Dell Encryption versions prior to 10.8 and Dell Endpoint Security Suite versions prior to 2.8 contain a privilege escalation vulnerability because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2020-5358. A local malicious user with low privileges could potentially exploit this vulnerability to gain elevated privilege on the affected system with the help of a symbolic link.
PyInstaller bundles a Python application and all its dependencies into a single package. A PyInstaller built application, elevated as a privileged process, may be tricked by an unprivileged attacker into deleting files the unprivileged user does not otherwise have access to. A user is affected if **all** the following are satisfied: 1. The user runs an application containing either `matplotlib` or `win32com`. 2. The application is ran as administrator (or at least a user with higher privileges than the attacker). 3. The user's temporary directory is not locked to that specific user (most likely due to `TMP`/`TEMP` environment variables pointing to an unprotected, arbitrary, non default location). Either: A. The attacker is able to very carefully time the replacement of a temporary file with a symlink. This switch must occur exactly between `shutil.rmtree()`'s builtin symlink check and the deletion itself B: The application was built with Python 3.7.x or earlier which has no protection against Directory Junctions links. The vulnerability has been addressed in PR #7827 which corresponds to `pyinstaller >= 5.13.1`. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.

A vulnerability in Cisco SD-WAN Software could allow an authenticated, local attacker to elevate privileges to root group on the underlying operating system. The vulnerability is due to incorrect permissions being set when the affected command is executed. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by executing the affected command on an affected system. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to gain root privileges.
A vulnerability has been identified in SICAM PAS/PQS (All versions >= V8.00 < V8.20). The affected application is installed with specific files and folders with insecure permissions. This could allow an authenticated local attacker to inject arbitrary code and escalate privileges to `NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM`.

Golden Frog VyprVPN 2.12.1.8015 for Windows suffers from a SYSTEM privilege escalation vulnerability through the "VyprVPN" service. This service establishes a NetNamedPipe endpoint that allows applications to connect and call publicly exposed methods. The "SetProperty" method allows an attacker to configure the "AdditionalOpenVpnParameters" property and control the OpenVPN command line. Using the OpenVPN "plugin" parameter, an attacker may specify a dynamic library plugin that should run for every new VPN connection attempt. This plugin will execute code in the context of the SYSTEM user. This attack may be conducted using "VyprVPN Free" account credentials and the VyprVPN Desktop Client.
The AsrDrv101.sys and AsrDrv102.sys low-level drivers in ASRock RGBLED before v1.0.35.1, A-Tuning before v3.0.210, F-Stream before v3.0.210, and RestartToUEFI before v1.0.6.2 expose functionality to read and write arbitrary physical memory. This could be leveraged by a local attacker to elevate privileges.
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in MicroWorld eScan Anti-Virus 7.0.32 on Linux. This affects an unknown part of the file runasroot. The manipulation leads to incorrect execution-assigned permissions. The attack needs to be approached locally. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The associated identifier of this vulnerability is VDB-237315. NOTE: The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
A vulnerability has been identified in Spectrum Power 7 (All versions < V23Q4). The affected product's sudo configuration permits the local administrative account to execute several entries as root user. This could allow an authenticated local attacker to inject arbitrary code and gain root access.
In Flatpak before 0.8.7, a third-party app repository could include malicious apps that contain files with inappropriate permissions, for example setuid or world-writable. The files are deployed with those permissions, which would let a local attacker run the setuid executable or write to the world-writable location. In the case of the "system helper" component, files deployed as part of the app are owned by root, so in the worst case they could be setuid root.
The I2O Utility Filter driver (i2omgmt.sys) 5.1.2600.2180 for Microsoft Windows XP sets Everyone/Write permissions for the "\\.\I2OExc" device interface, which allows local users to gain privileges. NOTE: this issue can be leveraged to overwrite arbitrary memory and execute code via an IOCTL call with a crafted DeviceObject pointer.
The Xamarin.iOS update component on systems running macOS allows an attacker to run arbitrary code as root, aka "Xamarin.iOS Elevation Of Privilege Vulnerability."
Riverbed RiOS before 9.0.1 does not properly restrict shell access in single-user mode, which makes it easier for physically proximate attackers to obtain root privileges and access decrypted data by replacing the /opt/tms/bin/cli file.
