend to be modified. In a Kirby site this can be used to alter site content, break site behavior or inject malicious data or code. The exact security risk depends on the field type and usage. Kirby stores content of the site, of pages, files and users in text files by default. The text files use Kirby's KirbyData format where each field is separated by newlines and a line with four dashes (`----`). When reading a KirbyData file, the affected code first removed the Unicode BOM sequence from the file contents and afterwards split the content into fields by the field separator. When writing to a KirbyData file, field separators in field data are escaped to prevent user input from interfering with the field structure. However this escaping could be tricked by including a Unicode BOM sequence in a field separator (e.g. `--\xEF\xBB\xBF--`). When writing, this was not detected as a separator, but because the BOM was removed during reading, it could be abused by attackers to inject other field data into content files. Because each field can only be defined once per content file, this vulnerability only affects fields in the content file that were defined above the vulnerable user-writable field or not at all. Fields that are defined below the vulnerable field override the injected field content and were therefore already protected. The problem has been patched in Kirby 3.5.8.3, 3.6.6.3, 3.7.5.2, 3.8.4.1, and 3.9.6. In all of the mentioned releases, the maintainers have fixed the affected code to only remove the Unicode BOM sequence at the beginning of the file. This fixes this vulnerability both for newly written as well as for existing content files.
Improper authorization check and possible privilege escalation on Apache Superset up to but excluding 2.1.2. Using the default examples database connection that allows access to both the examples schema and Apache Superset's metadata database, an attacker using a specially crafted CTE SQL statement could change data on the metadata database. This weakness could result on tampering with the authentication/authorization data.
In S+ Operations and S+ Historian, not all client commands correctly check user permission as expected. Authenticated but Unauthorized remote users could execute a Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack, execute arbitrary code, or obtain more privilege than intended on the machines.
The Media from FTP WordPress plugin before 11.17 does not properly limit who can use the plugin, which may allow users with author+ privileges to move files around, like wp-config.php, which may lead to RCE in some cases.
A flaw was found in Quarkus. The state and potentially associated permissions can leak from one web request to another in RestEasy Reactive. This flaw allows a low-privileged user to perform operations on the database with a different set of privileges than intended.
Improper Access Control to Remote Code Execution in GitHub repository webmin/webmin prior to 1.990.
In Mailu before version 1.7, an authenticated user can exploit a vulnerability in Mailu fetchmail script and gain full access to a Mailu instance. Mailu servers that have open registration or untrusted users are most impacted. The master and 1.7 branches are patched on our git repository. All Docker images published on docker.io/mailu for tags 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 and master are patched. For detailed instructions about patching and securing the server afterwards, see https://github.com/Mailu/Mailu/issues/1354
Adobe Commerce versions 2.4.7-beta1 (and earlier), 2.4.6-p2 (and earlier), 2.4.5-p4 (and earlier) and 2.4.4-p5 (and earlier) are affected by an Incorrect Authorization . An authenticated attacker can exploit this to achieve information exposure and privilege escalation.
IBM Data Risk Manager (iDNA) 2.0.6 could allow an authenticated user to escalate their privileges to administrator due to insufficient authorization checks. IBM X-Force ID: 184981.
An issue was discovered in the XCloner Backup and Restore plugin before 4.2.13 for WordPress. It gave authenticated attackers the ability to modify arbitrary files, including PHP files. Doing so would allow an attacker to achieve remote code execution. The xcloner_restore.php write_file_action could overwrite wp-config.php, for example. Alternatively, an attacker could create an exploit chain to obtain a database dump.
M/Monit 3.7.4 contains a privilege escalation vulnerability that allows authenticated users to modify user permissions by manipulating the admin parameter. Attackers can send a POST request to the /api/1/admin/users/update endpoint with a crafted payload to grant administrative access to a standard user account.
iDS6 DSSPro Digital Signage System 6.2 contains an improper access control vulnerability that allows authenticated users to elevate privileges through console JavaScript functions. Attackers can create users, modify roles and permissions, and potentially achieve full application takeover by exploiting insecure direct object references.
Autolab, a course management service that enables auto-graded programming assignments, has misconfigured reset password permissions in version 3.0.0. For email-based accounts, users with insufficient privileges could reset and theoretically access privileged users' accounts by resetting their passwords. This issue is fixed in version 3.0.1. No known workarounds exist.
MinIO is a Kubernetes native application for cloud storage. Prior to version `RELEASE.2021-12-27T07-23-18Z`, a malicious client can hand-craft an HTTP API call that allows for updating policy for a user and gaining higher privileges. The patch in version `RELEASE.2021-12-27T07-23-18Z` changes the accepted request body type and removes the ability to apply policy changes through this API. There is a workaround for this vulnerability: Changing passwords can be disabled by adding an explicit `Deny` rule to disable the API for users.
Weak access control in Wing FTP Server (Admin Web Client) allows for privilege escalation. This issue affects Wing FTP Server: <= 7.2.0.
The Fancy Product Designer plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of site options due to a missing capability check on the fpd_update_options function in versions up to, and including, 4.6.9. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with subscriber-level permissions to modify site options, including setting the default role to administrator which can allow privilege escalation.
A vulnerability in the REST API endpoint of Cisco Data Center Network Manager (DCNM) could allow an authenticated, remote attacker with a low-privileged account to bypass authorization on the API of an affected device. The vulnerability is due to insufficient authorization of certain API functions. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted request to the API using low-privileged credentials. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to perform arbitrary actions through the REST API with administrative privileges.
Konga v0.14.9 is affected by an incorrect access control vulnerability where a specially crafted request can lead to privilege escalation.
The ACL (Access Control List) of SAP Message Server - versions KERNEL 7.22, KERNEL 7.53, KERNEL 7.54, KERNEL 7.77, RNL64UC 7.22, RNL64UC 7.22EXT, RNL64UC 7.53, KRNL64NUC 7.22, KRNL64NUC 7.22EXT, can be bypassed in certain conditions, which may enable an authenticated malicious user to enter the network of the SAP systems served by the attacked SAP Message server. This may lead to unauthorized read and write of data as well as rendering the system unavailable.
An improper access control vulnerability [CWE-284] in FortiWLC 8.6.1 and below may allow an authenticated and remote attacker with low privileges to execute any command as an admin user with full access rights via bypassing the GUI restrictions.
Jenkins Gitlab Authentication Plugin 1.5 and earlier does not perform group authorization checks properly, resulting in a privilege escalation vulnerability.
A flaw was found in Keycloak in versions from 12.0.0 and before 15.1.1 which allows an attacker with any existing user account to create new default user accounts via the administrative REST API even when new user registration is disabled.
An incorrect authorization vulnerability [CWE-863] in FortiMail webmail version 7.2.0 through 7.2.2, version 7.0.0 through 7.0.5 and below 6.4.7 allows an authenticated attacker to login on other users accounts from the same web domain via crafted HTTP or HTTPs requests.
Incorrect user role checking in multiple REST API endpoints in ProLion CryptoSpike 3.0.15P2 allows a remote attacker with low privileges to execute privileged functions and achieve privilege escalation via REST API endpoint invocation.
