pyasn1 is a generic ASN.1 library for Python. Prior to 0.6.4, the BER, CER, and DER decoders process OBJECT IDENTIFIER and RELATIVE-OID values in quadratic time relative to the number of arcs, so a small crafted payload containing an OID with many arcs consumes excessive CPU per decode() call and can deny service to applications that decode untrusted ASN.1 data. The corresponding encoders have the same quadratic behavior when an application re-encodes previously decoded attacker-supplied values. This issue is fixed in version 0.6.4.
Denial of Service attack in airMAX < 8.3.2 , airMAX < 6.0.7 and EdgeMAX < 1.9.7 allow attackers to use the Discovery Protocol in amplification attacks.

Versions of the package asyncua before 0.9.96 are vulnerable to Denial of Service (DoS) such that an attacker can send a malformed packet and as a result, the server will enter into an infinite loop and consume excessive memory.
Dell Enterprise SONiC OS, 3.5.3, 4.0.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, contains an "Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability" in authentication component. An unauthenticated remote attacker could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to uncontrolled resource consumption by creating permanent home directories for unauthenticated users.
Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in Apache Traffic Server. This issue affects Apache Traffic Server: from 9.0.0 through 9.1.13, from 10.0.0 through 10.1.2. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 9.1.14 or 10.1.3, which fixes the issue.
On affected platforms running Arista CloudEOS an issue in the Software Forwarding Engine (Sfe) can lead to a potential denial of service attack by sending malformed packets to the switch. This causes a leak of packet buffers and if enough malformed packets are received, the switch may eventually stop forwarding traffic.

IBM WebSphere Application Server 7.0, 8.0, 8.5, and 9.0 is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by improper handling of request headers. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause the consumption of Memory. IBM X-Force ID: 156242.
Abacus is a highly scalable and stateless counting API. A critical goroutine leak vulnerability has been identified in the Abacus server's Server-Sent Events (SSE) implementation. The issue occurs when clients disconnect from the /stream endpoint, as the server fails to properly clean up resources and terminate associated goroutines. This leads to resource exhaustion where the server continues running but eventually stops accepting new SSE connections while maintaining high memory usage. The vulnerability specifically involves improper channel cleanup in the event handling mechanism, causing goroutines to remain blocked indefinitely. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.4.0.
PrivX before 34.0 allows data exfiltration and denial of service via the REST API. This is fixed in minor versions 33.1, 32.3, 31.3, and later, and in major version 34.0 and later,
cmark-gfm is GitHub's fork of cmark, a CommonMark parsing and rendering library and program in C. A polynomial time complexity issue in cmark-gfm may lead to unbounded resource exhaustion and subsequent denial of service. This CVE covers quadratic complexity issues when parsing text which leads with either large numbers of `>` or `-` characters. This issue has been addressed in version 0.29.0.gfm.10. Users are advised to upgrade. Users unable to upgrade should validate that their input comes from trusted sources.
Uncontrolled resource consumption in Windows DHCP Server allows an unauthorized attacker to deny service over a network.
.NET and Visual Studio Denial of Service Vulnerability
A logic issue was addressed with improved file handling. This issue is fixed in visionOS 1.2. Processing web content may lead to a denial-of-service.
In PHP 8.3.* before 8.3.5, function mb_encode_mimeheader() runs endlessly for some inputs that contain long strings of non-space characters followed by a space. This could lead to a potential DoS attack if a hostile user sends data to an application that uses this function.
Langflow is a tool for building and deploying AI-powered agents and workflows. Prior to 1.0.19, an attacker can send a /api/v1/files/upload/ request without any authentication token/cookies and abuse a very long multipart form boundary to make the langflow app unusable for all users for an indefinite amount of time. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.0.19.
This issue was addressed through improved state management. This issue is fixed in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. A remote attacker may be able to cause a denial-of-service.
HTTP and MIME header parsing can allocate large amounts of memory, even when parsing small inputs, potentially leading to a denial of service. Certain unusual patterns of input data can cause the common function used to parse HTTP and MIME headers to allocate substantially more memory than required to hold the parsed headers. An attacker can exploit this behavior to cause an HTTP server to allocate large amounts of memory from a small request, potentially leading to memory exhaustion and a denial of service. With fix, header parsing now correctly allocates only the memory required to hold parsed headers.
Mikrotik RouterOS (x86) 6.40.5 through 6.49.10 (fixed in 7) allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service (device crash) via crafted packet data to the SMB service on TCP port 445.
tls-listener is a rust lang wrapper around a connection listener to support TLS. With the default configuration of tls-listener, a malicious user can open 6.4 `TcpStream`s a second, sending 0 bytes, and can trigger a DoS. The default configuration options make any public service using `TlsListener::new()` vulnerable to a slow-loris DoS attack. This impacts any publicly accessible service using the default configuration of tls-listener in versions prior to 0.10.0. Users are advised to upgrade. Users unable to upgrade may mitigate this by passing a large value, such as `usize::MAX` as the parameter to `Builder::max_handshakes`.
