PowerDNS Recursor from 4.1.0 up to and including 4.3.0 does not sufficiently defend against amplification attacks. An issue in the DNS protocol has been found that allow malicious parties to use recursive DNS services to attack third party authoritative name servers. The attack uses a crafted reply by an authoritative name server to amplify the resulting traffic between the recursive and other authoritative name servers. Both types of service can suffer degraded performance as an effect. This is triggered by random subdomains in the NSDNAME in NS records. PowerDNS Recursor 4.1.16, 4.2.2 and 4.3.1 contain a mitigation to limit the impact of this DNS protocol issue.
A segmentation violaton in the gf_hevc_read_sps_bs_internal function (media_tools/av_parsers.c) of GPAC MP4Box v2.4 allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via supplying crafted HEVC SPS data.
Mercedes Benz head-unit NTG 6 contains functions to import or export profile settings over USB. During parsing you can trigger that the service will be crashed.
A vulnerability in the cryptographic hardware accelerator driver of Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause an affected device to reload, resulting in a temporary denial of service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability exists because the affected devices have a limited amount of Direct Memory Access (DMA) memory and the affected software improperly handles resources in low-memory conditions. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a sustained, high rate of malicious traffic to an affected device to exhaust memory on the device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to exhaust DMA memory on the affected device, which could cause the device to reload and result in a temporary DoS condition.
In Indy Node 1.12.2, there is an Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability. Indy Node has a bug in TAA handling code. The current primary can be crashed with a malformed transaction from a client, which leads to a view change. Repeated rapid view changes have the potential of bringing down the network. This is fixed in version 1.12.3.
cpp-httplib is a C++11 single-file header-only cross platform HTTP/HTTPS library. In version 0.21.0, when many http headers fields are passed in, the library does not limit the number of headers, and the memory associated with the headers will not be released when the connection is disconnected. This leads to potential exhaustion of system memory and results in a server crash or unresponsiveness. Version 0.22.0 contains a patch for the issue.
Bitcoin Core before 24.1, when debug mode is not used, allows attackers to cause a denial of service (e.g., CPU consumption) because draining the inventory-to-send queue is inefficient, as exploited in the wild in May 2023.
Cloud Foundry routing release versions from v0.163.0 to v0.283.0 are vulnerable to a DOS attack. An unauthenticated attacker can use this vulnerability to force route pruning and therefore degrade the service availability of the Cloud Foundry deployment.
fast-xml-parser is an open source, pure javascript xml parser. fast-xml-parser allows special characters in entity names, which are not escaped or sanitized. Since the entity name is used for creating a regex for searching and replacing entities in the XML body, an attacker can abuse it for denial of service (DoS) attacks. By crafting an entity name that results in an intentionally bad performing regex and utilizing it in the entity replacement step of the parser, this can cause the parser to stall for an indefinite amount of time. This problem has been resolved in v4.2.4. Users are advised to upgrade. Users unable to upgrade should avoid using DOCTYPE parsing by setting the `processEntities: false` option.
An incomplete fix for CVE-2020-12662 was shipped for Unbound in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, as part of erratum RHSA-2020:2414. Vulnerable versions of Unbound could still amplify an incoming query into a large number of queries directed to a target, even with a lower amplification ratio compared to versions of Unbound that shipped before the mentioned erratum. This issue is about the incomplete fix for CVE-2020-12662, and it does not affect upstream versions of Unbound.
Yet Another Reverse Proxy (YARP) Denial of Service Vulnerability
In Message and toBundle of Notification.java, there is a possible resource exhaustion due to improper input validation. This could lead to remote denial of service requiring a device reset to fix with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.Product: AndroidVersions: Android-11 Android-8.0 Android-8.1 Android-9 Android-10Android ID: A-158304295
An issue in Open5GS v2.7.2 and before allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service via a crafted Create Session Request message to the SMF (PGW-C), using the IP address of a legitimate UE in the PDN Address Allocation (PAA) field

A denial of service vulnerability exists in the affected products. The vulnerability could be exploited by an attacker with network access to the device. Successful exploitation requires no privileges and no user interaction. An attacker could use the vulnerability to compromise availability of the affected system. At the time of advisory publication no public exploitation of this security vulnerability was known.
