As a result, when the tcp sock in netns_1 processes the received message, it sends the message (FIN message) in the sending queue, and the tcp timer is re-established. When the network namespace is deleted, the net structure accessed by tcp's timer handler function causes problems. To fix this problem, let's hold netns refcnt for the tcp kernel socket as done in other modules. This is an ugly hack which can easily be backported to earlier kernels. A proper fix which cleans up the interfaces will follow, but may not be so easy to backport.

RDMA/iwcm: Fix WARNING:at_kernel/workqueue.c:#check_flush_dependency

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/iwcm: Fix WARNING:at_kernel/workqueue.c:#check_flush_dependency In the commit aee2424246f9 ("RDMA/iwcm: Fix a use-after-free related to destroying CM IDs"), the function flush_workqueue is invoked to flush the work queue iwcm_wq. But at that time, the work queue iwcm_wq was created via the function alloc_ordered_workqueue without the flag WQ_MEM_RECLAIM. Because the current process is trying to flush the whole iwcm_wq, if iwcm_wq doesn't have the flag WQ_MEM_RECLAIM, verify that the current process is not reclaiming memory or running on a workqueue which doesn't have the flag WQ_MEM_RECLAIM as that can break forward-progress guarantee leading to a deadlock. af_unix: Don't return OOB skb in manage_oob().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Don't return OOB skb in manage_oob(). syzbot reported use-after-free in unix_stream_recv_urg(). [0] The scenario is 1. send(MSG_OOB) 2. recv(MSG_OOB) -> The consumed OOB remains in recv queue 3. send(MSG_OOB) 4. recv() -> manage_oob() returns the next skb of the consumed OOB -> This is also OOB, but unix_sk(sk)->oob_skb is not cleared 5. recv(MSG_OOB) -> unix_sk(sk)->oob_skb is used but already freed The recent commit 8594d9b85c07 ("af_unix: Don't call skb_get() for OOB skb.") uncovered the issue. If the OOB skb is consumed and the next skb is peeked in manage_oob(), we still need to check if the skb is OOB. Let's do so by falling back to the following checks in manage_oob() and add the test case in selftest. Note that we need to add a similar check for SIOCATMARK. wifi: rtw88: always wait for both firmware loading attempts

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: rtw88: always wait for both firmware loading attempts In 'rtw_wait_firmware_completion()', always wait for both (regular and wowlan) firmware loading attempts. Otherwise if 'rtw_usb_intf_init()' has failed in 'rtw_usb_probe()', 'rtw_usb_disconnect()' may issue 'ieee80211_free_hw()' when one of 'rtw_load_firmware_cb()' (usually the wowlan one) is still in progress, causing UAF detected by KASAN.

drm/xe: prevent UAF around preempt fence

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: prevent UAF around preempt fence The fence lock is part of the queue, therefore in the current design anything locking the fence should then also hold a ref to the queue to prevent the queue from being freed. However, currently it looks like we signal the fence and then drop the queue ref, but if something is waiting on the fence, the waiter is kicked to wake up at some later point, where upon waking up it first grabs the lock before checking the fence state. But if we have already dropped the queue ref, then the lock might already be freed as part of the queue, leading to uaf. To prevent this, move the fence lock into the fence itself so we don't run into lifetime issues. Alternative might be to have device level lock, or only release the queue in the fence release callback, however that might require pushing to another worker to avoid locking issues. VMCI: Fix use-after-free when removing resource in vmci_resource_remove()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: VMCI: Fix use-after-free when removing resource in vmci_resource_remove() When removing a resource from vmci_resource_table in vmci_resource_remove(), the search is performed using the resource handle by comparing context and resource fields. It is possible though to create two resources with different types but same handle (same context and resource fields). When trying to remove one of the resources, vmci_resource_remove() may not remove the intended one, but the object will still be freed as in the case of the datagram type in vmci_datagram_destroy_handle(). vmci_resource_table will still hold a pointer to this freed resource leading to a use-after-free vulnerability. usb: dwc3: st: fix probed platform device ref count on probe error path

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: dwc3: st: fix probed platform device ref count on probe error path The probe function never performs any paltform device allocation, thus error path "undo_platform_dev_alloc" is entirely bogus. It drops the reference count from the platform device being probed. If error path is triggered, this will lead to unbalanced device reference counts and premature release of device resources, thus possible use-after-free when releasing remaining devm-managed resources.

