CImg Library: Uncontrolled Memory Allocation and Memory Leak in `_load_analyze()` via Crafted NIfTI/Analyze Header

CImg Library is a C++ library for image processing. Prior to version 4.0.0 in `_load_analyze()`, the header_size field is read as an `unsigned int` from the first 4 bytes of an Analyze/NIfTI file and passed directly to `new unsigned char[header_size]` without being bounded against the actual file size. A value up to ~4 GB is accepted. If the subsequent `fread` returns `short` as it will for any malformed file), the function throws a `CImgIOException` and the allocated buffer is never freed. A 6-byte crafted file is sufficient to trigger an allocation of ~1.3 GB per call, with the full allocation leaked on every error path. The issue is reachable via `load_analyze()` and the generic `load()` when the file extension is .hdr, .img, or .nii. Version 4.0.0 fixes the issue.

CImg Library: Uncontrolled memory allocation via nb_colors field in _load_bmp

CImg Library is a C++ library for image processing. Prior to commit c3aacf5, the nb_colors field read from the BMP file header is used directly to compute an allocation size without validating it against the remaining file size. A crafted BMP file with a large nb_colors value triggers an out-of-memory condition, crashing any application that uses CImg to load untrusted BMP files. This issue has been patched via commit c3aacf5.

Archive::Tar versions before 3.10 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via attacker controlled entry size field in tar header

Archive::Tar versions before 3.10 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via attacker controlled entry size field in tar header. _read_tar() reads each entry's payload with $handle->read($$data, $block), where $block is derived from the entry's 12-byte size field in the tar header with no upper bound on that value. A crafted header declaring a multi-gigabyte size causes Perl to allocate a scalar of that size.

Undertow: outofmemoryerror due to @multipartconfig handling

A flaw was found in undertow. Servlets annotated with @MultipartConfig may cause an OutOfMemoryError due to large multipart content. This may allow unauthorized users to cause remote Denial of Service (DoS) attack. If the server uses fileSizeThreshold to limit the file size, it's possible to bypass the limit by setting the file name in the request to null.

Ollama Remote Denial of Service via Attacker-Controlled Allocation in GGUF Metadata Parser

Ollama (HEAD f0078ae) contains an uncontrolled memory allocation vulnerability in the GGUF metadata parser that allows remote attackers to crash the server by supplying a crafted GGUF file with attacker-controlled length and count fields in string lengths, tensor dimension counts, and metadata array counts that are used as allocation sizes without validation against remaining file size. Attackers can upload a sub-1KB crafted GGUF file via the blob upload and model create or pull API endpoints to trigger unrecoverable Go runtime out-of-memory fatal errors or makeslice panics that bypass recovery middleware and crash the entire server process.

Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved: In a BGP rib sharding scenario when a route is frequently updated an rpd memory leak will occur

A Missing Release of Memory after Effective Lifetime vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated, network based attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS). In a BGP rib sharding scenario, when an attribute of an active BGP route is updated memory will leak. As rpd memory usage increases over time the rpd process will eventually run out of memory, crash, and restart. The memory utilization can be monitored with the following CLI commands: show task memory show system processes extensive | match rpd This issue affects: Juniper Networks Junos OS 20.3 versions prior to 20.3R3-S2; 20.4 versions prior to 20.4R3-S6; 21.1 versions prior to 21.1R3; 21.2 versions prior to 21.2R3; 21.3 versions prior to 21.3R2. Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved 20.3-EVO version 20.3R1-EVO and later versions; 20.4-EVO versions prior to 20.4R3-S6-EVO; 21.2-EVO versions prior to 21.2R3-EVO; 21.3-EVO versions prior to 21.3R2-EVO.

GSS-NTLMSSP vulnerable to memory leak when parsing usernames

GSS-NTLMSSP is a mechglue plugin for the GSSAPI library that implements NTLM authentication. Prior to version 1.2.0, a memory leak can be triggered when parsing usernames which can trigger a denial-of-service. The domain portion of a username may be overridden causing an allocated memory area the size of the domain name to be leaked. An attacker can leak memory via the main `gss_accept_sec_context` entry point, potentially causing a denial-of-service. This issue is fixed in version 1.2.0.

Pillow JPEG2000 tiled decode retains a growing scratch buffer and can be used for denial of service

Pillow is a Python imaging library. From 8.2.0 through 12.2.0, src/libImaging/Jpeg2KDecode.c accumulates total_component_width across every tile in a JPEG2000 image instead of recomputing it per tile, allowing a crafted tiled JPEG2000 file to force substantially higher transient memory usage and trigger out-of-memory failures during decoding. TLS 1.3 server denial of service via malformed ClientHello pre-shared key extension

The Erlang/OTP ssl application does not validate that the PSK identity list and binder list carried in a TLS 1.3 ClientHello pre-shared key extension have equal length before passing them to the session ticket handler. In tls_handshake_1_3:handle_pre_shared_key/3, an OfferedPreSharedKeys record with a mismatched number of identities and binders is forwarded directly to tls_server_session_ticket:use/4, which crashes the session ticket handler process. An unauthenticated remote attacker can send a single crafted ClientHello to a TLS 1.3 server with session tickets enabled (stateful or stateless mode) and permanently disrupt session ticket handling on that listener. New TLS 1.3 handshakes complete but subsequently crash when the server attempts to issue a session ticket, effectively making TLS 1.3 unusable on the affected listener until the ssl application is restarted. TLS 1.2 connections are not affected. This issue affects OTP from OTP 22.2 before OTP 29.0.3, OTP 28.5.0.3 and OTP 27.3.4.14, corresponding to ssl from 9.5 before 11.7.3, 11.6.0.3 and 11.2.12.10.