On BIG-IP 15.0.0-15.0.1, 14.1.0-14.1.0.5, 14.0.0-14.0.0.4, 13.1.0-13.1.1.5, 12.1.0-12.1.4.1, and 11.5.1-11.6.5, under certain conditions, TMM may consume excessive resources when processing traffic for a Virtual Server with the FIX (Financial Information eXchange) profile applied.
With pipelining enabled each incoming query on a TCP connection requires a similar resource allocation to a query received via UDP or via TCP without pipelining enabled. A client using a TCP-pipelined connection to a server could consume more resources than the server has been provisioned to handle. When a TCP connection with a large number of pipelined queries is closed, the load on the server releasing these multiple resources can cause it to become unresponsive, even for queries that can be answered authoritatively or from cache. (This is most likely to be perceived as an intermittent server problem).
When the BIG-IP APM 14.1.0-14.1.2, 14.0.0-14.0.1, 13.1.0-13.1.3.1, 12.1.0-12.1.4.1, or 11.5.1-11.6.5 system processes certain requests, the APD/APMD daemon may consume excessive resources.
IBM Security Access Manager Container (IBM Security Verify Access Appliance 10.0.0.0 through 10.0.6.1 and IBM Security Verify Access Docker 10.0.0.0 through 10.0.6.1) is vulnerable to a denial of service attacks on the DSC server. IBM X-Force ID: 254776.
ruby-saml provides security assertion markup language (SAML) single sign-on (SSO) for Ruby. Prior to versions 1.12.4 and 1.18.0, ruby-saml is susceptible to remote Denial of Service (DoS) with compressed SAML responses. ruby-saml uses zlib to decompress SAML responses in case they're compressed. It is possible to bypass the message size check with a compressed assertion since the message size is checked before inflation and not after. This issue may lead to remote Denial of Service (DoS). Versions 1.12.4 and 1.18.0 fix the issue.
regex is an implementation of regular expressions for the Rust language. The regex crate features built-in mitigations to prevent denial of service attacks caused by untrusted regexes, or untrusted input matched by trusted regexes. Those (tunable) mitigations already provide sane defaults to prevent attacks. This guarantee is documented and it's considered part of the crate's API. Unfortunately a bug was discovered in the mitigations designed to prevent untrusted regexes to take an arbitrary amount of time during parsing, and it's possible to craft regexes that bypass such mitigations. This makes it possible to perform denial of service attacks by sending specially crafted regexes to services accepting user-controlled, untrusted regexes. All versions of the regex crate before or equal to 1.5.4 are affected by this issue. The fix is include starting from regex 1.5.5. All users accepting user-controlled regexes are recommended to upgrade immediately to the latest version of the regex crate. Unfortunately there is no fixed set of problematic regexes, as there are practically infinite regexes that could be crafted to exploit this vulnerability. Because of this, it us not recommend to deny known problematic regexes.
CometD is a scalable comet implementation for web messaging. In versions 5.0.0 through 5.0.22, 6.0.0 through 6.0.18, 7.0.0 through 7.0.18, and 8.0.0 through 8.0.8, bad clients that always send a fixed batch value when the server is using the acknowledgement extension may cause the unacknowledged message queue to grow indefinitely, eventually causing an `OutOfMemoryError`. Versions 5.0.23, 6.0.19, 7.0.19, and 8.0.9 patch the issue. As a workaround, disable the acknowledgement extension.
Logstash versions before 7.4.1 and 6.8.4 contain a denial of service flaw in the Logstash Beats input plugin. An unauthenticated user who is able to connect to the port the Logstash beats input could send a specially crafted network packet that would cause Logstash to stop responding.
