fs2 is a compositional, streaming I/O library for Scala. When establishing a server-mode `TLSSocket` using `fs2-io` on Node.js, the parameter `requestCert = true` is ignored, peer certificate verification is skipped, and the connection proceeds. The vulnerability is limited to: 1. `fs2-io` running on Node.js. The JVM TLS implementation is completely independent. 2. `TLSSocket`s in server-mode. Client-mode `TLSSocket`s are implemented via a different API. 3. mTLS as enabled via `requestCert = true` in `TLSParameters`. The default setting is `false` for server-mode `TLSSocket`s. It was introduced with the initial Node.js implementation of fs2-io in 3.1.0. A patch is released in v3.2.11. The requestCert = true parameter is respected and the peer certificate is verified. If verification fails, a SSLException is raised. If using an unpatched version on Node.js, do not use a server-mode TLSSocket with requestCert = true to establish a mTLS connection.
An improper certificate validation vulnerability exists in ToDesktop Builder v0.32.1 This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated, on-path attacker to spoof backend responses by exploiting insufficient certificate validation.
OpenEMR is a free and open source electronic health records and medical practice management application. Prior to version 7.0.4, OpenEMR's HTTP client wrapper (`oeHttp`/`oeHttpRequest`) disables SSL/TLS certificate verification by default (`verify: false`), making all external HTTPS connections vulnerable to man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks. This affects communication with government healthcare APIs and user-configurable external services, potentially exposing Protected Health Information (PHI). Version 7.0.4 fixes the issue.
Xecurify's miniOrange Premium, Standard, and Enterprise Drupal SAML SP modules possess an authentication and authorization bypass vulnerability. An attacker with access to a HTTP-request intercepting method is able to bypass authentication and authorization by removing the SAML Assertion Signature - impersonating existing users and existing roles, including administrative users/roles. This vulnerability is not mitigated by configuring the module to enforce signatures or certificate checks. Xecurify recommends updating miniOrange modules to their most recent versions. This vulnerability is present in paid versions of the miniOrange Drupal SAML SP product affecting Drupal 7, 8, and 9.
Improper Certificate Validation in Samsung Email prior to version 6.1.82.0 allows remote attacker to intercept the network traffic including sensitive information.
CPAN.pm before 2.35 does not verify TLS certificates when downloading distributions over HTTPS.
Dell PowerScale OneFS, 8.2.x-9.3.x, contains a Improper Certificate Validation. A unauthenticated remote attacker could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to a man-in-the-middle capture of administrative credentials.
Spring Boot's Cassandra auto-configuration does not perform hostname verification when establishing an SSL connection to Cassandra. Affected: Spring Boot 4.0.0–4.0.5 (fix 4.0.6), 3.5.0–3.5.13 (fix 3.5.14), 3.4.0–3.4.15 (fix 3.4.16), 3.3.0–3.3.18 (fix 3.3.19), 2.7.0–2.7.32 (fix 2.7.33); Cassandra SSL auto-configuration. Versions that are no longer supported are also affected per vendor advisory.
Envoy is an open source edge and service proxy, designed for cloud-native applications. Envoy's tls allows re-use when some cert validation settings have changed from their default configuration. The only workaround for this issue is to ensure that default tls settings are used. Users are advised to upgrade.
A vulnerability has been identified in COMOS V10.6 (All versions < V10.6.1), COMOS V10.6 (All versions < V10.6.1), JT Bi-Directional Translator for STEP (All versions), NX V2412 (All versions < V2412.8900 with Cloud Entitlement (bundled as NX X)), NX V2506 (All versions < V2506.6000 with Cloud Entitlement (bundled as NX X)), Simcenter 3D (All versions < V2506.6000 with Cloud Entitlement (bundled as Simcenter X Mechanical)), Simcenter Femap (All versions < V2506.0002 with Cloud Entitlement (bundled as Simcenter X Mechanical)), Simcenter Studio (All versions < V2506.0001), Simcenter System Architect (All versions < V2506.0001), Tecnomatix Plant Simulation (All versions < V2504.0007). The SALT SDK is missing server certificate validation while establishing TLS connections to the authorization server. This could allow an attacker to perform a man-in-the-middle attack.