idpf: fix memory leaks and crashes while performing a soft reset

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: idpf: fix memory leaks and crashes while performing a soft reset The second tagged commit introduced a UAF, as it removed restoring q_vector->vport pointers after reinitializating the structures. This is due to that all queue allocation functions are performed here with the new temporary vport structure and those functions rewrite the backpointers to the vport. Then, this new struct is freed and the pointers start leading to nowhere. But generally speaking, the current logic is very fragile. It claims to be more reliable when the system is low on memory, but in fact, it consumes two times more memory as at the moment of running this function, there are two vports allocated with their queues and vectors. Moreover, it claims to prevent the driver from running into "bad state", but in fact, any error during the rebuild leaves the old vport in the partially allocated state. Finally, if the interface is down when the function is called, it always allocates a new queue set, but when the user decides to enable the interface later on, vport_open() allocates them once again, IOW there's a clear memory leak here. Just don't allocate a new queue set when performing a reset, that solves crashes and memory leaks. Readd the old queue number and reopen the interface on rollback - that solves limbo states when the device is left disabled and/or without HW queues enabled.

idpf: fix UAFs when destroying the queues

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: idpf: fix UAFs when destroying the queues The second tagged commit started sometimes (very rarely, but possible) throwing WARNs from net/core/page_pool.c:page_pool_disable_direct_recycling(). Turned out idpf frees interrupt vectors with embedded NAPIs *before* freeing the queues making page_pools' NAPI pointers lead to freed memory before these pools are destroyed by libeth. It's not clear whether there are other accesses to the freed vectors when destroying the queues, but anyway, we usually free queue/interrupt vectors only when the queues are destroyed and the NAPIs are guaranteed to not be referenced anywhere. Invert the allocation and freeing logic making queue/interrupt vectors be allocated first and freed last. Vectors don't require queues to be present, so this is safe. Additionally, this change allows to remove that useless queue->q_vector pointer cleanup, as vectors are still valid when freeing the queues (+ both are freed within one function, so it's not clear why nullify the pointers at all).

drm/xe: Free job before xe_exec_queue_put

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: Free job before xe_exec_queue_put Free job depends on job->vm being valid, the last xe_exec_queue_put can destroy the VM. Prevent UAF by freeing job before xe_exec_queue_put. (cherry picked from commit 32a42c93b74c8ca6d0915ea3eba21bceff53042f)

Use-after-free in Linux kernel's netfilter: nf_tables component

A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's netfilter: nf_tables component can be exploited to achieve local privilege escalation. The function nft_pipapo_walk did not skip inactive elements during set walk which could lead double deactivations of PIPAPO (Pile Packet Policies) elements, leading to use-after-free. We recommend upgrading past commit 317eb9685095678f2c9f5a8189de698c5354316a.

Use-after-free in Linux kernel's ipv4: igmp component

A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ipv4: igmp component can be exploited to achieve local privilege escalation. leds: trigger: Unregister sysfs attributes before calling deactivate()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: leds: trigger: Unregister sysfs attributes before calling deactivate() Triggers which have trigger specific sysfs attributes typically store related data in trigger-data allocated by the activate() callback and freed by the deactivate() callback. Calling device_remove_groups() after calling deactivate() leaves a window where the sysfs attributes show/store functions could be called after deactivation and then operate on the just freed trigger-data. Move the device_remove_groups() call to before deactivate() to close this race window. This also makes the deactivation path properly do things in reverse order of the activation path which calls the activate() callback before calling device_add_groups().

RDMA/iwcm: Fix a use-after-free related to destroying CM IDs

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/iwcm: Fix a use-after-free related to destroying CM IDs iw_conn_req_handler() associates a new struct rdma_id_private (conn_id) with an existing struct iw_cm_id (cm_id) as follows: conn_id->cm_id.iw = cm_id; cm_id->context = conn_id; cm_id->cm_handler = cma_iw_handler; rdma_destroy_id() frees both the cm_id and the struct rdma_id_private. Make sure that cm_work_handler() does not trigger a use-after-free by only freeing of the struct rdma_id_private after all pending work has finished.
