Netty, an asynchronous, event-driven network application framework, has a vulnerability in versions up to and including 4.1.118.Final. An unsafe reading of environment file could potentially cause a denial of service in Netty. When loaded on an Windows application, Netty attempts to load a file that does not exist. If an attacker creates such a large file, the Netty application crash. A similar issue was previously reported as CVE-2024-47535. This issue was fixed, but the fix was incomplete in that null-bytes were not counted against the input limit. Commit d1fbda62d3a47835d3fb35db8bd42ecc205a5386 contains an updated fix.
A security vulnerability has been detected in GPAC up to 26.02.0. This affects the function sidx_box_read of the file src/isomedia/box_code_base.c. The manipulation leads to allocation of resources. The attack must be carried out locally. The exploit has been disclosed publicly and may be used. The identifier of the patch is 442e2299530138d8f874fd885c565ba98a6318ba. It is suggested to install a patch to address this issue.

The Kubernetes kubelet component in versions 1.1-1.16.12, 1.17.0-1.17.8 and 1.18.0-1.18.5 do not account for disk usage by a pod which writes to its own /etc/hosts file. The /etc/hosts file mounted in a pod by kubelet is not included by the kubelet eviction manager when calculating ephemeral storage usage by a pod. If a pod writes a large amount of data to the /etc/hosts file, it could fill the storage space of the node and cause the node to fail.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Prevent crash when disable stream [Why] Disabling stream encoder invokes a function that no longer exists. [How] Check if the function declaration is NULL in disable stream encoder.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pipe: wakeup wr_wait after setting max_usage Commit c73be61cede5 ("pipe: Add general notification queue support") a regression was introduced that would lock up resized pipes under certain conditions. See the reproducer in [1]. The commit resizing the pipe ring size was moved to a different function, doing that moved the wakeup for pipe->wr_wait before actually raising pipe->max_usage. If a pipe was full before the resize occured it would result in the wakeup never actually triggering pipe_write. Set @max_usage and @nr_accounted before waking writers if this isn't a watch queue. [Christian Brauner <brauner@kernel.org>: rewrite to account for watch queues]

systemd 250 and 251 allows local users to achieve a systemd-coredump deadlock by triggering a crash that has a long backtrace. This occurs in parse_elf_object in shared/elf-util.c. The exploitation methodology is to crash a binary calling the same function recursively, and put it in a deeply nested directory to make its backtrace large enough to cause the deadlock. This must be done 16 times when MaxConnections=16 is set for the systemd/units/systemd-coredump.socket file.

Rough callgraph: inetdev_destroy -> ip_mc_destroy_dev -> igmpv3_clear_delrec -> ip_mc_clear_src -> RCU_INIT_POINTER(dev->ip_ptr, NULL) However, ip_mc_clear_src() called in igmpv3_clear_delrec() doesn't release in_dev->mc_list->sources. And RCU_INIT_POINTER() assigns the NULL to dev->ip_ptr. As a result, in_dev cannot be obtained through inetdev_by_index() and then in_dev->mc_list->sources cannot be released by ip_mc_del1_src() in the sock_close. Rough call sequence goes like: sock_close -> __sock_release -> inet_release -> ip_mc_drop_socket -> inetdev_by_index -> ip_mc_leave_src -> ip_mc_del_src -> ip_mc_del1_src So we still need to call ip_mc_clear_src() in ip_mc_destroy_dev() to free in_dev->mc_list->sources.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Restructure trace_clock_global() to never block It was reported that a fix to the ring buffer recursion detection would cause a hung machine when performing suspend / resume testing. Restructure the trace_clock_global() code to instead of simply taking a lock to update the recorded "prev_time" simply use it, as two events happening on two different CPUs that calls this at the same time, really doesn't matter which one goes first. Use a trylock to grab the lock for updating the prev_time, and if it fails, simply try again the next time. If it failed to be taken, that means something else is already updating it. A weakness has been identified in snowflakedb snowflake-jdbc up to 4.0.1. Impacted is the function SdkProxyRoutePlanner of the file src/main/java/net/snowflake/client/internal/core/SdkProxyRoutePlanner.java of the component JDBC URL Handler. Executing a manipulation of the argument nonProxyHosts can lead to inefficient regular expression complexity. The attack can only be executed locally. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be used for attacks. This patch is called 5fb0a8a318a2ed87f4022a1f56e742424ba94052. A patch should be applied to remediate this issue.

Affected is the function Q3DImporter::InternReadFile of the file assimp/code/AssetLib/Q3D/Q3DLoader.cpp. This manipulation causes allocation of resources. The attack is restricted to local execution. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized.
An exploitable denial of service exists in the the Joyent SmartOS OS 20161110T013148Z Hyprlofs file system. The vulnerability is present in the Ioctl system call with the command HYPRLOFSADDENTRIES when used with a 32 bit model. An attacker can cause a buffer to be allocated and never freed. When repeatedly exploit this will result in memory exhaustion, resulting in a full system denial of service.