When connecting to Amazon Workspaces, the SHA256 presented by AWS connection provisioner is not fully verified by Zero Clients. The issue could be exploited by an adversary that places a MITM (Man in the Middle) between a zero client and AWS session provisioner in the network. This issue is only applicable when connecting to an Amazon Workspace from a PCoIP Zero Client.
The TLS protocol 1.2 and earlier supports the rsa_fixed_dh, dss_fixed_dh, rsa_fixed_ecdh, and ecdsa_fixed_ecdh values for ClientCertificateType but does not directly document the ability to compute the master secret in certain situations with a client secret key and server public key but not a server secret key, which makes it easier for man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof TLS servers by leveraging knowledge of the secret key for an arbitrary installed client X.509 certificate, aka the "Key Compromise Impersonation (KCI)" issue.
IBM MQ Operator LTS 2.0.0 through 2.0.29, MQ Operator CD 3.0.0, 3.0.1, 3.1.0 through 3.1.3, 3.3.0, 3.4.0, 3.4.1, 3.5.0, 3.5.1 through 3.5.3, and MQ Operator SC2 3.2.0 through 3.2.12 Native HA CRR could be configured with a private key and chain other than the intended key which could disclose sensitive information or allow the attacker to perform unauthorized actions.
CISA Thorium does not validate TLS certificates when connecting to Elasticsearch. An unauthenticated attacker with access to a Thorium cluster could impersonate the Elasticsearch service. Fixed in 1.1.2.
An issue was discovered on COROS PACE 3 devices through 3.0808.0. It implements a function to connect the watch to a WLAN. This function is mainly for downloading firmware files. Before downloading firmware files, the watch requests some information about the firmware via HTTPS from the back-end API. However, the X.509 server certificate within the TLS handshake is not validated by the device. This allows an attacker within an active machine-in-the-middle position, using a TLS proxy and a self-signed certificate, to eavesdrop and manipulate the HTTPS communication. This could be abused, for example, for stealing the API access token of the assigned user account.
An issue in MHSanaei 3x-ui before v.2.5.3 and before allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code via the management script x-ui passes the no check certificate option to wget when downloading updates
BYD QIN PLUS DM-i Dilink OS v3.0_13.1.7.2204050.1 to v3.0_13.1.7.2312290.1_0 was discovered to cend broadcasts to the manufacturer's cloud server unencrypted, allowing attackers to execute a man-in-the-middle attack.
An authentication bypass in Optoma 1080PSTX C02 allows an attacker to access the administration console without valid credentials.
A misconfiguration exists in the MQTTS functionality of Sealevel Systems, Inc. SeaConnect 370W v1.3.34. This misconfiguration significantly simplifies a man-in-the-middle attack, which directly leads to control of device functionality.
Microsoft Defender for IoT Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
Odyssey passes to server unencrypted bytes from man-in-the-middle When Odyssey is configured to use certificate Common Name for client authentication, a man-in-the-middle attacker can inject arbitrary SQL queries when a connection is first established, despite the use of SSL certificate verification and encryption. This is similar to CVE-2021-23214 for PostgreSQL.
The EU Technical Specifications for Digital COVID Certificates before 1.1 mishandle certificate governance. A non-production public key certificate could have been used in production.

IBM Security Verify Access Appliance 10.0.0 through 10.0.7 could allow a malicious actor to conduct a man in the middle attack when deploying Python scripts due to improper certificate validation. IBM X-Force ID: 287306.
A vulnerability has been identified in SICAM TOOLBOX II (All versions < V07.11). During establishment of a https connection to the TLS server of a managed device, the affected application doesn't check device's certificate common name against an expected value. This could allow an attacker to execute an on-path network (MitM) attack.
