xrdp is an open source RDP server. Versions 0.10.6 and prior contain a timing side-channel vulnerability in the login interface. Due to a discrepancy in response processing times, a remote attacker can infer the existence of a username on the system, leading to unauthorized information disclosure via username enumeration. This issue has been fixed in version 0.10.6.1.
xrdp is an open source RDP server. Versions 0.10.6 and prior contain a vulnerability concerning the processing of Client Control PDUs. During the RDP connection sequence, the parser does not perform sufficient length validation before reading specific data fields from the network stream. A remote, unauthenticated attacker could potentially exploit this flaw by sending a specially crafted, truncated Client Control PDU. Due to missing bounds checks, the xrdp process may perform out-of-bounds memory reads, which can result in the termination of the service (Denial of Service). However, since xrdp forks a new process for each connection by default, an out-of-bounds read causing a process crash is unlikely to bring down the entire xrdp service. This issue has been fixed in version 0.10.6.1.
xrdp is an open source RDP server. Versions through 0.10.5 have an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the pre-authentication RDP message parsing logic. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can trigger this flaw by sending a specially crafted sequence of packets during the initial connection phase. This vulnerability results from insufficient validation of input buffer lengths before processing dynamic channel communication. Successful exploitation can lead to a denial-of-service (DoS) condition via a process crash or potential disclosure of sensitive information from the service's memory space. This issue has been fixed in version 0.10.6.
xrdp is an open source RDP server. Versions through 0.10.5 contain an out-of-bounds read vulnerability during the RDP capability exchange phase. The issue occurs when memory is accessed before validating the remaining buffer length. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can trigger this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted Confirm Active PDU. Successful exploitation could lead to a denial of service (process crash) or potential disclosure of sensitive information from the process memory. This issue has been fixed in version 0.10.6.
xrdp is an open source remote desktop protocol server. Access to the font glyphs in xrdp_painter.c is not bounds-checked . Since some of this data is controllable by the user, this can result in an out-of-bounds read within the xrdp executable. The vulnerability allows an out-of-bounds read within a potentially privileged process. On non-Debian platforms, xrdp tends to run as root. Potentially an out-of-bounds write can follow the out-of-bounds read. There is no denial-of-service impact, providing xrdp is running in forking mode. This issue has been addressed in release 0.9.23.1. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
xrdp is an open source project which provides a graphical login to remote machines using Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). xrdp < v0.9.21 contain a Out of Bound Read in xrdp_mm_trans_process_drdynvc_channel_close() function. xrdp is an open source project which provides a graphical login to remote machines using Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). xrdp < v0.9.21 contain a Out of Bound Read in xrdp_sec_process_mcs_data_CS_CORE() function. There are no known workarounds for this issue. Users are advised to upgrade.
There is an Out-of-bounds read vulnerability in Smartphone.Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may affect service confidentiality.
An exploitable information disclosure vulnerability exists in the Weave Legacy Pairing functionality of Nest Cam IQ Indoor version 4620002. A set of specially crafted weave packets can cause an out of bounds read, resulting in information disclosure. An attacker can send packets to trigger this vulnerability.
An exploitable information disclosure vulnerability exists in the packet-parsing functionality of Blynk-Library v0.6.1. A specially crafted packet can cause an unterminated strncpy, resulting in information disclosure. An attacker can send a packet to trigger this vulnerability.
In multiple locations, there is a possible out of bounds read due to a missing bounds check. This could lead to paired device information disclosure with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
The issue was addressed with improved routing of Safari-originated requests. This issue is fixed in Safari 18.2, iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2, iPadOS 17.7.3, macOS Sequoia 15.2. On a device with Private Relay enabled, adding a website to the Safari Reading List may reveal the originating IP address to the website.
cmark-gfm is GitHub's fork of cmark, a CommonMark parsing and rendering library and program in C. In versions prior 0.29.0.gfm.7, a crafted markdown document can trigger an out-of-bounds read in the `validate_protocol` function. We believe this bug is harmless in practice, because the out-of-bounds read accesses `malloc` metadata without causing any visible damage. This vulnerability has been patched in 0.29.0.gfm.7.
An issue was discovered on Samsung mobile devices with N(7.x), O(8.x), and P(9.0) (Broadcom chipsets) software. An out-of-bounds Read in the Wi-Fi vendor command leads to an information leak. The Samsung ID is SVE-2019-14869 (November 2019).
Contiki-NG is an operating system for internet-of-things devices. In versions 4.9 and prior, when processing the various IPv6 header fields during IPHC header decompression, Contiki-NG confirms the received packet buffer contains enough data as needed for that field. But no similar check is done before decompressing the IPv6 address. Therefore, up to 16 bytes can be read out of bounds on the line with the statement `memcpy(&ipaddr->u8[16 - postcount], iphc_ptr, postcount);`. The value of `postcount` depends on the address compression used in the received packet and can be controlled by the attacker. As a result, an attacker can inject a packet that causes an out-of-bound read. As of time of publication, a patched version is not available. As a workaround, one can apply the changes in Contiki-NG pull request #2509 to patch the system.
Contiki-NG is an operating system for internet-of-things devices. In versions 4.9 and prior, when a packet is received, the Contiki-NG network stack attempts to start the periodic TCP timer if it is a TCP packet with the SYN flag set. But the implementation does not first verify that a full TCP header has been received. Specifically, the implementation attempts to access the flags field from the TCP buffer in the following conditional expression in the `check_for_tcp_syn` function. For this reason, an attacker can inject a truncated TCP packet, which will lead to an out-of-bound read from the packet buffer. As of time of publication, a patched version is not available. As a workaround, one can apply the changes in Contiki-NG pull request #2510 to patch the system.
Squid through 4.14 and 5.x through 5.0.5, in some configurations, allows information disclosure because of an out-of-bounds read in WCCP protocol data. This can be leveraged as part of a chain for remote code execution as nobody.