JavaScript::Minifier::XS versions before 0.16 for Perl leak memory on every call to minify(), allowing unbounded memory growth

JavaScript::Minifier::XS versions before 0.16 for Perl leak memory on every call to minify(), allowing unbounded memory growth. In JsMinify (XS.xs) the cleanup frees only the NodeSet structures and never the per-token contents buffers allocated in JsSetNodeContents; JsDiscardNode unlinks nodes without freeing their contents. Each token's contents buffer is therefore leaked on every call, and the two early returns taken when the node list is empty leak the whole NodeSet. A long-lived process that minifies repeatedly, such as an asset pipeline or a server-side minifier endpoint, grows in memory without bound until it exhausts available memory and is killed, causing denial of service.

Junos OS: MX with SPC3, SRX Series: A specifically malformed TCP packet causes a flowd crash

An Improper Validation of Specified Quantity in Input vulnerability in the TCP proxy plugin of Juniper Networks Junos OS on MX Series with SPC3, and SRX Series allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to cause a complete Denial of Service (DoS). When TCP proxy is engaged in a flow session, to support ALGs, Advanced Anti-Malware, ICAP or UTM, a TCP packet with specifically malformed TCP header will cause flow processing daemon (flowd) to crash and restart. This causes a complete service outage until the system has automatically recovered. This issue affects Junos OS on MX with SPC3, and SRX Series:  * 23.4 versions before 23.4R2-S7,  * 24.2 versions before 24.2R2-S4,  * 24.4 versions before 24.4R2-S3, * 25.2 versions before 25.2R2. Netty: HTTP/2 decompression leaks ByteBuf reference count when the decompressor channel is already closed (Direct memory leak / OOM DoS)

Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. In versions 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.15.Final and 4.1.0.Final through 4.1.135.Final, a remote unauthenticated peer can leak one direct `ByteBuf` per HTTP/2 `DATA` frame in applications that enable HTTP/2 content decompression via `DelegatingDecompressorFrameListener`. When a `DATA` frame is processed for a stream whose decompressor has already been closed, `Http2Decompressor.decompress(...)` calls `decompressor.writeInbound(data.retain())` and does not release the retained buffer on the error path, eventually exhausting direct memory and crashing the JVM. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final.

On affected platforms running Arista EOS with SNMP configured, a specially crafted packet can cause a memory leak in the snmpd process.

On affected platforms running Arista EOS with SNMP configured, a specially crafted packet can cause a memory leak in the snmpd process. This may result in the snmpd processing being terminated (causing SNMP requests to time out until snmpd is automatically restarted) and potential memory resource exhaustion for other processes on the switch. The vulnerability does not have any confidentiality or integrity impacts to the system.

vLLM: Remote DoS in vLLM via Invalid Recovered Token Reinjection

vLLM is a high-throughput and memory-efficient inference and serving engine for LLMs. Prior to 0.24.0, a frontend-legal multi-request speculative decoding workload can cause the rejection sampler to produce a recovered token equal to the model vocabulary size boundary value, which is then converted to negative one when the engine selects the next live token for a request and is written back into the drafter's input ids; that out-of-vocabulary value is later consumed by the model's embedding and attention path and crashes the engine worker with a GPU device-side assertion. The same triggering request sequence is reachable through the public gRPC Generate and Abort endpoints, so a remote client that can send generation requests can crash the shared engine worker, aborting concurrent requests and causing a service-wide denial of service for other clients of the deployment until the worker is restarted. This issue is fixed in version 0.24.0.

Junos OS: MX Series with MPC10/MPC11: When Suspicious Control Flow Detection (scfd) is enabled and an attacker is sending specific traffic, this causes a memory leak.

A Missing Release of Memory after Effective Lifetime vulnerability in the Juniper Networks Junos OS on MX Series platforms with MPC10/MPC11 line cards, allows an unauthenticated adjacent attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS). Devices are only vulnerable when the Suspicious Control Flow Detection (scfd) feature is enabled. Upon enabling this specific feature, an attacker sending specific traffic is causing memory to be allocated dynamically and it is not freed. Memory is not freed even after deactivating this feature. Sustained processing of such traffic will eventually lead to an out of memory condition that prevents all services from continuing to function, and requires a manual restart to recover. The FPC memory usage can be monitored using the CLI command "show chassis fpc". On running the above command, the memory of AftDdosScfdFlow can be observed to detect the memory leak. This issue affects Juniper Networks Junos OS on MX Series: All versions prior to 20.2R3-S5; 20.3 version 20.3R1 and later versions.