Cap-go capgo (capgo-backend) before 12.128.12 contains an unauthenticated denial-of-service vulnerability arising from the audit_logs table's Row-Level Security (RLS) policy when accessed via the Supabase PostgREST API. Because the PostgreSQL query planner executes costly logic before RLS rejection, unfiltered queries to the public.audit_logs endpoint using the public anon key consistently trigger statement timeouts (PostgREST error 57014). Under concurrency, this exhausts database resources and causes cascading HTTP 500 failures on unrelated endpoints (e.g. /orgs), resulting in an application-layer denial of service.
JavaScript::Minifier::XS versions before 0.16 for Perl leak memory on every call to minify(), allowing unbounded memory growth. In JsMinify (XS.xs) the cleanup frees only the NodeSet structures and never the per-token contents buffers allocated in JsSetNodeContents; JsDiscardNode unlinks nodes without freeing their contents. Each token's contents buffer is therefore leaked on every call, and the two early returns taken when the node list is empty leak the whole NodeSet. A long-lived process that minifies repeatedly, such as an asset pipeline or a server-side minifier endpoint, grows in memory without bound until it exhausts available memory and is killed, causing denial of service.
JLine is a Java library for handling console input. Prior to 3.30.14, 4.0.16, and 4.2.1, the JLine3 Telnet server remote-telnet module does not apply an upper bound to terminal dimensions received via the Telnet NAWS option, and TelnetIO.handleNAWS() in TelnetIO.java:856-879 reads client-supplied width and height as 16-bit unsigned integers and passes values such as 65535x65535 to setTerminalGeometry(), allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker to repeatedly alternate values and trigger continuous expensive rendering work that causes CPU exhaustion and denial of service. This issue is fixed in versions 3.30.14, 4.0.16, and 4.2.1.
Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. Prior to 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final, Netty SPDY header decoding continues inflating zlib-compressed header blocks after the raw header parser has exceeded `maxHeaderSize` and marked the frame truncated in `SpdyFrameCodec`, allowing a remote peer to send a small compressed `HEADERS` block that expands into much larger raw header data and causes compression-amplified CPU and allocation churn. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final.
Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. Prior to 4.2.16.Final, Netty's `Http3FrameCodec` buffers incoming data for HTTP/3 reserved frame types up to the wire-specified payload length without limits; `decodeFrame` trusts `payLoadLength`, allowing an attacker to open multiple QUIC streams and send reserved frames with very large payload lengths to cause memory exhaustion and denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.16.Final.
Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. In versions 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.15.Final and 4.1.0.Final through 4.1.135.Final, a remote unauthenticated peer can leak one direct `ByteBuf` per HTTP/2 `DATA` frame in applications that enable HTTP/2 content decompression via `DelegatingDecompressorFrameListener`. When a `DATA` frame is processed for a stream whose decompressor has already been closed, `Http2Decompressor.decompress(...)` calls `decompressor.writeInbound(data.retain())` and does not release the retained buffer on the error path, eventually exhausting direct memory and crashing the JVM. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final.
There is a possible denial of service vulnerability in Action View (Rails) <5.2.2.1, <5.1.6.2, <5.0.7.2, <4.2.11.1 where specially crafted accept headers can cause action view to consume 100% cpu and make the server unresponsive.
vLLM versions 0.8.0 and later are vulnerable to an Out-of-Memory (OOM) Denial of Service (DoS) attack due to unbounded frame count processing in the `VideoMediaIO.load_base64()` method. When processing `video/jpeg` data URLs, the method splits the base64 data string on commas to extract individual JPEG frames without enforcing a frame count limit. An attacker can exploit this by crafting a single API request containing thousands of comma-separated base64-encoded JPEG frames in a data URL, causing the server to decode all frames into memory and crash due to excessive memory consumption. This vulnerability is reachable via the OpenAI-compatible chat completions API and does not require authentication.
Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in the HTTP/1.1 message parser in Apache HttpComponents Core (5.4.2 and earlier, 5.5-beta1 and earlier) allows an remote attacker to cause a denial of service through memory exhaustion by sending messages with excessive number of headers / excessive header length
An issue was discovered in phpseclib 1.x before 1.0.23, 2.x before 2.0.47, and 3.x before 3.0.36. When processing the ASN.1 object identifier of a certificate, a sub identifier may be provided that leads to a denial of service (CPU consumption for decodeOID).
Net::BitTorrent versions through 2.1.0 for Perl allow remote memory exhaustion via an uncapped peer-wire message-length prefix. The peer-wire framing in _process_messages trusts the 4-byte length prefix sent by a connected peer with no upper bound, while receive_data appends every inbound byte to the input buffer. A peer announces a length prefix of up to about 4 GiB and then streams bytes; the decoder waits until the buffer holds the full message before processing it, so the buffer grows without limit. Peer connections are unauthenticated, so any peer in the swarm exhausts the downloading process's memory. The largest legitimate message is a 16 KiB piece block, so any announced length far above that is anomalous.