IBM Security Verify Access Appliance 10.0.0 through 10.0.7 could allow a malicious actor to conduct a man in the middle attack when deploying Open Source scripts due to missing certificate validation. IBM X-Force ID: 287316.
Improper Certificate Validation vulnerability in LibreOffice "LibreOfficeKit" mode disables TLS certification verification LibreOfficeKit can be used for accessing LibreOffice functionality through C/C++. Typically this is used by third party components to reuse LibreOffice as a library to convert, view or otherwise interact with documents. LibreOffice internally makes use of "curl" to fetch remote resources such as images hosted on webservers. In affected versions of LibreOffice, when used in LibreOfficeKit mode only, then curl's TLS certification verification was disabled (CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER of false) In the fixed versions curl operates in LibreOfficeKit mode the same as in standard mode with CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER of true. This issue affects LibreOffice before version 24.2.4.
A vulnerability has been identified in SICAM TOOLBOX II (All versions < V07.11). During establishment of a https connection to the TLS server of a managed device, the affected application doesn't check the extended key usage attribute of that device's certificate. This could allow an attacker to execute an on-path network (MitM) attack.
AAn improper certificate validation vulnerability [CWE-295] in FortiClientWindows 7.2.0 through 7.2.2, 7.0.0 through 7.0.11, FortiClientLinux 7.2.0, 7.0.0 through 7.0.11 and FortiClientMac 7.0.0 through 7.0.11, 7.2.0 through 7.2.4 may allow a remote and unauthenticated attacker to perform a Man-in-the-Middle attack on the communication channel between the FortiGate and the FortiClient during the ZTNA tunnel creation
The TLS certificate validation code is flawed. An attacker can obtain a TLS certificate from the Stork server and use it to connect to the Stork agent. Once this connection is established with the valid certificate, the attacker can send malicious commands to a monitored service (Kea or BIND 9), possibly resulting in confidential data loss and/or denial of service. It should be noted that this vulnerability is not related to BIND 9 or Kea directly, and only customers using the Stork management tool are potentially affected. This issue affects Stork versions 0.15.0 through 1.15.0.
Icinga is a monitoring system which checks the availability of network resources, notifies users of outages, and generates performance data for reporting. The TLS certificate validation in all Icinga 2 versions starting from 2.4.0 was flawed, allowing an attacker to impersonate both trusted cluster nodes as well as any API users that use TLS client certificates for authentication (ApiUser objects with the client_cn attribute set). This vulnerability has been fixed in v2.14.3, v2.13.10, v2.12.11, and v2.11.12.
A default installation of RustDesk 1.2.3 on Windows places a WDKTestCert certificate under Trusted Root Certification Authorities with Enhanced Key Usage of Code Signing (1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.3), valid from 2023 until 2033. This is potentially unwanted, e.g., because there is no public documentation of security measures for the private key, and arbitrary software could be signed if the private key were to be compromised. NOTE: the vendor's position is "we do not have EV cert, so we use test cert as a workaround." Insertion into Trusted Root Certification Authorities was the originally intended behavior, and the UI ensured that the certificate installation step (checked by default) was visible to the user before proceeding with the product installation.
An issue was discovered in Mbed TLS 3.x before 3.6.1. With TLS 1.3, when a server enables optional authentication of the client, if the client-provided certificate does not have appropriate values in if keyUsage or extKeyUsage extensions, then the return value of mbedtls_ssl_get_verify_result() would incorrectly have the MBEDTLS_X509_BADCERT_KEY_USAGE and MBEDTLS_X509_BADCERT_KEY_USAGE bits clear. As a result, an attacker that had a certificate valid for uses other than TLS client authentication would nonetheless be able to use it for TLS client authentication. Only TLS 1.3 servers were affected, and only with optional authentication (with required authentication, the handshake would be aborted with a fatal alert).
An issue was discovered on Alecto IVM-100 2019-11-12 devices. The device uses a custom UDP protocol to start and control video and audio services. The protocol has been partially reverse engineered. Based upon the reverse engineering, no password or username is ever transferred over this protocol. Thus, one can set up the camera connection feed with only the encoded UID. It is possible to set up sessions with the camera over the Internet by using the encoded UID and the custom UDP protocol, because authentication happens at the client side.
