AVideo < 20.1 Unauthenticated RCE via Predictable Installation Salt

AVideo versions 14.3.1 prior to 20.1 contain an unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability caused by predictable generation of an installation salt using PHP uniqid(). The installation timestamp is exposed via a public endpoint, and a derived hash identifier is accessible through unauthenticated API responses, allowing attackers to brute-force the remaining entropy. The recovered salt can then be used to encrypt a malicious payload supplied to a notification API endpoint that evaluates attacker-controlled input, resulting in arbitrary code execution as the web server user.

WWBN AVideo: Authenticated Remote Code Execution via Unsafe Plugin ZIP Extraction

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. Prior to version 24.0, an authenticated Remote Code Execution (RCE) vulnerability was identified in AVideo related to the plugin upload/import functionality. The issue allowed an authenticated administrator to upload a specially crafted ZIP archive containing executable server-side files. Due to insufficient validation of extracted file contents, the archive was extracted directly into a web-accessible plugin directory, allowing arbitrary PHP code execution. This issue has been patched in version 24.0.

WWBN AVideo plugin/LoginControl/set.json.php: 2FA toggle endpoint has no CSRF protection, letting an attacker page silently disable a logged-in victim's 2FA

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In 29.0 and earlier, there is a cross-site request forgery vulnerability on the 2FA toggle. plugin/LoginControl/set.json.php accepts POST type=set2FA value=false, calls LoginControl::setUser2FA(User::getId(), false) on the session-authenticated user, and returns. There is no forbidIfIsUntrustedRequest() call, no isTokenValid() check, no X-CSRF-Token/SameSite enforcement, and no re-authentication step. A cross-origin page that the victim visits while logged into the AVideo dashboard issues the POST via a hidden form (or fetch without credentials:"omit") and disables the victim's 2FA in one request.

WWBN AVideo has Unauthenticated FFmpeg Remote Server Status Disclosure via check.ffmpeg.json.php

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 26.0 and prior, the plugin/API/check.ffmpeg.json.php endpoint probes the FFmpeg remote server configuration and returns connectivity status without any authentication. All sibling FFmpeg management endpoints (kill.ffmpeg.json.php, list.ffmpeg.json.php, ffmpeg.php) require User::isAdmin().

AVideo: Missing Authentication in CreatePlugin list.json.php Template Affects 21 Endpoints

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 26.0 and prior, the AVideo CreatePlugin template for list.json.php does not include any authentication or authorization check. While the companion templates add.json.php and delete.json.php both require admin privileges, the list.json.php template was shipped without this guard. Every plugin that uses the CreatePlugin code generator inherits this omission, resulting in 21 unauthenticated data listing endpoints across the platform. These endpoints expose sensitive data including user PII, payment transaction logs, IP addresses, user agents, and internal system records. At time of publication, there are no publicly available patches.

AVideo affected by unauthenticated application takeover via exposed web installer on uninitialized deployments

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. Versions 25.0 and below are vulnerable to unauthenticated application takeover through the install/checkConfiguration.php endpoint. install/checkConfiguration.php performs full application initialization: database setup, admin account creation, and configuration file write, all from an unauthenticated POST input. The only guard is checking whether videos/configuration.php already exists. On uninitialized deployments, any remote attacker can complete the installation with attacker-controlled credentials and an attacker-controlled database, gaining full administrative access. This issue has been fixed in version 26.0.

AVideo: Unauthenticated Live Stream Termination via RTMP Callback on_publish_done.php

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 26.0 and prior, the AVideo on_publish_done.php endpoint in the Live plugin allows unauthenticated users to terminate any active live stream. The endpoint processes RTMP callback events to mark streams as finished in the database, but performs no authentication or authorization checks before doing so. An attacker can enumerate active stream keys from the unauthenticated stats.json.php endpoint, then send crafted POST requests to on_publish_done.php to terminate any live broadcast. This enables denial-of-service against all live streaming functionality on the platform. At time of publication, there are no publicly available patches.

AVideo Vulnerable to Unauthenticated CDN Configuration Takeover via Empty Default Key Bypass and Mass-Assignment in status.json.php

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions up to and including 26.0, the CDN plugin endpoints `plugin/CDN/status.json.php` and `plugin/CDN/disable.json.php` use key-based authentication with an empty string default key. When the CDN plugin is enabled but the key has not been configured (the default state), the key validation check is completely bypassed, allowing any unauthenticated attacker to modify the full CDN configuration — including CDN URLs, storage credentials, and the authentication key itself — via mass-assignment through the `par` request parameter. Commit adeff0a31ba04a56f411eef256139fd7ed7d4310 contains a patch.