Mitsubishi Electric Q03/04/06/13/26UDVCPU: serial number 20081 and prior, Q04/06/13/26UDPVCPU: serial number 20081 and prior, and Q03UDECPU, Q04/06/10/13/20/26/50/100UDEHCPU: serial number 20101 and prior. A remote attacker can send specific bytes over Port 5007 that will result in an Ethernet stack crash and disruption to USB communication.
Adacore Ada Web Server (AWS) before 25.2 is vulnerable to a denial-of-service (DoS) condition due to improper handling of SSL handshakes during connection initialization. When a client initiates an HTTPS connection, the server performs the SSL handshake before assigning the connection to a processing slot. However, there is no specific timeout set for this phase, and the server uses the default socket timeout, which is effectively infinite. An attacker can exploit this by sending a malformed TLS ClientHello message with incorrect length values. This causes the server to wait indefinitely for data that never arrives, blocking the worker thread (Line) handling the connection. By opening multiple such connections, up to the server's maximum limit, the attacker can exhaust all available working threads, preventing the server from handling new, legitimate requests.
On versions 15.0.0-15.0.1.1, 14.1.0-14.1.2.2, 14.0.0-14.0.1, 13.1.0-13.1.3.2, 12.1.0-12.1.5, and 11.5.2-11.6.5.1, BIG-IP virtual servers with Loose Initiation enabled on a FastL4 profile may be subject to excessive flow usage under undisclosed conditions.
Vulnerability in the PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools product of Oracle PeopleSoft (component: Performance Monitor). Supported versions that are affected are 8.60, 8.61 and 8.62. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 7.5 (Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H).
A vulnerability was found in y_project RuoYi up to 4.7.7. It has been classified as problematic. Affected is the function filterKeyword. The manipulation of the argument value leads to resource consumption. VDB-231090 is the identifier assigned to this vulnerability.
On BIG-IP 14.1.0-14.1.2, 14.0.0-14.0.1, and 13.1.0-13.1.1, undisclosed HTTP requests may consume excessive amounts of systems resources which may lead to a denial of service.
Assertion failure in function ngap_build_downlink_nas_transport in file src/amf/ngap-build.c, the Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) component, in Open5GS thru 2.7.5 allowing attackers to cause a denial of service or other unspecified impacts via repeated UE connect and disconnect message sequences.
c-ares is an asynchronous resolver library. c-ares is vulnerable to denial of service. If a target resolver sends a query, the attacker forges a malformed UDP packet with a length of 0 and returns them to the target resolver. The target resolver erroneously interprets the 0 length as a graceful shutdown of the connection. This issue has been patched in version 1.19.1.
An issue has been identified with how Elasticsearch handled incoming requests on the HTTP layer. An unauthenticated user could force an Elasticsearch node to exit with an OutOfMemory error by sending a moderate number of malformed HTTP requests. The issue was identified by Elastic Engineering and we have no indication that the issue is known or that it is being exploited in the wild.
Uncontrolled Resource Consumption in SICK FTMg AIR FLOW SENSOR with Partnumbers 1100214, 1100215, 1100216, 1120114, 1120116, 1122524, 1122526 allows an remote attacker to influence the availability of the webserver by invocing a Slowloris style attack via HTTP requests.
SPARQL Injection in VIVO Vitro v1.10.0 allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SPARQL via the uri parameter, leading to a regular expression denial of service (ReDoS), as demonstrated by crafted use of FILTER%20regex in a /individual?uri= request.
An issue discovered in H3C Magic R365 and H3C Magic R100 routers allows attackers to hijack TCP sessions which could lead to a denial of service.
pluto in Libreswan before 4.11 allows a denial of service (responder SPI mishandling and daemon crash) via unauthenticated IKEv1 Aggressive Mode packets. The earliest affected version is 3.28.