There is a vulnerability in the AP Certificate Management Service which could allow a threat actor to execute an unauthenticated RCE attack. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the underlying operating system leading to complete system compromise.
Enterprise Access Client Auto-Updater allows for Remote Code Execution prior to version 2.0.1.
In gnss service, there is a possible escalation of privilege due to improper certificate validation. This could lead to remote escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. Patch ID: ALPS08720039; Issue ID: MSV-1424.
European Commission eIDAS-Node Integration Package before 2.3.1 allows Certificate Faking because an attacker can sign a manipulated SAML response with a forged certificate.
Barco ClickShare Button R9861500D01 devices before 1.9.0 have Improper Following of a Certificate's Chain of Trust. The embedded 'dongle_bridge' program used to expose the functionalities of the ClickShare Button to a USB host, does not properly validate the whole certificate chain.

A vulnerability was found in keycloak 7.x, when keycloak is configured with LDAP user federation and StartTLS is used instead of SSL/TLS from the LDAP server (ldaps), in this case user authentication succeeds even if invalid password has entered.
Lack of TLS certificate verification in log transmission of a financial module within LINE client for iOS prior to 13.16.0.
Under certain configurations of --tlsCAFile and tls.CAFile, MongoDB Server may skip peer certificate validation which may result in untrusted connections to succeed. This may effectively reduce the security guarantees provided by TLS and open connections that should have been closed due to failing certificate validation. This issue affects MongoDB Server v7.0 versions prior to and including 7.0.5, MongoDB Server v6.0 versions prior to and including 6.0.13, MongoDB Server v5.0 versions prior to and including 5.0.24 and MongoDB Server v4.4 versions prior to and including 4.4.28. Required Configuration : A server process will allow incoming connections to skip peer certificate validation if the server process was started with TLS enabled (net.tls.mode set to allowTLS, preferTLS, or requireTLS) and without a net.tls.CAFile configured.
A vulnerability has been identified in SINEC INS (All versions < V1.0 SP2 Update 2). Affected products do not properly validate the certificate of the configured UMC server. This could allow an attacker to intercept credentials that are sent to the UMC server as well as to manipulate responses, potentially allowing an attacker to escalate privileges.
Improper enforcement of the Disable password saving in vaults setting in the connection entry component in Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager 2025.3.30 and earlier allows an authenticated user to persist credentials in vault entries, potentially exposing sensitive information to other users, by creating or editing certain connection types while password saving is disabled.
systemd 239 through 245 accepts any certificate signed by a trusted certificate authority for DNS Over TLS. Server Name Indication (SNI) is not sent, and there is no hostname validation with the GnuTLS backend. NOTE: This has been disputed by the developer as not a vulnerability since hostname validation does not have anything to do with this issue (i.e. there is no hostname to be sent)
An issue in Turing Video Turing Edge+ EVC5FD v.1.38.6 allows remote attacker to execute arbitrary code and obtain sensitive information via the cloud connection components.
A vulnerability in the Cisco SD-WAN Solution could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass certificate validation on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to improper certificate validation. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by supplying a system image signed with a crafted certificate to an affected device, bypassing the certificate validation. An exploit could allow an attacker to deploy a crafted system image.
A vulnerability was discovered in Veritas NetBackup Snapshot Manager before 10.2.0.1 that allowed untrusted clients to interact with the RabbitMQ service. This was caused by improper validation of the client certificate due to misconfiguration of the RabbitMQ service. Exploiting this impacts the confidentiality and integrity of messages controlling the backup and restore jobs, and could result in the service becoming unavailable. This impacts only the jobs controlling the backup and restore activities, and does not allow access to (or deletion of) the backup snapshot data itself. This vulnerability is confined to the NetBackup Snapshot Manager feature and does not impact the RabbitMQ instance on the NetBackup primary servers.