Better Auth: Unauthenticated API key creation through api-key plugin

Better Auth is an authentication and authorization library for TypeScript. In versions prior to 1.3.26, unauthenticated attackers can create or modify API keys for any user by passing that user's id in the request body to the `api/auth/api-key/create` route. `session?.user ?? (authRequired ? null : { id: ctx.body.userId })`. When no session exists but `userId` is present in the request body, `authRequired` becomes false and the user object is set to the attacker-controlled ID. Server-only field validation only executes when `authRequired` is true (lines 280-295), allowing attackers to set privileged fields. No additional authentication occurs before the database operation, so the malicious payload is accepted. The same pattern exists in the update endpoint. This is a critical authentication bypass enabling full an unauthenticated attacker can generate an API key for any user and immediately gain complete authenticated access. This allows the attacker to perform any action as the victim user using the api key, potentially compromise the user data and the application depending on the victim's privileges. Version 1.3.26 contains a patch for the issue.

Xdebug Remote Debugger Unauthenticated OS Command Execution

An unauthenticated OS command injection vulnerability exists within Xdebug versions 2.5.5 and earlier, a PHP debugging extension developed by Derick Rethans. When remote debugging is enabled, Xdebug listens on port 9000 and accepts debugger protocol commands without authentication. An attacker can send a crafted eval command over this interface to execute arbitrary PHP code, which may invoke system-level functions such as system() or passthru(). This results in full compromise of the host under the privileges of the web server user.

Unauthenticated SOAP API in dormakaba access manager

The exos 9300 application can be used to configure Access Managers (e.g. 92xx, 9230 and 9290). The configuration is done in a graphical user interface on the dormakaba exos server. As soon as the save button is clicked in exos 9300, the whole configuration is sent to the selected Access Manager via SOAP. The SOAP request is sent without any prior authentication or authorization by default. Though authentication and authorization can be configured using IPsec for 92xx-K5 devices and mTLS for 92xx-K7 devices, it is not enabled by default and must therefore be activated with additional steps. This insecure default allows an attacker with network level access to completely control the whole environment. An attacker is for example easily able to conduct the following tasks without prior authentication: - Re-configure Access Managers (e.g. remove alarming system requirements) - Freely re-configure the inputs and outputs - Open all connected doors permanently - Open all doors for a defined time interval - Change the admin password - and many more Network level access can be gained due to an insufficient network segmentation as well as missing LAN firewalls. Devices with an insecure configuration have been identified to be directly exposed to the internet.

Dragonfly did not enable authentication for some Manager’s endpoints

Dragonfly is an open source P2P-based file distribution and image acceleration system. Prior to 2.1.0, The /api/v1/jobs and /preheats endpoints in Manager web UI are accessible without authentication. Any user with network access to the Manager can create, delete, and modify jobs, and create preheat jobs. An unauthenticated adversary with network access to a Manager web UI uses /api/v1/jobs endpoint to create hundreds of useless jobs. The Manager is in a denial-of-service state, and stops accepting requests from valid administrators. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.1.0.

As a result, an unauthenticated network client can open `StreamExtSnapshot` and send Badger stream data to the target group’s store. In addition, the receiver calls `Prepare()` before processing the stream. This operation deletes and replaces the existing DB data. Version 25.3.5 patches the issue.

Migration-planner: unprotected delete endpoint wipes all tenant data

A flaw was found in migration-planner. An authenticated user can exploit this vulnerability by sending a DELETE request to the /api/v1/sources route, which lacks proper authorization and filtering. This allows for the destruction of all customer data, including sources, agents, and assessments, leading to a critical loss of availability and integrity across the entire SaaS platform.

OpenClaude: Sandbox Bypass via Model-Controlled `dangerouslyDisableSandbox` Input

OpenClaude is an open-source coding-agent command line interface for cloud and local model providers. Prior to version 0.5.1, the dangerouslyDisableSandbox parameter is exposed as part of the BashTool input schema, meaning the LLM (an untrusted principal per the project's own threat model) can set it to true in any tool_use response. Combined with the default allowUnsandboxedCommands: true setting, a prompt-injected model can escape the sandbox for any arbitrary command, achieving full host-level code execution. This issue has been patched in version 0.5.1.

marimo Affected by Pre-Auth Remote Code Execution via Terminal WebSocket Authentication Bypass

marimo is a reactive Python notebook. Prior to 0.23.0, Marimo has a Pre-Auth RCE vulnerability. The terminal WebSocket endpoint /terminal/ws lacks authentication validation, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to obtain a full PTY shell and execute arbitrary system commands. Unlike other WebSocket endpoints (e.g., /ws) that correctly call validate_auth() for authentication, the /terminal/ws endpoint only checks the running mode and platform support before accepting connections, completely skipping authentication verification. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.23.0.

FOSSBilling: Authentication bypass allows unauthenticated administrator creation

FOSSBilling is a free, open-source billing and client management system. Versions 0.7.2 and prior expose a guest API endpoint, /api/guest/staff/create, intended for initial administrator bootstrap. Due to a flawed admin-existence check, the endpoint remains usable after an administrator already exists. The flawed guard check uses is_countable() on a value that returns a Model_Admin object or null rather than a countable type, causing the expression to always evaluate as true and bypass the intended protection. As a result, an attacker can reach the unprotected endpoint to create a new administrator account and immediately authenticate, gaining a fully privileged admin session even when an admin already exists. This issue has been fixed in version 0.8.0.