Node.js before 16.4.1, 14.17.2, 12.22.2 is vulnerable to an out-of-bounds read when uv__idna_toascii() is used to convert strings to ASCII. The pointer p is read and increased without checking whether it is beyond pe, with the latter holding a pointer to the end of the buffer. This can lead to information disclosures or crashes. This function can be triggered via uv_getaddrinfo().

Vyper is a pythonic Smart Contract Language for the ethereum virtual machine. When using the built-in `extract32(b, start)`, if the `start` index provided has for side effect to update `b`, the byte array to extract `32` bytes from, it could be that some dirty memory is read and returned by `extract32`. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.4.0.

Electron is a framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Prior to versions 38.8.6, 39.8.1, 40.8.1, and 41.0.0, on macOS and Linux, apps that call app.requestSingleInstanceLock() were vulnerable to an out-of-bounds heap read when parsing a crafted second-instance message. Leaked memory could be delivered to the app's second-instance event handler. This issue is limited to processes running as the same user as the Electron app. Apps that do not call app.requestSingleInstanceLock() are not affected. Windows is not affected by this issue. This issue has been patched in versions 38.8.6, 39.8.1, 40.8.1, and 41.0.0.
Oj (Optimized JSON) is a JSON parser and Object marshaller packaged as a Ruby gem. In versions prior to 3.17.3, Oj.load in :object mode reads uninitialized stack memory (and, for long keys, reads out of bounds) when parsing a JSON object whose key is 254 bytes or longer. The interned bytes can surface to the caller, disclosing process stack memory. In ext/oj/intern.c, form_attr() handles the long-key path by allocating a heap buffer, `b`, populating it with the attribute name, and then freeing it — but it passed the uninitialized stack buffer buf (not b) to rb_intern3(). rb_intern3 therefore reads len + 1 bytes of uninitialized stack memory. When the key length is >= 256, it also reads out of bounds past the 256-byte buf. The resulting bytes are interned and can reach the caller via the produced Symbol or via the EncodingError message raised on invalid UTF-8, leaking process stack contents. This issue has been fixed in version 3.17.3.
In PHP versions 7.2.x below 7.2.26, 7.3.x below 7.3.13 and 7.4.0, PHP bcmath extension functions on some systems, including Windows, can be tricked into reading beyond the allocated space by supplying it with string containing characters that are identified as numeric by the OS but aren't ASCII numbers. This can read to disclosure of the content of some memory locations.
Out-of-bounds read issue in M-Files Server versions below 23.8.12892.6 and LTS Service Release Versions before 23.2 LTS SR3 allows unauthenticated user to read restricted amount of bytes from memory.
ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to versions 7.1.2-15 and 6.9.13-40, a heap buffer over-read vulnerability exists in the MAP image decoder when processing crafted MAP files, potentially leading to crashes or unintended memory disclosure during image decoding. Versions 7.1.2-15 and 6.9.13-40 contain a patch.
dhcp.c in dhcpcd before 7.2.1 contains a 1-byte read overflow with DHO_OPTSOVERLOADED.
A heap-based out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the DNSSEC validation of dnsmasq allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted DNS packet.
An out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists in dnsmasq's find_soa() function in src/rfc1035.c. When parsing NS section records, extract_name() is called with extrabytes=0, failing to validate that 10 additional bytes exist for fixed-length DNS record fields. A remote attacker controlling a DNS zone can exploit this via a crafted NXDOMAIN response to cause a 10-byte heap out-of-bounds read, potentially accessing stale data from prior transactions.
An issue was discovered in p11-kit 0.21.1 through 0.23.21. A heap-based buffer over-read has been discovered in the RPC protocol used by thep11-kit server/remote commands and the client library. When the remote entity supplies a byte array through a serialized PKCS#11 function call, the receiving entity may allow the reading of up to 4 bytes of memory past the heap allocation.
An issue was discovered in Treck IPv6 before 6.0.1.68. Improper input validation in the IPv6 component when handling a packet sent by an unauthenticated remote attacker could result in an out-of-bounds read of up to three bytes via network access.
ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to versions 6.9.13-47 and 7.1.2-22, an off by one in the meta encoder could result in an out of bounds read of a single byte in the meta encoder. This issue has been patched in versions 6.9.13-47 and 7.1.2-22.

Firepad through 1.5.11 allows remote attackers, who have knowledge of a pad ID, to retrieve both the current text of a document and all content that has previously been pasted into the document. NOTE: in several similar products, this is the intentional behavior for anyone who knows the full document ID and corresponding URL. NOTE: This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer.
Out-of-bounds read in the TIFF image codec in QNX SDP versions 8.0, 7.1 and 7.0 could allow an unauthenticated attacker to cause an information disclosure in the context of the process using the image codec.