Switcher Client is a JavaScript SDK to work with Switcher API which is cloud-based Feature Flag. Unsanitized input flows into Strategy match operation (EXIST), where it is used to build a regular expression. This may result in a Regular expression Denial of Service attack (reDOS). This issue has been patched in version 3.1.4. As a workaround, avoid using Strategy settings that use REGEX in conjunction with EXIST and NOT_EXIST operations.
Insufficient file size checks resulted in a denial of service risk in the file picker's unzip functionality.
A denial of service flaw was found in OpenSSL 0.9.8, 1.0.1, 1.0.2 through 1.0.2h, and 1.1.0 in the way the TLS/SSL protocol defined processing of ALERT packets during a connection handshake. A remote attacker could use this flaw to make a TLS/SSL server consume an excessive amount of CPU and fail to accept connections from other clients.
An issue was discovered in Moxa NPort 5110 versions prior to 2.6, NPort 5130/5150 Series versions prior to 3.6, NPort 5200 Series versions prior to 2.8, NPort 5400 Series versions prior to 3.11, NPort 5600 Series versions prior to 3.7, NPort 5100A Series & NPort P5150A versions prior to 1.3, NPort 5200A Series versions prior to 1.3, NPort 5150AI-M12 Series versions prior to 1.2, NPort 5250AI-M12 Series versions prior to 1.2, NPort 5450AI-M12 Series versions prior to 1.2, NPort 5600-8-DT Series versions prior to 2.4, NPort 5600-8-DTL Series versions prior to 2.4, NPort 6x50 Series versions prior to 1.13.11, NPort IA5450A versions prior to v1.4. The amount of resources requested by a malicious actor is not restricted, leading to a denial-of-service caused by resource exhaustion.
In Srelay (the SOCKS proxy and Relay) v.0.4.8p3, a specially crafted network payload can trigger a denial of service condition and disrupt the service.
Dell PowerScale nodes A200, A2000, H400, H500, H600, H5600, F800, F810 integrated hardware management software contains an uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability. This may allow an unauthenticated network host to impair built-in hardware management functionality and trigger OneFS data protection mechanism causing a denial of service.
Denial of service
IBM Cognos Analytics 11.0, and 11.1 is vulnerable to a denial of service attack that could allow a remote user to send specially crafted requests that would consume all available CPU and memory resources. IBM X-Force ID: 158973.
The kex_input_kexinit function in kex.c in OpenSSH 6.x and 7.x through 7.3 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) by sending many duplicate KEXINIT requests. NOTE: a third party reports that "OpenSSH upstream does not consider this as a security issue."
A regular expression based DoS vulnerability in Active Support <6.1.7.1 and <7.0.4.1. A specially crafted string passed to the underscore method can cause the regular expression engine to enter a state of catastrophic backtracking. This can cause the process to use large amounts of CPU and memory, leading to a possible DoS vulnerability.
An issue was discovered in Schneider Electric Magelis HMI Magelis GTO Advanced Optimum Panels, all versions, Magelis GTU Universal Panel, all versions, Magelis STO5xx and STU Small panels, all versions, Magelis XBT GH Advanced Hand-held Panels, all versions, Magelis XBT GK Advanced Touchscreen Panels with Keyboard, all versions, Magelis XBT GT Advanced Touchscreen Panels, all versions, and Magelis XBT GTW Advanced Open Touchscreen Panels (Windows XPe). An attacker may be able to disrupt a targeted web server, resulting in a denial of service because of UNCONTROLLED RESOURCE CONSUMPTION.
DHCP Server Service Denial of Service Vulnerability
Squid is an open source caching proxy for the Web supporting HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, and more. Due to a Collapse of Data into Unsafe Value bug ,Squid may be vulnerable to a Denial of Service attack against HTTP header parsing. This problem allows a remote client or a remote server to perform Denial of Service when sending oversized headers in HTTP messages. In versions of Squid prior to 6.5 this can be achieved if the request_header_max_size or reply_header_max_size settings are unchanged from the default. In Squid version 6.5 and later, the default setting of these parameters is safe. Squid will emit a critical warning in cache.log if the administrator is setting these parameters to unsafe values. Squid will not at this time prevent these settings from being changed to unsafe values. Users are advised to upgrade to version 6.5. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability. This issue is also tracked as SQUID-2024:2
Liferay Portal 7.4.0 through 7.4.3.97, and Liferay DXP 2023.Q3.1 through 2023.Q3.2, 7.4 GA through update 92, 7.3 GA through update 35, and 7.2 fix pack 8 through fix pack 20 does not limit the depth of a GraphQL queries, which allows remote attackers to perform denial-of-service (DoS) attacks on the application by executing complex queries.