MaterialX is an open standard for the exchange of rich material and look-development content across applications and renderers. In version 1.39.2, nested imports of MaterialX files can lead to a crash via stack memory exhaustion, due to the lack of a limit on the "import chain" depth. When parsing file imports, recursion is used to process nested files; however, there is no limit imposed to the depth of files that can be parsed by the library. By building a sufficiently deep chain of MaterialX files one referencing the next, it is possible to crash the process using the MaterialX library via stack exhaustion. This is fixed in version 1.39.3.
There is a possible denial of service vulnerability in Action View (Rails) <5.2.2.1, <5.1.6.2, <5.0.7.2, <4.2.11.1 where specially crafted accept headers can cause action view to consume 100% cpu and make the server unresponsive.
FON2601E-SE, FON2601E-RE, FON2601E-FSW-S, and FON2601E-FSW-B with firmware versions 1.1.7 and earlier contain an issue where they may behave as open resolvers. If this vulnerability is exploited, FON routers may be leveraged for DNS amplification attacks to some other entities.
A flaw was found in XNIO. The XNIO NotifierState that can cause a Stack Overflow Exception when the chain of notifier states becomes problematically large can lead to uncontrolled resource management and a possible denial of service (DoS).
Attackers can crash a Cisco IOS router or device, provided they can get to an interactive prompt (such as a login). This applies to some IOS 9.x, 10.x, and 11.x releases.
The WBM web application on firmwares prior to 03.02.02 and 03.01.07 on the WAGO PFC100 and PFC2000, respectively, runs on a lighttpd web server and makes use of the FastCGI module, which is intended to provide high performance for all Internet applications without the penalties of Web server APIs. However, the default configuration of this module appears to limit the number of concurrent php-cgi processes to two, which can be abused to cause a denial of service of the entire web server. This affects WAGO PFC200 Firmware version 03.00.39(12) and version 03.01.07(13), and WAGO PFC100 Firmware version 03.00.39(12) and version 03.02.02(14).
TiKV 6.1.2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (fatal error) upon an attempt to get a timestamp from the Placement Driver.
Traefik before 2.10.5 and 3.0.0-beta4 is affected by a denial-of-service vulnerability in HTTP/2 request handling inherited from the Go standard library's HTTP/2 implementation (CVE-2023-44487 / CVE-2023-39325, the 'Rapid Reset' technique). A remote attacker can rapidly create and cancel HTTP/2 streams to exhaust server resources and cause service unavailability.
comrak is a CommonMark + GFM compatible Markdown parser and renderer written in rust. A range of quadratic parsing issues are present in Comrak. These can be used to craft denial-of-service attacks on services that use Comrak to parse Markdown. This issue has been addressed in version 0.17.0. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability. This issue is also tracked as `GHSL-2023-047`
An issue was discovered in Veal98 Echo Open-Source Community System 2.2 thru 2.3 allowing an unauthenticated attacker to cause the server to send email verification messages to arbitrary users via the /sendEmailCodeForResetPwd endpoint potentially causing a denial of service to the server or the downstream users.
Traefik (pronounced traffic) is a modern HTTP reverse proxy and load balancer for deploying microservices. There is a vulnerability in Go when parsing the HTTP headers, which impacts Traefik. HTTP header parsing could allocate substantially more memory than required to hold the parsed headers. This behavior could be exploited to cause a denial of service. This issue has been patched in versions 2.9.10 and 2.10.0-rc2.
Keep-alive HTTP and HTTPS connections can remain open and inactive for up to 2 minutes in Node.js 6.16.0 and earlier. Node.js 8.0.0 introduced a dedicated server.keepAliveTimeout which defaults to 5 seconds. The behavior in Node.js 6.16.0 and earlier is a potential Denial of Service (DoS) attack vector. Node.js 6.17.0 introduces server.keepAliveTimeout and the 5-second default.
